I went for second day show..In my theatre, several boys started getting angry and booing.. towards the end.. they went expecting Love Story 2 and were butt hurt when it didn’t pan out that way
The ending showed so much maturity and realism
You forgot to mention about Sean Roldan who played a tremendous role in making this movie watching experience to the next level.
He is very overrated for some reason, his music is template n it broke the flow of the movie a couple of times. Especially when you’re supposed to feel disgusted with Arun’s action he played comical track. The edm track that comes in the party where they dance was too average n the kuthu song that followed up was super average that I was happy it ended quick
@@gsriram7 nah i felt every bgms were perfectly placed in the movie, and there are really less no of soundtracks in the movie which is actually good. even if sean did more good bgms, the essence of the films would've been not what the director wants it to be.

@@pseudonymous288 less soundtracks are good about the movie i agree but surprisingly other friends of mine agreed with me when I said his placements weren't appropriate. His main criticism is he choosing mass music over appropriate music sometimes which breaks the flow of the movie

Im from TN, watched this movie 3 days back. This is the portrayal of how men are treating their lover (women), causing women to feel insecure. It's a portrayal of real-life cinema. I couldn't bring myself to leave the film. It depicts the lowest depths of men ( not all the time, at any one point of time).
After this movie i watched the previous work of this director called " livin" a youtube web series. Thats also awesome how this guy created web series at the time of 2017 AND also AI in the series.
No mention about Sri Gouri Priya. She equally lived the character as manikandan

The plot of the movie is simple and good, but it was purposefully made so dramatic that made it arrghhh in many frames! The male character has highs and lows in extremes.

It's a very good movie
They made his toxicity look cool towards the end where he says 'I don't need to prove it to you' & when he comes in a bike with a bgm just before his cafe, also when he leaves the girl when she gives a hug and cries.... again just showed the male superiority to make the movie a feel good. I don't think the movie handled the issue properly like you took it raunaq. it was half baked which stuck between showing toxicity and making a feel good film. He never actually struggled and suffered because of his toxicity, he just made others suffer, suddenly he gets an epiphany when his GF insults him with his father, then immediate success with a single screen card saying 'after 2 years' . I didn't want Arun to be successful without realising his mistakes - when did this happen!?
Exactly right!! No one seems to address this point.. It was dealt with maturity till the end but then they chose to make the heroine inferior just because she spoke the truth by comparing to his father & now this guy's male ego is hurt & he achieves everything after that.. if he'd changed for good when she kept on explaining to him then he would've achieved it waayyy earlier & would've also saved their relationship.. there's nothing extra macho in doing that now...
They've shown a scene where he cries hard in the shower remembering his mom I was expecting him to finally apologize from the heart letting go off the ego but nope😕
PS: but I can't deny that rest of the film was very well written & handled... It's becoming more & more difficult to find such nuanced & balanced realistic storytelling amidst all of the havoc caused by worthless movie iykyk
U guys are completely misinterpreting it " I don't need to prove it to u" doesn't mean to show off his ego. He means we no longer are together so u don't worry about me I can take care of myself or it can interpret as I need to prove it to my father that i am better him and his love for his mother started to motivated him to be better.
