Put an amphibian pond up there-that is a TON (pun not intended) of dirt-save the amphibians! Can put up a 3', fine mesh, reinforced hardware cloth fence around it-I found this keeps in everyone but tree frogs. That would be SO AWESOME! Polluted runoff free habitat! 😊😍💗
Theoretically yes, but roots don't work that way, they don't just randomly grow, rather the plant "seeks" a nutrient source with it roots, but when it finds one, the plant focuses it's roots growing onto that direction. So if a root reaches the bottom volcanic rock layer and finds no nutrients, it won't continue growing further. Hope that answers your question :)
