We are off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Canada. Way to go on day one, "The Field Trip", only 2600+ miles to go! Say What!!!!! Rattlesnakes, Mountain Lions, and Bears, Oh my!!!!! HERE WE GO!!!!!!!
the kids will learn 10 times more about life on this singel trip that they would have been in school for a year, this is how you parenting people, Keep up the good work y`all !! Best regards from Sweden.
Soooo happy to see this video. Day one and The Field Trip is killing it! I'm also following Kelly Hayes and Julia Sheehan. Neither one is too far ahead of you. Anxious to see if you meet up at some point. Keep up the awesome, positive attitudes! You will make it!
It's so nice to see a family hiking the PCT, it's an extreme challenge but you guys make it look easy. When you guys make it to Tehachapi mile 560 would love to host you guys. Happy Trails!
Love that you are using Relive. Take a little advice from a desert hiker. You made your 20 miles well before sunset. You could easily afford to stop under some shade in the middle of the hot afternoon and take a nap. It would help you recharge and give you a break from the sun. (just be sure there are no snakes-- they like to hide near rocks) In the desert the heat keeps building all day until just before the sun goes down. Once it goes down it gets cool pretty fast.
so excited to follow you on this journey!!! stay hydrated and safe, and don't be afraid to slow down to enjoy the scenery of beautiful socal!!! nothing else like it. godspeed ❤️
Of course you guys are doing 20 on your first day. Sarah from the blazing bakers is on this year. She did the AT last year. She’s quick too but I told her your family rocks and might catch up to her. I pray for your safety and health. Have fun .
What you guys are doing is so exciting and fun to watch. Hope you have daily electrolyte drinks like Nuun or Emergen-c Electrolyte to deal with the extra sweating. And also sunblock.
I'm curious what kind of "rules" you have. It's kind of hard to hike your own hike when you are in charge of keeping track and keeping safe these kiddos. Do you guys let them go ahead a ways? But not too far? Do they spend a lot of time waiting? Or are they struggling to keep up and you're left waiting? Do they carry all their own food and water? I would love to hike the PCT and even better, if my daughter wants to join, I would love to take her with me. (She's only 3 now though, so a bit of waiting to do. Haha)
Time to binge watch your PCT videos :) proud of y’all!
So excited for all of you and grateful we are again lucky enough to go on this journey with you. Thank you! Happy and safe hiking!!
LOVED the yellow trail marker through tour path for the day!!! Wow - great day 1. Two nasty snakes …. Be safe.

Yes, siestas are popular in the Southwest for many good reasons. Don't wear yourself out hiking in the heat of the midday. Best of luck!
Congratulations on starting the pct trail of 2022, I’m going look forward watching your videos

Happy trails! The snakes.. eek...
Congrats on a great start. But I can't believe you hiked 20 miles on day 1!
I can, they’ll probably shoot for 25 tomorrow
Great start!
The scenery is amazing! Did you ever find out what the smaller snake is called?
Consider procuring umbrellas for shade and, after leaving packs unattended for a while, check them for snakes before putting them on.
This is great. thanks

It’s awesomeness you got to attend Sunrise service n start P.C.T (in Vn “Cám õng Chưa) = Praise the Lord ! Papa J
You guys need to watch out for snakes under that brush
I am confused. Are you guys trying to walk the entire PCT or just a section?
They are walking to Canada, so the whole trail!
Did dad not join on the thru hike?
One thing about the PCT, you should not have to deak with the crazy rain you experienced on the AT!
Should be cooler days ahead, as you go north and into higher elevations
my guess a mohave rattlesnake
