When I was like 10 me and my friend recorded these into a DVD using his computer and would replay and laugh for hours. Boobah is SO weird. If nostalgia is that nice warm feeling you get when looking back at your childhood shows, this feeling of absolute terror and discomfort must be the opposite of nostalgia.
Tell me about it. I just looked at the opening today and I was kind of creeped out and terrified after seeing it again as an adult at the age of 18, I was asking myself “What was I watching when I was a kid?” Whenever I think of a childhood show that I could look back on and have a warm nostalgic feeling towards, I would go for the power rangers, the ninja turtles, the teen Titans, and even Mickey Mouse clubhouse. I saw boohbah as a kid in the year 2004-2006 on PBS kid’s at the age of 2-4 and back then I loved it, but now as an adult this show is looking like a weird fever dream.
To quote the legendary Caddicarus... “There’s no plot, no structure, not even any comprehensible language to drive the show along. It’s basically just an acid trip for people that are too young to take the real thing. And if an acid trip is anything like this show, then I never want to take it.”

There once was a television show. No creepy characters, no stupid premises, no bright colors, etc. Just a kind man in a cardigan sweater. "Won't you be my neighbor?"
I'll never forget when I first saw this working as a nurse in a children's hospital and one of my kiddo patients was watching this! I literally stood there as if I was in a trance 😵💫 This was a weird and trippy kids show back in the day lol
This was one of those shows that I thought that I had made up. This, Kipper, Lazy Town, and a couple others. As I got older, I started to think that my imagination as a kid was through the roof. But knowing they're real gives me a sense of relief. Usually.. When I figured out his one was real, I was filled with a sense of dread. Oh god, the Satanic cult is real.
I'm now in my honours year at music school studying classical piano and composition, and having learned about writing music for film and television as part of my degree, I keep coming back to shows I watched as a kid like Boohbah, Teletubbies etc. and what's behind these shows is some extraordinary music. I actually wrote one of my dissertations on music in television on the intros and the incidental music to children's shows including Play School (the intro from 2000-2011 that I grew up with), Boohbah, Shawn the Sheep among others, analysing the music deeply and how it adds to the ambience and feel of the shows and I to this day find it a fascinating subject.
Half of the video shows some kids from around the world jumping around constantly non-stop, giggling for no reason, staring at the magic thing and chanting Boohbah like they're possessed while the magic ball thing floats around them. Meanwhile the other half finally shows the Boohbahs introduction, it took forever for them to come out, when they did, it's so lame for them to fly and run around like chubby human "farting" and squeaking almost a lot, the eyes are kinda creepy while adding the sound effects, turning left, right then the screen. Last, there's no catchy song to make it more entertaining then seeing colourful large-sized aliens flying around. You call this an intro? That long? It's also kinda creepy for a kids show.
When I was a kid this literally tripped me out. I just started at the TV like my eyes melted out of my head during this show. The weirdest part of this show is that I had no idea what was happening in it when I was a child, and I still don't now. It was just them effing around for 30 minutes. WHAT IS THIS?!
Fun fact: the creator of the show was on drugs and had drug induced nightmares about these scary weird blobs. That's what inspired him to make this show. What you are seeing is what the creator saw in his drug induced nightmares. This makes a lot of sense
This is the kind of video an evil organization in a movie would use to brain wash people. Like some one would be strapped to a high tech scary chair with their eyes forced open, then a menacing dude in sunglasses would turn on this video and leave the room, and we'd just hear horrific screams and camera zooms out from the closed door. Thats how horrific and uncofortable this video is.
I get why you people think this is creepy or just some sort of acid trip, but lemme tell ya, watching this as a kid was actually hella exciting. Just seeing those color joy balls jumping around and dancing made you do it too, and enjoy the funny sounds and weird faces they make. I'm pretty sure this was a way for tired parents to take some energy of their hyper babies out. This is a sweet childhood memory.
I loved this show and I'm 65 now. It still makes me laugh when their heads pop up and they look to the left and right. I first saw this show when I was about 40, and I told my kids about it. They just thought it was weird. I like coming back here once in a while to get a smile on my face and actually laugh out loud. It helps me remember we are all children at heart and the crazy world we are living in these days is just the evil matrix. Light will always conquer darkness.
I used to watch this show when I was little. Later on in life I had forgotten it was a show and had nightmares of the creatures with the "boohbaahhhh" voice in the background 🤣🤣😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

+Strawberry Cherry
I was there when it began
I'm not even kidding
It was cool though
Same. I was five I think when Katrina happened, and I'm from near the Biloxi, MS area. Even when I was five this show was bizarre, lol. :D
How the hell did this show get on television outside of UK? If I remember when I saw one episode it was really eccentric.
The weirdest part of this show is that I had no idea what was happening in it when I was a child, and I still don't now. It was just them effing around for 30 minutes. WHAT IS THIS?!
This show terrified me as a child, watching it now I still get freaking chills and I'm 19
same.
Same
OH GOD I THOUGHT I SUPPRESSED THIS SHOW IN THE BACK OF MY MIND ITS COMING BACK
I REMEMBER THIS SHOW HOLY FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FROM WHEN I WAS SO LITTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know me too
Try watching this high. Lol
me too
Same
What show are you talking about?
They should make a horror movie based on this. Wait...it's already a horror...
HaHa! IKR?
Please don’t say that.
no... that will just ruin my childhood.
No it is boohbah
@@LaceyPowerPuffGirl I think your childhood is already ruined because of this creepypasta
why is this unsettling yet comforting at the same time
So this is what life looks like when people take drugs. It all makes sense now
That's why I'm not taking drugs.
Drugs are far less terrifying than this.
Especially 1:50
3:06 Dang...who ate Taco Bell?
Robert’s Channel of Random Stuff lol
They all did. 😄😁
🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
What the hell did they have us watching I feel like I’m on acid
Yo fr
honestly. normally i wouldn’t compare most random shit to being on acid but this really feels like acid or something i can’t stop laughing lmao
Fun fact: the creator of the show was on drugs and had drug induced nightmares about these scary weird blobs. That's what inspired him to make this show. What you are seeing is what the creator saw in his drug induced nightmares. This makes a lot of sense
WHY DID I USED TO WATCH THIS?? THIS IS LIKE BEING ON DRUGS WTF
OH MY GOD! A GIANT FLOATING WHITE BALL! LET'S SMILE AND JUMP!
Lol!!!
How many extra chromosomes do you need to watch this...?

Toddler me: Loved this show for some reason
Me now: Still loves this show for some reason
This is the most disturbing thing i've seen on UA-cam in a long time.
Yes, I totally agree!!
Lol
My eyes hurt
first 10 seconds legit horror movie material
Hegan Tank So are the other 4 minutes and 8 seconds.
oh my god i thought this was only a fever dream that kept showing up in my mind. i wish it was
I loved this show and I'm 65 now.
It’s their eyes and the little clicking sound they make that I love most.
This show scared me as a child
i remember the days when intros.. WERE LONG AS F***
I used to watch this show when I was little. Later on in life I had forgotten it was a show and had nightmares of the creatures with the "boohbaahhhh" voice in the background 🤣🤣😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
The Garcia’s Journey HAHA SAME OMG
Same here.
everyone's like "MY CHILDHOOD" or "THIS IS SOME DEVIL SHIT RIGHT HERE" and I'm laughing my ass off because of the way they started spinning im

No wonder people thought I was crazy.
PredaPrime So did I. This is personally my favourite show from Ragdoll.
Anton Adams Mine was Brum.
Along with Steve Irwin, he was my hero as a 4 year old.
I only just thought about this show and until then I just thought it was some fever dream that I vaguely remembered.

Someone out there must've seen Teletubbies and thought "this makes too much sense."

Maybe you are!! Jk
How did I love this?!?! 😫😂
I used to wake up early in the morning to watch them.
Now I see why I have weird dreams with sparkles sometimes and a bright sky
OH MY GOD THIS WAS MY FAVORITE SHOW AS A KID AND OMG IM CRINGING SO HARD 😂😂 I HAD A BLUE BOOBAH AND YELLOW BOOBAH TOY
my big sis had the pink one. f*cking terrifying thing. she would say the boobah would come for me if i was bad
I had them five and I think I still have them 😂
I had an orange one and my mom tells me that it randomly said “boohbah” at the middle of the night 😂
@@rohitramamoorthy1019 Lol
This was legit the most trippiest show I’ve seen as a kid!!
American horror story:boobah
Reminds me of what went through my mind the first time I felt a girl's boobs.

Alex Golembeski You flew around the planet at the speed of rainbow only to be greeted by 2 jumping kids on crack 3 times and plunged into a rainbow portal!?!?!?

This was like "off brand" teletubbies.
The more drugged up teletubbies
"There's a starman waiting in the skies. He'd like to come and meet us, but he thinks he'd blow our minds. . . . So let all the children boogie." - David Bowie
