Dale, I can't thank you enough. I'm 19 and this was my second season turkey hunting, and I got my first bird this year on May 13th in southwest MI. It was my third weekend out hunting and had a couple close encounters that drove me nuts. It was probably about 4:30 in the afternoon, and I was leaned up against a tree with a hen decoy on the trail about 25 yards in front of me. Obviously not a single gobble that late in the day, and the mosquitos were kicking my ass. I almost called it quits, but the trail led to a small clearing I had seen them feeding, and I wanted to at least put the birds to bed. I pulled up your video on evening hunting, and decided to follow your advice and do some occasional soft calling. About 6:30 a jake come putzing towards my hen decoy all quiet from the timber on my right. He stopped next to the decoy on the trail, and a soft putt from my mouth call got him to raise his head up just right for a perfect headshot. I wouldn't have been able to fill my first tag without you!

This is the definition of what a hunting channel should be. All others may be bigger but they are strictly “entertainment” and sales oriented. We appreciate your passion and how genuine you are. Keep pushing for us normal folk!

So glad I found your channel. Thank you for the videos. They helped me get on more, and close the deal, on tight-lipped turkeys this season. Can't wait 'til next season.

Dale, thank you for sharing all your knowledge. The past few years have been a rough go as I've introduced my wife to turkey hunting and it's been a struggle. I've called her in birds numerous times and either she's missed or moved at the wrong time and about any other mistakes have been made. She feels bad every time telling me she should stop and I'd have a lot more under my belt blah blah blah, but at the end of the day I take the small victories. Like this may in ny I had a bird going and 2 other guys come running thru the woods calling like crazy. I laughed and told her to watch this. I cut like crazy for 3 mins and then shut up. He didn't make another peep for 2 hrs and then fired up 60 yards from us. She turned her head to look right as I told her he's right there. He saw and booked. She just about cried but said hey I'm a great caller better than most and called him back the next morning and that's was the victory. No shot but hey she is starting to understand that I let her make her own mistakes so she learns. Told her ill gladly take her till the day I die even if I don't shot another one in my life time. It's all about passing on the knowledge and tradition.

I wish we could turkey hunt in the fall in Arkansas. In the 90’s we could hunt turkeys during the fall with a bow and they would allow a gun season in North West Arkansas in the Ozark’s and Quachita mountains but I don’t think you can anymore though. The first of November I was bow hunting deer this fall 2023 as soon as I got in my deer stand I had a flock of 20 hens feed all around my stand and was surprised how much they communicated with each other and you could really tell what hen was the boss hen I heard them purr, cluck and yelp also heard them do the whine and the wheel feeding and contiment calls it was neat listening to them just being turkeys and allowed me to learn more about them and how I can use it this spring they fed there about an hour then they moved on then after they left 7 gobblers there was 3 jakes with them also and heard them doing feeding calls and was able to hear them do a gobbler yelps they hung out around my stand for about 20 minutes then moved on they were all in bow range and I could see their spurs except for the jakes they were all 2 year old turkeys they have roosted around my stand a few times but haven’t turkey hunted that area but plan on listening before turkey season. It is a lease from Weyhauser and they thinned the timber on are lease in spring of 2023 I didn’t even scout are lease last season because of the cutting. I hunt on private land for turkeys that borders the deer lease there is a long beard their that is over 6 years old and he has a buddy that is close to the same age

Just wrapped up my 51'st season. Never fired a shot. Many set ups. Just out of range. Still one of my best years. Not beyond taking a va.long beard but thank the Lord I can still hear a gobble on a cool spring morning. Good luck to all.

My cousin introduced me to your channel and I binged the hell out of everything you have to offer. This was my first season and most of your lessons stuck but a few I had to learn the hard way. “You kill turkeys with your butt, not your feet” and “BE PATIENT” if I’d have done more of those two things (especially the latter) i’d have got a turkey on at least three different occasions.

Matt, appreciate the videos man. What material are you using for them tube calls, wood, acrylic, plastic? I know you're a busy man in the spring and fall, but if you're a little further up 81 in our commonwealth, let's go hunting. Take care man and God Bless, maybe we'll cross paths sometime.

A lot of turkey huntin shows they’re on these 500+ acres that nobody can hunt and corn piles just out of camera shot. If I had places like that I’d limit out every year but I got public land and some private land where hunting is hard.

Matt, only started turkey hunting 4 years ago and have been succesful every season since, thanks to your advice and coaching!
This spring season was my best ever, az I tagged out harvesting two nice gobblers. We're allowed 2 birds in the Spring season here in Ontario Canada.
I'm thinking you need to add Canada to your turkey hunting destination spots!
Keep your quality educational videos coming, your content is first rate! Thanks again for what you do!
