Hey Carny. This was up there with your most entertaining and relevant (to me) videos. Those crab tying skills are up there now. I'm looking forward to doing it again. Surgery saw me miss out for most of this year but will be back up to NT before you know it. A question ... do you feel particularly vulnerable when anchoring up and sleeping on the boat? I have done it on southern rivers in NSW but not been game do it in far Northern waters. Any tips re where to anchor up to remain safe? Thanks Andy - keep up the great work. Looking forward to trying your Porosus lures out. Cheers.
Hey Doug great to hear from you and awesome feedback. Yes when sleeping in the boat u don’t want to anchor in a back eddie or where it gets to shallow or to much current. You want to be in a bit deeper water but you want some current. The current means the crocks can only swim up behind 🤞. I find camping in the boat brings so many more opportunities & it costs nothing. Thanks mate & tight lines with the POROSUS lures & appreciate your support..🦀🦀👍🎣
Thanks Andy, enjoy seeing the little creeks and the lovely green water. the drone is working a treat. the stretcher is close to the side of the boat. 😄😄🎣🎣
Great video Andy, bloody good idea beating the wind. I got belted this week. That fishing shirt you gave me is my favourite so cool and comfortable. Good to see those big crabs and glad that knife is still going. Might get a bit rusty but you won’t ever break it breaking down crabs 🦀, chopping wood 🪵 or spearing buffalo 🐃 haha. Bed looks good, love that umbrella ☂️. Look forward to the next one 🎣
Hey Rob yes mate need to rub the knife with steel wool and apply some oil and yes blooming wind stuffs it mores ways then one thanks mate & tight lines..🦀🦀🦀👌🎣👍👍
@@andytotalcarnage8763 Just surface rust, oil and steel wool perfect. With time it will go dark and develop a patina and be more rust resistant. Drawback of carbon steel but it will be tougher and hold a better edge than stainless .
Gee Andy what a life, chasing Barra on the Roper and now after some awesome muddies. Weather and water look amazing. Will be watching your vids and enjoying the build up to the wet. Hope to catch up with you next autumn in the NT.
Yeah you gotta watch that current when you’re by yourself and 1 hand on a camera Carney….easy to come unstuck and end up scrambling for rods as the branches come in…..been there …. Crab tying skills have come a long way mate, the boys would be proud of ya
Another great video mate… I’m living vicariously through you at the moment… And that knife would give Croc Dundee a run for his money. Hope you are well legend 👍
Beauty, Carney. Nice feed of crab, a few mangroves for seasoning and great water. Living the good life. PS. The new drone is working a treat.😊😊. Cheers Ghost.
Enjoyed again watching you on my new tv. Old one I had had for years buggered up. Better picture now. Very impressed with your tying up skills. Don’t get too good or they will want you to work. I got a rock cod a couple of big mullet whiting and garfish Friday. See what happens this week thanks Andy 😊🐠🐟🎣
G'day Andy, Relax while waiting for the tide to change. Great to have all that feedom now. You have to be stoked with those muddies and all tied up ready for processing. I use an old butchers steel to crack mine open. The stretcher sure beats being on the boat floor. I reckon they are worth their weight in gold when camping. The Major BB🎩🦀🦀🦀🦀🔪👌🤙👍✅️✅️
Camped on that creek many times about 40 years ago. Biggest croc I ever saw lived there on the gravel bank a bit up stream. Wouldn’t think that he was still around , but you never know . 😮
The princess said Your squeaky umbrella winder sounds like my wallet opening ..😂 I just nipped downstairs to get a cuppa and a couple of biscuits as new new you were gonna be making me hungry 😜 those crabs were huge they are fabulous creatures but they do look so menacing and mean you were making me nervous tying them up but looks like you got it covered perfectly me old mate nice job . beautiful drone footage to that water is beautiful , take it easy big fella 👍🦀🎣
Some good solid bucks there buddy 👍 Living in FNQ I know sleeping near or on the water has it’s risks as far as crocs are concerned! How often have you them hang around? Maybe some some footage? I have done my fair share of crabbing over the years and the other day heard that cauliflower works a treat! Find it a bit hard to believe! What different types of baits have u tried ? Anyway top stuff as always mate . Cheers from Bart at Cow Bay 👍
Had a few different types of stretchers Carnie only thing wrong is trying to get the bloody things back in the bag I went and bought a bigger bag for the one I got now getting too old to be just swaging it on the ground you better get to and make a brew up for them fly's mate won't be long and the mozzies be up you as well
That stretcher sure makes it easy for a snapping handbag to put his head up over the side and help himself to a carnie sandwich......hahaha Living the life Andy. cheers from the Darkside.
Hey Brad always be virulent mate always treat it like there could be a big hungry croc lurking not to far away. Bunnings for the umbrella about $100 dollars thanks mate..🦀🦀👍
Looking semi-pro on those crabs now mate. I'm going to ruin your life though, check out the Oztrail stretcher tent, stretcher plus built in bug mesh. Top it off with a zempire bomber pad sleeping mat and you'll sleep like a teenager. Unlike babies teenagers are impossible to wake up.
