- After a day fishing and mud crabbing, I come home and cook up a feast of Chilli Mudcrab. The fishing and mudcrab has been exceptionally good this year on the Mcarthur River.

I'm going to try more catch and cooks this year mate. Starting with the video I published about an hour ago... my first video of the year is a Golden Snapper Catch and Cook. Nothing too fancy, but the freshest fish possible.

Love the Chilli Crab recipe mate absolutely delicious. Am from Daru Island in Papua New Guinea just North of you and yeah we got some good muddies, Barramundi, Prawns and snappers up here to.

Hey Mikey love your episodes. a little tip on thickening the Crab Gravy is wack a few raw eggs into the gravy and a bit of a whisk and you have it. Add more or less to suit the Quantities.
Also especially with Blue Swimmers put a few raw eggs into the marinade and BBQ them and at the end when cooked add the egg slop on the crabs and take off before it completely solidifies. Enjoy and let me know how it goes. Cheers.
Absolute lightbulb moment as soon as I read your message mate. I was meant to use eggs!!! Totally forgot. I’ve used eggs before in my chilli crab. Don’t know how I forgot …
In fairness it was like 40 degrees outside and then having to move everything inside the shed mid-videoing had me frustrated and not thinking straight. Haha.
Well you had some challenges Mikey, but that chilli mud crab cookup at the end made it all worthwhile, that looked delicious 😋

He’s finished up for the year mate. Crabs have slowed down so much there are only a couple of crabbers still working.

Any chance you can do a video about rigs, rods ,line caliber etc any tips of must bring items for both fishin n cooking?
Mate I reckon Ash and I have you covered in our podcast. I can’t remember if we spoke about all that stuff in episode 4 or 5 of the podcast (which will be published Friday of next week or the week after) … but we covered it all. Everything you mentioned plus more. So stay turned for those episodes mate. We went into plenty of detail about all that stuff.

Hey Mikey have you ever eaten barracuda I know they stink but if you bleed them and throw them on ice filled and season and cook they are fabulous to eat not joking or pulling your leg either bud I eat them quite a bit.
I haven't eaten one mate. But I believe ya... I reckon any fishing caught and cooked fresh is gonna taste pretty good.

I use Adobe Premiere Pro mate. I’ve been using it for over 20 years now… so I’m pretty comfortable and efficient with it.
I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners.
