- Restoration and sympathetic upgrades to a 1994 Trek 820 hardtail mtb.
Gritblasted, painted and build. New tyres and tubes, new 7 speed shifter. Changed from 6-speed grip shifters and freewheel to 7 speed Inde shifters, freehub and 7 speed 11-28 cassette. New seat. I hope you like it. The bike is for sale.
Great job!
Looks amazing, well done
Great tasteful build. Nice!
I love how clean and simple it is! No flashy parts, no hacks. It looks the way it's supposed to look
Thanks 👍
Applause!! great great job. I take this for my 1991 DiamondBack
I had a new 800. It had the chain stay mounted u-brake. Would love to find that bike again and restore it. Nice job.
Super nice! I don't know why I never thought of rebuilding a bike and doing up the brakes without tires on the wheels. It looks like it makes it so much easier to get everything lined up right.
Ah well played. It looks beautiful. I’m busy restoring a 4000 Alpha at the moment. Needs lots of love like your one did.
Great restoration and very inspirational! I found your video as I'm beginning to restore/update a '93 Trek Antelope 830. These bikes can be picked up for dirt cheap but are very serviceable and easy to upgrade. Thank you for all the ideas and info in this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Top job great paint and decals a1!

Great video buddy and a cracking job on that trek 👍🚴♂️
I really dig the color you chose for the frame.

hi do you have the link where i can buy the same handlebar and stem?
My friend put this bike together for his son and before I knew it he was done ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L When the son came to put it together he was surprised to see it was already done. All he had to do was take the bike to get air and be on his way. My friend did not have any major problems putting this bike together; small issue was putting one of the brakes on straight; however when the son got home he was able to fix it. The bike rides well gears move correctly; good bike for the price. Wrote review after the son took the bike. Sorry.
Yes it does
Great job❤ where did you buy All the components? I have the same bicycle
Most of the parts came from other bikes that I have upcycled. The only new parts were the saddle ( on sale at REI co-op for $15), the stem extender from 1 to 1 & 1 1/8 from Amazon for $11 and the 7 speed shifter new from eBay for $17. The expensive bit, as always, were new tyres - I got them from Modern Bike for $25 each.
Great video. Can you please tell me how you loosen the rear brakes to remove the tire. I have a Trek 800. Thanks.
Just squeeze the brakes together and release the fixed end barrel - it pops out quite easily - to reconnect squeeze brakes together and pop it back in.
@@JohnPilling25 Sorry but I’m sure what you mean by “fixed end barrel”. Is it the little round thing with 1 cable going in and 2 coming out and going to each rear brake?
@@artriumph no it's the end of the cable that has the lead barrel shaped piece permanently attached to it.
@@JohnPilling25 Ok thanks but there is not enough slack in that cable to pop it out. It’s a hair too short / tight Not sure how to loosen it .
@@artriumph try backing off the barrel adjuster at the brake lever.
Hey
What's the name of the colour?
Lovely bike👍👍
Montana Gold ... Mt. Fuji ... 5140
@@JohnPilling25 thanks 👌
