Norm managed to save a lot of boring guest appearances :) You could almost sense the relief from Conan when Norm would interject with yet another wild remark.
15:19 A very astute observation here, because one of my absolute favorite moments of Norm’s is his set at the Roast of Bob Saget… by that point, the Comedy Central series of celebrity roasts had pretty much devolved into a competition of who could be the most raunchy and disgusting. Norm decides instead to go up and “roast” the room with the most benign and softest of “Dad joke” insults, like telling Bob, “People say you’re so handsome that your face looks like a flower… yeah, a cauliflower…” and then just stares at Bob until he bursts out laughing. The whole crowd was completely baffled, but the comics on stage are all just dying at the sheer audacity of what Norm’s doing… it became this legendary thing among them. 😆
Imagine being met at the Pearly Gate by George Carlin, Norm Macdonald and Christopher Hitchens. Not really logical, i know, but damn that would've been my kind of heaven!
@@garethm3242 What are you, a fourteen-year-old boy from the year 2006? Americans in particular are far too easily taken in by the public school accent, and the smug, drawling voice. His mind was very ordinary. A stupid person's idea of a smart person. And, morally speaking, he was - as the late great Alex Cockburn had it - a truly disgusting sack of shit.
Norm was very funny on Conan. I think he was the best presenter of SNL Weekend Update. Norm on OJ Simpson was funny and relentless. David Letterman was very supportive when an TV network executive, who was a friend of OJ Simpson, got Norm fired. Best Wishes. ☮
I may be only 32 and an “American idiot “ (yes I’m a fan of green day lol) but everytime I see you both, you remind me of what the goal is, to be utterly still in love captivatingly, exploring things together after what I imagine is atleast 2 years more than me being on earth lol (you’re not old but I’m not young, accept the math u want to believe lol) honestly, thank you. You’ve helped me out so many ways that you don’t understand with your giggling and Punny jokes. My dream is to get stuck with neighbors like you someday lol thank you for what you do and please keep it up and if there’s any way for us to help, you make sure and make a big stink of it at the beginning of a big video will do the rest lol thank you truly and let yourselves go crazy with laughter :)
Norms best joke, and there are a TON, but the Charles Woodson Heisman joke is easily one of the hardest hitting ones! HAHA Since you two are Canadian, check out him hosting the Canadian Emmy's, (Norm changed the name to the Candies for John Candy) you to will love it!
The Charles Woodson joke was brutal and hysterical at the same time. Another opportunity to tell an OJ joke. And it hit HARD! The guys around him were like... "Did he just say that?"
Hello my two favourite Canadians. You said you wanted to watch more Shane Gillis. He has a comedy special that is on UA-cam called "Shane Gillis - Live In Austin" I promise you will love it. Don't watch clips though, watch the whole thing.
Norm was all _aboot_ the timing and delivery.
This channel feels so warm. Lol just my kind of ppl.

Carlin and Hitchens are chained the burning lake for sure.
Hitchens would have god himself converted to atheism/antitheism, such was the power of his reason, rhetoric and charm.

He did have Jay Leno's job (the Tonight Show) for a year, then acrimony ensued when Leno took the job back.
They both had trash ratings at the new time slots, Jay pulled his seniority card.
Conan did the tonight show for a couple weeks and it was the best the shows ever been.
Not "almost had" Leno's job. Conan WAS the host of The Tonight Show briefly.
