Being an old vintage synth musician I love to see something that has the build, the class and genius (with a 2020 mindset) and few synths and modules has all this. Soma Labs stuff does and Pulsar23 in particular is to me the most awesome contemporary synth on the market. I am hoping to own one later this year. Watching these videos the time being and it does things to my spirit's wanderlust.
Bad Vlad! You are a wizard! The pulsar is the best drum synth of 2020. I love these videos! They put my kid to sleep and give me crazy dreams. THANK YOU!
thanks for that great tutorial. It's incredible to use Pulsar-23 Bass as a Synthesizer and the other modules as modulation and manipulation sources. It becomes a fascinating modular instrument.
As I watch this video, I appreciate the subversiveness of having taken the definition of a synth bass module and perverting it to ignore the typical manufacturer conventions. Lovely
I have to change my wishlist and rearrange my career path. Make some some money, buy a Lyra, a Pulsar and shut up and play it. This is damned good stuff!
I have a question. I am trying to control the drums and the bass synth from one external midi device (Tracker); how should I go about ensuring that the bass synth does not trigger chromatically when the other 3 drums are triggered? Is there a range limit on the bass synth notes to allow space for assigning the other three instruments?
Hey Vlad, I was wondering whether it is still possible to order a Lyra-8 or a Pulsar-23 in a custom color? I remember this was possible a while ago. If not, I totally understand. I can imagine that's a bit difficult when sales volume increases.
Yes, under the wooden block seats a little gnome who helps me turn the knobs. Gnomes don't like to be visible for people that is why I put this block. :))
are you planning to make any of the sections of the pulsar into eurorack modules? i'm building my first rack and the lyra fx is going to be a big part of it. i'd absolutely love to get a pulsar, but i can't afford it right now. regardless, this machine is on my wish list of things i simply must own one day. by far the most unique drumsynth of the decade.
Although I second the idea of having more Soma Labs modules, I think there are already some modules that may give you (almost) the same capabilities :) For instance I would advise the vpme.de quad drum voice if you want to go drummy !
I'm guessing it would sound great, but have heard people ask about how to get a consistent sound from it. I would say use it, then sample it for those genres or mixdowns and mastering would be harder. I'd still be sorely tempted to buy and use this in some kind of live gabba set though!
@@BrawnyBeats Yes indeed Ableton Live Rec on and than experimenting. Later review to result and snip out what you have created good and through away what is shit. I bought this machine because it’s really different from the standard machines xy. Subtractive or additive or FM ... it’s strange and that is the adventure.
I really love the Pulsar-23 and most of your work, so this is not criticism, but for myself I would have prefered another analogue drum channel instead of Bass, personally I would have put a second BD or SD in, as everyone has a decent monosynth now.
As demonstrated in the video @40:27, the bass module has a PERC mode. In this mode it can do all kinds of percussion sounds. It can be your second BD, SD, Tom, Hihat, even shaker... This is brilliant!
This thing is going to shape the future of music.

Thank the Lord that he builds synths & does not work for governments 🤯✨
Like governments he is taking all our money...at least in return he gives us pure beauty
I don't own a Pulsar 23 but I enjoy your great in-depth videos very much. It's incredible how deep your machine is and how versatile.
Thanks for being here with us! The Pulsar is out of this world.. Vlad, you're a legend!
Thanks again for making these in depth videos. I'm learning so many new tips and tricks!

@ 27:35- whoa! it's like the whole 70s NY underground scene in a box!
Never seen something like that
what musicians/records would it be please?
@@felipesigne901 Check the compilation New York Noise on Souljazz Records for a start.
@@s90210h very good start !
Nice reference! Got to dig out those NY No Wave and noise compilations for some inspiration again.
Most impressive synth in a long time!

Sounds fantastic. Deep with a lot of character. .

This is definitely the most eccentric demo video I've ever seen
I still love it. No surprise there - only in some of the sounds.
Молодцы! здорово! Wonderfull stuff!!!!!!
Техномашина какая-то лютая! Я просто включил и слушал поток звуков.
Very cool synth. 😎 I may have to to scoop one up. 👍 👍 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Brilliant. I salute you, sir.
Those who thumb him down has no business being on this site. I think he did an awesome job explaining all its features. Thank you Vlad Kreimer.

Fantastically insane!!!
Really cool stuff!
Great instrument. Sounds alive.
incredible machine right here.

Wild.. I like it
Can you record a melody played direct from a midi keyboard into the Pulsar for playback ?
any future chance to release the bass as a standalone desktop module?
sounding really nice
Take my money....must have orange beast!
beautiful sound, so heavy
Why my pulsar 23 didn’t come with Red Copper Cables?
Can make power electronics or death indsutrial with Pulsar-23?
So many different sounds!

Just use CV mode and it will be assigned to one note
My neighbours will love it
Can you get constant drone from bass module without using midi keyboard gate? I guess the looper will sustain a note?
yes! on any pulsar module you can get a constant drone
Great
А на великом и могучем есть обзоры?

You can order military green Lyra in EU division. The rest unique colours - need enough orders to do it. But you can leave a request
why subtitles unavailable?

Does percussion mode track volt/octave cv?
Yes
One day.... I'm getting one
Is there a way to connect an electric guitar, using this like a guitar pedal? How would you recommend the most professional way to do this?
Just amplify a guitar in any way you want to get 5-8 V p-p signal
Truly interesting! Will these be seen at NAMM?
we will be with Pulsar on PCA postnamm meeting
when does the shipping start ?:x can't wait anymore
Already started!
Wow
This thing sounds alive¬!
If you've ever used the Lyra, then you have no idea how alive these things can be. They're unique.
What was the wood at ua-cam.com/video/NPWONWkzX1s/v-deo.html for? Did you hide something behind it?
