I dont even want to think about refreshing steering or suspension parts. It means work and I am sure 300,000 miles has took a toll on my junk. Good DIY video!
GearHead704 - Yeah I don’t know about that. Just like your SSP, I keep finding more stuff in need of repair. Looks like my next video will be brake hoses!
Let me ask you a question. I have a 86 Lincoln Continental, and it’s the exact same everything like in a fox body. However the master cylinder is different, and blocks my access to the steering shaft. So I was thinking of just disconnecting the rag joint. Any reason you think I couldn’t do that?
@@Foxedup Thanks. And you were right. It was a horrible pain at the rack. I had to pull the rack back off and them slowly millimeter at a time slide the shaft back in. I'd tighten the rack a bit then hammer the joint over and over. But I got it in. Thanks for the reply. Most helpful dignify channel on UA-cam!
Very helpful, thanks
Nice video, helping to motivate me to switch out the steering rack left from my car's 4 cylinder days.
It’s a pain and everything is usually pretty nasty on these old foxes. Good luck!

Ha ha yeah I’m not excited about doing the work, but sooo looking forward to driving it with everything tight!
Looks like you'll have all your suspension done before me. Keep grinding man 👊

Nice upgrade !!

Probably would of been easier to install them into the rack first
I’ll try that on my next one!
What's the best way to get the tag joint back on the rack? Please help, I'm in the middle of this job.
Oh geez I’m not sure! I ended up just taking my steering shaft loose close to the firewall because it was too much of a pain at the rack!
House of Dula’s steering rack video might help. ua-cam.com/video/4-HAaqgZCLQ/v-deo.html
