I had nexplanon and HATED it. It amplified my anxiety and depression by 10x. I also bled for 43 days straight, after having it for about 6 months. I had cysts popping every other month, and I also got migraines and hot flashes the first couple months with it.
It might be great for some, but definitely not all women!!

I despise the nexplanon I have. So much continuous bleeding at the beginning. Mood changes, depression & anxiety are much worse, and the constant cycle of pain that comes with bleeding every 2 weeks. My periods are so painful that I spend the majority of the time in bed on heating pads and using a tens unit. To have to experience that even more often is constant torture. My obgyn's response is that bleeding this often is normal for nexplanon. Just take Ibuprofen & Tylenol. I can't take NSAIDs by mouth and Tylenol doesn't do anything for this pain. So frustrated!

@xjwxsweetness were your periods that painful before, or only after getting it? If they were that painful before, that's absolutely NOT normal. Please don't let doctors tell you otherwise. Please go for a second opinion. You may have Endometriosis or Adenomyosis or even PCOS. Severe pain with periods, to the point where you can't function normally, isn't normal. Find a doctor that will actually listen to you. Please. I was told that my period pain was normal, even though I was spending days in bed with a heating pad. I later found a Dr who actually listened and did surgery and found that I had very severe, stage 4 Endometriosis. We have to stop "normalizing" severe period pain! It's. Not. Normal! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this.

@@MissaLVT Yes, my periods were that painful before. I have asked questions as to why and also asked for help dealing with the pain and disruption to my life. The answers I usually receive are we don't know why you experience this and take Ibuprofen and tylenol. Neither of which helped me. Also as of May 2022 I can't take any NSAIDS. I take the target brand of pamprin (it gelps slightly more then tylenol) and live on heating pads. I am miserable! With Nexplanon I bleed every 2 weeks. The damn thing is coming out on Wednesday 11/8 and I am so ******g excited to be rid of it!

Nexplanon has been fantastic for me. I'm on my 3rd. I haven't had a period in years. I have gained weight, but I cannot be sure that my weight isn't due to multiple other factors.

My mom is very against birth control, she thinks it's a sin. However, i hadn't had my period since june 2022, and managed to get an appointment, got on the pill (halfway through my third week), and now getting cramps back. Never thought i'd be excited about cramps, but i'm hoping it means my body is working again!

She might think it's a sin, because she doesn't understand the purpose of a pill..it doesn't kill "a life", but kills the sperm even before meeting an egg.
It really think that's their impression (either moms/parents).

My ovulation with nexplanon has been suppressed for 3 years now. I had it for 12, never got a period during and even afyer coming off it took 2 years to kind of get a normal period. May have PCOS but who knows, my dr wouldn’t do any labs or ultrasound, just pills that never worked.

I had a 7 month wait to get pregnant from the time that my next shot was due (this was 20 years ago) and I wasn’t happy with the heavy breakthrough bleeding on it, but many women love the Depo shot. I had mirenas between each of my babies and now and I love them. I love no periods, no hemiplegic hormonally triggered migraines, and no pregnancy fears…..

Progestin only methods don't always stop ovulation. They work mostly by thickening cervical mucus and thinning the lining of the uterus.

I LOVE all of your videos and I've been sending them to my daughter that's about to be a 1st time mom... But I just had to say I guess there must be something wrong with me, because after I had my daughter @ 6 weeks I got the DEPO shot, but it was like I was on a light period the whole time I was on it... So when I went back to Dr. I wasn't sure what birth control I wanted to use, because I didn't want that again... So they said "oh you have some time to decide" because it "the DEPO" would still be in my system for a lil while... 2 weeks after that I found out I was pregnant with my son....😁🥰😄 which I have always been so grateful for because they grew up together... But I have always wondered if something was wrong with me, because I think I literally got pregnant the day the shot wore off..... Any ideas on how or why???? Would love to have your input.... Thanks so much 🥰😊😁😁😁

i have it right now and i absolutely hate it. i’m not sexually active so i don’t need it however my mom insisted so i got it but it was constant heavy flow all day everyday for 10 weeks straight. now my periods last about 3 weeks and on the off weeks it’s super heavy discharge and it’s always uncomfortable
might be tmi but i wish i saw this and looked over it before i got it so might as well help the next gal who stumbles across this

I don’t recommend nexplanon. Whatsoever. For any reason. Bleeding multiple times a month every month on top of a regular period every month. Ain’t nobody got time fuh dat.

What about with birth control pills? How long would you say after being off birth control pills are you able to get pregnant?

    • @tanyelosilade
      @tanyelosilade 9 місяців тому

You can definitely get pregnant right away after birth control pills. It doesn’t delay ovulation long term. Once you stop, the effect is over.

Considering you take a pill everyday, if you miss a day and have sex, its likely for you to get pregnant. It's something you have to keep up with consistently

The nexpanon ruined me I gained 200+lbs after I have both to my daughter without being be able to lose weight at all... and also bled like extremely scarily bad for like 2 times as long as usual always... and I finally got it removed and still have not been able to lose weight (one been trying) but it's just not worked for nothing -__- I absolutely cannot stand being so FUCKING big it literally makes me feel so depressed and shit so bad I literally wish MORE THAN ANYTHING I WOULDN'T HAVE EVER GOTTEN THAT IMPLANT... not too mention they literally gave it to me while I was still completely out of it after giving birth they literally let my BF sign the papers for it and shit I had no idea what they were even doing to me... until later on I noticed it in my charts and shit... HELLA FUCKED UP, & then the doctor that tried to give me my epidural literally stabbed my back 16 damn times and never got it in to the point where I was literally like having contractions and I had to tell them 2 stop because I could feel her head coming out under where I was sitting up at like sitting on it basically... and so I had to go all natural.. but it only took like another 30-40 minutes after that to get her out thankfully only like 2½hrs from the time I got to hospital and the nurses broke my water. (cuz it didn't brake by itself) lol
