What I really like about the first game is that it creates an authentic medieval world without needing any transcendental stuff like magic. It is just a good story and the game has a very informative compendium where one can get a lot of background information about the characters, the time period and all the things that surrounds the daily life in the medieval times. It is in many ways a medieval simulator, maybe the best one existing on the video game front.

How do you feel about them simplifying a lot of things in KDC2? I have been insanely hyped for the game but honestly some of my hype died when I saw how many things they are "simplifying". Seems like they are focuinsg a bit too much on catering to casual players for my liking

@@bullythebooks Hi. Yeah, get it but I don't thing 'simplyfying' is the right word, per se...it looks from what I've seen like they've pared away excess fat...like the five directions of attack/defense...using a mouse/keyboard with those directions was rarely successful in the way I wanted it to be but once you had masterstrike hell, it didn't matter much...time your defense right and Bang, they're done for. Now you need to attack from their open side while they are actually in the stoke of attacking you and getting that timing right...seems it's an improvement, I feel. But we'll see and I get what you were saying. Cheers.

Yeah, I also had a hard time getting into the first game and only managed recently... but man, now I really like it. I couldn't stand the combat at first, now I enjoy it a lot. And the feeling of having the freedom to roam almost anywhere...

I have a similar story, man. I honestly feel like I wasn’t in the right mindset, or perhaps mature enough to appreciate the first game when it released. I was incredibly excited when they announced the kickstarter, but I was very into action games at the time, and scrambling to figure out my life in between graduate studies and two jobs. Now, I have a stable job and much more stable life overall, which enables me to sit down and enjoy this more contemplative game. And surprise surprise, KCD now sits among my most favorite games of all time.

My story is almost the opposite. I got into the first game with no trouble then hit the monastery quest. Now, I was raised a Catholic so I understood a lot of the Latin, love classical music and Gregorian chants (so loved the score). I was just like, lets go on with the quest! I hated it the first time. On a second play through I knew where we where going and I could settle into the monastic routine and it was fine. I love the music in the whole game, it is glorious!

I recently played KCD for the first time. Incredible game IMO. Were there some things I didn't quite like? Sure. The combat never felt good even though I was proficient at it. Lockpicking on controller felt genuinely horrible, so I used M&K for that. A bigger issue I had was with how the game set up the main quest in such an epic way, but then the actual missions were majorly underwhelming (a budget issue no doubt). I hope these are addressed in KCD2. I'll be there day 1 either way.

They certainly have been addressed. They’ve stated multiple times that they were able to enact their true vision this time around.
Battles have also been significantly improved. This game is going to blow us out of the water dude.

03:19 I am playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 on the Nintendo Switch. I have spent over 30 hours still practicing the lockingpicking. I have open 10 chest so far. I love it. I have been skateboarding since 1985. I remember first learning to do an ollie took me 2 years. So I am use to these kinds of learning. After 1,000 hours practicing the lockpicking. I feel that I will be able to just get it first try every time.
I know a lot of people do not have that kind of patience or time. I am glad that this game design of the lockpicking for my style.

KCD has a simple lockpicking option in the menu which is designed for controller. (I believe they have swapped it in kcd2 where the simple option is the default and keyboard mouse one is toggalable)

The 1st game is stout & not 4 the faint of heart. I'm playing through the 1st one myself & have survived thus far by taking the stealth approach to those encounters that allow me 2 do so. The 1st game forces u 2 think, strategize, & implement actual tactics instead of diving in 2 fight w/o a thought.
