Sad story: I'm a budget player. You know, as a student I can't afford all of those expensive cards (have to save for my uni costs). Before ETCO even came out, I saw that it was around 25€, sold only from Privates, which had those products way before anyone else. I tought that when it'll come out it would've decreased in price, as it was already cheap from only the venditors. So I waited and didn't buy it. Well, I wake up a day and see it immediatly at 40-45€ and I was shocked. Like, wtf? Well, I had some doubts buying it at 25€, guess at 45€... Now it's around 65€ and more. Well, here it goes away. Do I regret it? Not so much. I know my limits, and even tho' he's pretty strong, I'm going to continue playing without it, with a Ultra Borrelsword and with some replacements for I:P and Apollousa, as I'm waiting for their reprints (hoping they'll be cheap). Why did I write this? Because there are a lot other budget players out there, and I think that some of them will regret not buying it while it was cheap and will start buying out stuff, with the fear that it could end the same way as Accesscode. Be strong! Some of them won't be able to contain themself and will start buying cards without controll, even if they couldn't theoretically afford them. I am also a budget player and I literally build salamangreat deck. I need strong T2 deck and that is on budget right now so that's wanna be salad I see that a lot of people play accesscode talker in their extra deck I was add in dueling book to but now I this I will be happy with borreload or borrelsword dragon to. Is really expensive in Europe is 50-60€ that cost me main deck with some hand traps so better buy like 3 impermenence or evenly to side that will be better for me
@@petarmalenica7839 bro, if you are looking for a L-4 link monster for salamangreat, I recommend you to use zeroboros, it and transcode talker as well as update jammer, have been a very good link monsters package in salamangreat, because as well as accesscode talker, zeroboros can wipe entire boards by itself, and is not too expensive, also it has cool synergy with the deck being a cyberse monster and only requiring 2+ eff monsters, so you can make it like with heatleo and other monster, or with transcode and jammer, also, it can gain a huuuge amount of atk if you are playing desires in your deck (wich has been very standard in salad for a while), and even more if you play like against eldlich or your opponent has banished cards, it is really easy to make in the deck and the eff to banish the entire board is also very easy to trigger if you have enough resources (wich most of the times you do, because lady debug + parallel exceed is pretty much zeroboros banishing the entire board and still keeping gazelle in hand), and the fact that banishes the cards is a blow out against eldlich and a lot of decks, also when zeroboros is comes back, it gets stronger because more cards were banished. I feel your pain friend. I just wrapped up my time in grad school (still finishing my thesis, but all other obligations are complete), so I’m on a budget as well. But, I will say that once in a while, a card come along that is just too versatile to overlook. Accesscode Talker is one of those cards. It can be used in many different decks, and it’s just so good that dropping $60-70 on it seems like it’s justifiable to me. I can run it in multiple decks I have (Sky Striker, Water, Dinos, etc.), and that makes it a big deal to me. If you’d be able to, I would try to save up cash for it. I quit playing the Dragon Ball Super Card Game to come back to Yugioh and used some of what I got selling that collection off to get Accesscode.
These attack modifier rulings seemed really confusing and inconsistent to me because it seems like an attack modifier that resolved once should be the same as something like borrelswords effect to get 2 attacks. Once borrelsword resolves the effect to be able to attack twice, it doesn't go away when he gets negated because it already resolved and has been applied. I used to think that attack modifiers should work in the same way, but you just have to know that the distinction is that that's not how attack modifiers work. A big example that helps me understand this is cards like apollousa, because in that case it's intuitive for me that the apollousa would lose attack when it's effects are negated, and the way the attack is gained is via the same mechanics as accesscode talker, which wasn't intuitive for me.
BOrrelsword one made a mistake, it doesn't lose attack. Reconfirmed. I also trimed the borrelsword part out. RUle of thumb: DOes it affect other monsters other than itself. Yes, Do not change, No REvert back.
That makes no sense, that would mean you cant lost wind a monster that uses an effect, if something resolves and cant be negated. Mst tv os right, just like if appolusa is out and gets impermed it goes to zero and no negates permanently since its counters, and if i lost wind borrelsword he is halved and one for effect wise. @HettGutt what you are thinking is correct. Monsters that only modify atk and def of themselves lose the modifications when their effects are negated even after the effect resolves. Borrelsword's atk/def modification doesn't get negated after it is resolved because it affects more that just borrelsword. That is what tombox's correction says. Any other effect that doesn't only modify atk/def still applies as long as it resolved successfully. So borrelsword's ability to attack twice, for example, will always apply as long as it resolved successfully, even is borrelsword's effects get negated with imperm after the effect has successfully resolved.
So.. if I had a Forbidden Droplet set & my opponent summon’s Accesscode on their turn, I can chain Droplet, at the resolution of Accesscode’s on summon effect?

What if a permanent atk loss was applied to something like gren maju, or even relinquished, and then their effects negated? Drop to zero, and then back up to what?

can it be trap holed for example if playing say time space or bottomless (traptrix deck) or cause it atk gain effect happens on summons you miss timing cause their a when effect ??????????????????

It has no other activation conditions, so it can be activated whenever you are allowed to activate a fast effect (refer to the fast effect timing chart from Konami), even as chain link one. In this scenario you would activate it in box C of the fast effect timing chart

When accesscode talker is summoned you can activate cards that negate the summon like solemn warning. If the summon is successful and the attack boost effect is used you cannot use cards like torrential tribute or bottomless trap hole. After the attack gain resolves the turn player has priority to activate any fast effects (if they do then you can build a chain), if they have no fast effects they want to use priority passes to you so you can activate cards like effect veiler, infinite impermanence, compulsory evacuation device, I:p masquerena, etc If neither player uses a fast effect then accesscode talkers effect to destroy can be used to which you can't respond. If your opponent adds to the chain Chain link 1: accesscode talker Chain link 2: abyss dweller (for example) Chain link 3: you can respond here with effect veiler, etc (to negate accesscode talker) Once accesscode talker destruction effect resolves both players have the opportunity to use a fast effect (turn player priority) before the destruction effect can be used again.
@tangenius @rama roy Um wait a minute. In the TCG, update jammer will have to be chain link 1 due to how SEGOC works. Turn player mandatory trigger effect (update jammer) Non turn player mandatory trigger effect Turn player optional trigger effect (access code talker) Non turn player optional trigger effect (ghost mourner). So they would have to respond to the last chain link (which is access code talker and thus can't use ghost mourner because that would be in response to access code's effect which can't be done.). What happens say when accesscode talker doubles its modified attack by way of say Mathmech Mathmech Multiplication? Will it return to its original attack (2300) at the end of the turn or the attack that it was modified to on summon?
So i dont know mathmechs too well, but i assume its cl1 access cl2 multiplication, so he would become 4600, then boost by lets say 2000, so hes 6600. I believe at the end of the turn he loses the double modifier goes away and he will return to 4300
Very interesting to see people not knowing(/remembering) that effect negation clears these types of attack modifiers, positive or negative, since negating your own monsters to remove their negative attack modifiers was one of the (many) strategies that Qliphort abused to hell and back at its peak
Is it a legal activation to use traps like Bottomless or Torrential in response to the summon of Acesscode Talker, even after its on summon trigger effect activates? Do cards like Torrential Tribute respond to the event that happened, (I.E. summon.) or does it respond to the chain link below it? (On summon triggers.)

I believed I was asking that since chains in response to attack declarations and summons have a special rule where every chain link on that chain is a response to summon, can I only respond to just the summon specfically and not Accesscode's effect.. But I've learned that Accesscode prevents me from putting anything on the chain regardless.

See this window of “on resolution” seems to only work in person bc after doing some testing online recently. I summoned Accesscode and my opponent could NOT vieler, imperm, lancea or gamma my Accesscode at any moment. After further digging it seems only effect that start chains can be responded to but for some reason In games the “on resolution” timing never happens with Accesscode.
I have a question regarding accesscode talker. If i have linkcross, 1x effect Zombie Monster and 2 token on the field, can i summon accesscode? On the card it says 2+ Effect Monster and linkcross and zombie monster are two effect monster, so i could use the two token as Link Material?

What would happen if you have a Mekk Knight in front of Accesscode Talker when it’s summoned while you have World Legacy Secrets active? Would Secret still negate Accesscode Talker’s non-responsive effect?

Uhhh how does the attack effect negation rulling work on a monster like raidraptor blade burner falcon? Cause it gains it on summon when a condition (aka the controller of this card on xyz summon has 3000 lower life points than there oponite) then it gains 3000 and becomes what I believe is a perminite 4000 attacker till destroyed will the 4000 become it's base 1000 attack?
It will go back to 2000. The general trend among all currently extant cards that modify stattage is "if an activated effect modifies only the stats of its own source card (such as blade burner falcon and number 17 leviathan dragon and access code talker.), then negating the effects of that source card will undo the modification, even if the source card's effects are negated only after the activated effect is resolved and applied" "further, if an activated effect modifies stattage of ANY OTHER card (such as borrelsword dragon and number 20 gigabrillant), then negating the effects of that source card after that activated effect is resolved and applied will not undo any of the modifications"

No, since it's not a quick effect. However if you send Necroworld Banshee and they chain Called By The Grave, you can chain Banshee since she is a quick effect.
Bloom is a trigger effect, so it must be activated before quick effects. It banishes itself as cost though so you can't called in response to it. BUT, if bloom was sent as a cost, they could called it before it has a chance to trigger in a new chain

Depends on the deck, but you could use synchro trish, borreload dragon, Borrelsword Dragon effect to half the attack and gain the attack allowing you to destroy by battle. You use number 60 dugares the timeless effect to double one of your monster atk over 4000 (assuming it has atleast 2000 or 2100 atk) and destroy MAX by battle. Hope these help.

Hey, I had a ruling question I was hoping you might be able to answer. The question is in regards to cards that can let monsters do piercing damage, and monsters that are unaffected by those cards. The scenario in question is a Geomathmech Final Sigma in the Extra Monster Zone that is linked to a Pentestag in my Main Monster Zone under it. Pentestag says that if a linked monster I control battles a Defense Position monster, I will inflict the difference as piercing battle damage. Overall question I suppose is, does Pentestag affect the monster itself by giving it piercing, or is that effect just applied to the game state whenever you attack?
Question: I summoned access code talker using a link 3 and link 2 so my talker is at 5300. Opponents turn, he played dark ruler no more to negate all monster effect. Does the attack boost go away since it wasn't negated when it was link summoned?
so if my opponent has an eldlich golden lord an his field, summoned by it's own effect (so it has 1000 atk more and can't get destroyed until the end of the next turn), what happens, when u negate him? he loses his atk and he can get destroyed?
My question is about the banishing a link monster from graveyard/field to destroy a card but can’t banish a link with the same attribute. Does that mean if I have multiple different attributes does that mean I can destroy multiple cards?
Up to six times, one for each attribute available to link monsters (fire, water, wind, earth, dark, and light). Unfortunately, there is no divine link monster.
Just want to double check. If I take my opponents link 3 monster and then use my monster to link into talker. Can then talker target my opponents monster and gain the 3K? Just wanted to ask because I had not ran into this situation till today.
I just came back to Yugioh after a few years away (I stopped when Links first dropped), and I just want to know if I’m using this card right... I had a copy of each, Bujinki Ahashima and Neptabyss, the Atlantean Prince in play. I can then link those two cards off to Link Summon Accesscode Talker? And Accesscode gains 2000 attack points since Bujinki Ahashima is a Link-2?
what if i activate Infinite impermanence or veiler against a monster that tributs it's self for cost? Does the effect resolve or not? ( my infinite is in a chain alone he activates his tribute effect on an another chain also alone without a response)
if imperm has already resolved on his negated card, his eff is negated even if it leaves the field, as effects that tribute for cost still activate and resolve on the field.
Hey tombox congrats on 60k subscribers. I have a ruling question, A friend activate deep sea minstrel and send dragoons for cost. I chain fiend griefing and shuffle back the Dragoons. So my question is, will Dragoon still resolve or is it miss the time?

if they got hit by a gale the whirlwind, the continuous multiplier is now frozen and will not go up or down negated or not.

Bottomless cant be activated, because it would have tocbe chain link 2, which doesnt work when access eff activates

It has no other activation conditions, so it can be activated whenever you are allowed to activate a fast effect (refer to the fast effect timing chart from Konami), even as chain link one. In this scenario you would activate it in box C of the fast effect timing chart

When accesscode talker is summoned you can activate cards that negate the summon like solemn warning.
If the summon is successful and the attack boost effect is used you cannot use cards like torrential tribute or bottomless trap hole.
After the attack gain resolves the turn player has priority to activate any fast effects (if they do then you can build a chain), if they have no fast effects they want to use priority passes to you so you can activate cards like effect veiler, infinite impermanence, compulsory evacuation device, I:p masquerena, etc
If neither player uses a fast effect then accesscode talkers effect to destroy can be used to which you can't respond.
If your opponent adds to the chain
Chain link 1: accesscode talker
Chain link 2: abyss dweller (for example)
Chain link 3: you can respond here with effect veiler, etc (to negate accesscode talker)
Once accesscode talker destruction effect resolves both players have the opportunity to use a fast effect (turn player priority) before the destruction effect can be used again.

So they would have to respond to the last chain link (which is access code talker and thus can't use ghost mourner because that would be in response to access code's effect which can't be done.).
In the OCG, since update jammer is optional (don't even ask why), you can choose to do chain link 1 access, chain link 2 update and vice versa.

What happens say when accesscode talker doubles its modified attack by way of say Mathmech Mathmech Multiplication? Will it return to its original attack (2300) at the end of the turn or the attack that it was modified to on summon?
So i dont know mathmechs too well, but i assume its cl1 access cl2 multiplication, so he would become 4600, then boost by lets say 2000, so hes 6600. I believe at the end of the turn he loses the double modifier goes away and he will return to 4300
Very interesting to see people not knowing(/remembering) that effect negation clears these types of attack modifiers, positive or negative, since negating your own monsters to remove their negative attack modifiers was one of the (many) strategies that Qliphort abused to hell and back at its peak

Bottomless/torrential miss timing because they say "WHEN a monster is summoned" and the last thing that happened is the attack gain, not the summon

Because the original attack became 1900 due to the summoning condition, since it gets negated, the "effect" that applied that change got negated

See this window of “on resolution” seems to only work in person bc after doing some testing online recently. I summoned Accesscode and my opponent could NOT vieler, imperm, lancea or gamma my Accesscode at any moment.
After further digging it seems only effect that start chains can be responded to but for some reason In games the “on resolution” timing never happens with Accesscode.
Make sure your simulator is on “always respond” so that you have the window to use cards on resolution.

No. Tokens are not effect monsters. 2+ effect monsters means all of them must be effect monsters.

Cause it gains it on summon when a condition (aka the controller of this card on xyz summon has 3000 lower life points than there oponite) then it gains 3000 and becomes what I believe is a perminite 4000 attacker till destroyed will the 4000 become it's base 1000 attack?

No, since it's not a quick effect. However if you send Necroworld Banshee and they chain Called By The Grave, you can chain Banshee since she is a quick effect.
Bloom is a trigger effect, so it must be activated before quick effects. It banishes itself as cost though so you can't called in response to it. BUT, if bloom was sent as a cost, they could called it before it has a chance to trigger in a new chain

Depends on the deck, but you could use synchro trish, borreload dragon, Borrelsword Dragon effect to half the attack and gain the attack allowing you to destroy by battle. You use number 60 dugares the timeless effect to double one of your monster atk over 4000 (assuming it has atleast 2000 or 2100 atk) and destroy MAX by battle. Hope these help.
Also if using dino, UCT outs him easily.

I always assumed MST stood for mystical space typhoon because "hold your MST" was the saying to someone who would normally shot-gun their mystical space typhoon (blind mst) so you hold it in case they had something like fiendish chain which MST would be able to chain to in order help stop you from getting your monster effect negated if you just held on to it, because if you just blind pop, you could hit a bluff and lose to the fiendish. And that is why I figured it was mystical space typhoon .tv, Tom Box even has a mystical space typhoon painting!

Hey, I had a ruling question I was hoping you might be able to answer.
The question is in regards to cards that can let monsters do piercing damage, and monsters that are unaffected by those cards.
The scenario in question is a Geomathmech Final Sigma in the Extra Monster Zone that is linked to a Pentestag in my Main Monster Zone under it.
Pentestag says that if a linked monster I control battles a Defense Position monster, I will inflict the difference as piercing battle damage.
Overall question I suppose is, does Pentestag affect the monster itself by giving it piercing, or is that effect just applied to the game state whenever you attack?
Question: I summoned access code talker using a link 3 and link 2 so my talker is at 5300. Opponents turn, he played dark ruler no more to negate all monster effect. Does the attack boost go away since it wasn't negated when it was link summoned?
Yes the boost goes away because it only affects itself
so if my opponent has an eldlich golden lord an his field, summoned by it's own effect (so it has 1000 atk more and can't get destroyed until the end of the next turn), what happens, when u negate him? he loses his atk and he can get destroyed?
No. He will be at 3500 still and won't be destroyed by card effects.

if imperm has already resolved on his negated card, his eff is negated even if it leaves the field, as effects that tribute for cost still activate and resolve on the field.
