  • We the church are like found artists who rework our theological inheritances, purging them of what has bedeviled us-racism, sexism, the ways we have drawn the circles of God's care too narrowly-and stewarding the life-giving parts of our past for the sake of the future to which God is calling us. This artistic process is sometimes painful, but as we learn from Flannery O'Connor, God's grace often comes in the hard moments. Join the Rev. Dr. Lee Hinson-Hasty for what promises to be a riveting interview on this topic with Dr. Jacqueline E. Lapsley, President and Professor of Old Testament at Union Presbyterian Seminary.

Gifts to the Theological Education Fund help ensure every Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation has a seminary-trained pastor. The fund is housed at the Presbyterian Foundation and is the sole source of denomination-wide funding for seminaries from the PC(USA). We rely on donations from Synods, Presbyteries, congregations and individuals to continue our legacy of support.

I am so glad that I found this. I am in a study group that is looking for a way forward. Being the church in the community is where we need to be answering who is my neighbor and how can we show that we are neighbors.
