I always feel great when I listen to Led Zeppelin , passionate, emotional, decades on, timeless✨. ‘In The Light’ is my favourite off “Physical Graffiti”.
Well, dude, you sure as hell picked a great day to get back to reacting to Zeppelin--Jimmy Page turned EIGHTY today! Yes! Amazing, huh? I recall your being gobsmacked by "In my time of dying" --I may just have to revisit that reaction after this, lol. My fav song from that epic album as well, probably! Those drums, that frenzied pace, the whole thing is just bone-crunching blooz-busting genius! It was a hoot seeing u rank PG's songs! I would have a hard time choosing as well!
The Rover is my top 3 on that album. Zep was here a couple of months before PG was released so we didn't recognize several songs but they sounded pretty good regardless. 1975 was an incredible year for rock album releases.
You almost finished the “Zepathon.” Keep it up. You still have plenty of their live stuff too. Not sure if you checked out In My Time of Dying from Earl’s Court in 75 but that’s epic too. We’re Gonna Groove into I Can’t Quit You Baby from the Royal Albert Hall 1970 too. Still loads of Led to get out.
Always enjoy your Zeppelin reactions. It would be great if you also checked out Peter Frampton- Do You Feel Like We Do live at the Midnight Special. Hope you're doing well brother 🍻
also forgot to tell you about early Genesis, you seem to be have reacted to late 70's stuff, but the first half of the 70's was their most prolific prog tunes, most adventourous.......you can try The Knife, Watcher Of The Skies, The Fountain of Salmacis, and the granddaddy of them all, Supper's Ready
Pope, I don't think you have done this one from LZ BBC SESSIONS called "The Girl I Love Has Long Black Wavy Hair." Please react to this song, it's so awesome!! Keep up the great work & music!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great reaction as always from you 🙂 I always feel this song starts as a potential classic, but then they don't quite know where to go with it and it fizzles away a bit........ 🙂 It's still brilliant though. Agree with you about In My Time Of Dying and Black Country Woman!
I agree with your ranking of the top songs from PG with the exception of In My Time of Dying. I'll have to check out your review of that song since I haven't heard it in a while so maybe I like it more than I remember.
In My Time of Dying is my favorite Song off PG. One of my top Led Zeppelin songs period....Sick Again, Rain Song, Tangerine, When The Levee Breaks...SO MANY good songs!
Love this song!! Has kind of a Rod Stewart and the Faces vibe to it! Hey, why don't you check out some Rod Stewart songs? My recos: "Gasoline Alley", "You Wear It Well", "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and "Infatuation". That's a sampling from across his lengthy career.
The lyric is "...to fight the fight FOR OUR EMPIRE"--remember these guys are Brits! Of course Britain isn't an empire anymore, but they were. To me, it hearkens back to Rudyard Kipling (writing during the British Empire period); in one of his poems he says, "It's Tommy this, and Tommy that, and Chuck him out, the brute! But it's Saviour of his country when the guns begin to shoot!"--a whole poem about how the treatment of soldiers during peace and war. Not sure how it all makes sense in the text of the song, but that's the line anyway.
most of the greatest prog rock bands are British.....the greatest American Prog Rock Band could arguably be Kansas.....you need to listen to the whole side one (4 songs) on the 1976 album "Leftoverture".....one of the top ten album sides of all time Miracles out of Nowhere is miond blowingly good with two lead vocalists as one of the many highlights......also another recommendation...12 minutes of psychedelic craziness, The Fool by Quicksilver Messenger Service (1968)......on the Deep Purple front - "Fireball" and "Burn"....these songs have not the same lineups...different singers on each
Custard Pie....... to give the original 3 artists credit for this song!!! Hey man- just like old times... but gotta be better than 5 months. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
It's hard to separate Night Flight from Wanton Song... at the end of Night Flight, I'm always waiting for the opening of Wanton.
Great song...

This song always makes me think of my old friend Big Al . Physical graffiti was always playing when I went over his house. 😎
Robert is from the "black country"...brought up in Wales.
Believe it's very working class.
Another singalong side to Zep. This album shows so much variety ❤

Whoops! Thought you were redoing In my time of dying, yea I wouldn’t call this a favorite, but still thank you.
Hi Pope, You might enjoy “Too Rolling Stoned” by Robin Trower. Guitar is cool. 😎

Hey Pope! What time is it? Time to get THE LED out❗️❗️❗️🔈🔉🔊😎
you should check out Dont Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. Classic psychedelic rock
How about Boogie with Stu? I named my cat Stu in 78 because of the song. You can’t sit still
Black country woman is an homage to Skiffle, the music young Jimmy Page grew up playing,😉
Ya BCW is not really one of my faves either Pope!
