I feel for everyone dealing with rent that fluctuates so drastically. And, while I absolutely hate moving myself, I do love me some moving content.......so you know I'm here for all of it!
the prices are crazy, I feel lucky to have found a reasonably priced new place!!
Uh what?! People said you weren’t independent? You pay your share of the rent, groceries. You bought furniture. Only difference are the two roommates. You are extremely independent. I think people who comment don’t actually live or understand big city life when it comes to rent. Even smaller cities are experiencing rent spikes so it’s a true indicator of how much rent you want to pay. I will say you are showing more of your friends this time. This is my perceived view. I actually started watching your channel over a year ago on a regular basis. Before I would visit but wasn’t a regular. Good luck with everything.❤

I'm very grateful to be in a rent controlled apartment, so I've been here 8 years. $400 rent increase is insane. That said, moving costs are pricey, too- broker fees, first and last, movers...moving in NYC is no joke.

Omg I learned the struggle of a north facing apartment when I lived in one in Minnesota during covid era. It was so depressing. Always try to get a south or west facing apartment for sure!! I live in a west and north facing now and get so much sunlight in the afternoon it gives me so much serotonin 🌞

I agree. I had a roommate. It was the best decision for both of us during that time. I decided to get my own place in late 2019. It's been great. Now, rent for my 1 bedroom is more than our 2 bedroom/ 2 bath. I'm thinking about getting a roommate again. I don't care what people think who aren't paying my bills.

I think you reach an age where living alone becomes a priority. Alexis is still in her 20s.
I can’t afford to live by myself right now in a space that has everything I want, so living with my best friend is what works for me right now 😊

Wow! $400 rent increase. That's crazy! I live in a studio apartment in the bay area and my rent is $1500/month with free electric (pg & e) and she only raised my rent once in 5 years.

$400 is wild. I am renting a house and my rental increase for the new year is $35 more a month.
You can be independent and still have roommates.
I was a little disappointed when you moved from your studio. I am not sure why I even cared. I guess because I love living by myself, and always have. We are all different, and I am happy for you. I am looking forward to your redecorating vlogs, and of course your sweet cat.
