- I restore an old rusty dagger that had a beautiful handle underneath all the rust. This dagger knife restoration project was fun removing the rust and polishing to a beautiful shine. I hope you enjoy this rust knife dagger restoration project.

Patient like a saint , knowledge of a sage... top marks. Looks amazing
I initially thought the handle was ivory. Excellent job.
I like the revival of antiques, good job.
Brilliant! I loved the cake cutting, makes a change from the normal slicing bits of paper.🍻🍻🍻
Fantastic work. The only gripe I have with your videos is the polishing of steel.. you never sand the scratches out fully before polishing!!! Other than that, brilliant vids keep up the good work!
It’s restoration numnuts
Sometimes the scratches and pits can't be fully sanded out without further compromising the integrity of the blade. So it's the lesser of two evils, in the end.
@@ynysafalon Thats fair for the pits and deep scratches, I was more talking about the scratches made by sanding through the grits. If they aren't taken out properly, it shows through a lot in a polished finish. Theres loads of good techniques on UA-cam for a great mirror finish when hand sanding as much as he does in this vid! Just good to keep learning and expanding skills :)
@@charliebowen5071 It's restoration, not preservation. If you're that worried, then he shouldn't be doing anything to the profile of the blade either 'numbnuts'...
Awesome job! That handle though...wow!
Watching videos of restoration project is the best thing a girl can do at 1am. 🤗
Can you do a full restoration on your red vice? I have one that's identical and it'd be really cool to see what it would look like completely refurbished.
beautiful handle on that dagger ,
badass dagger
Great work, getting it looking like new.
Wow Really good hand work..

Good job 👏
Nice work 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
Awesome😎🤘
Great job!
Beautiful restoration good job mister well done
Okay, I have one question. What in the world is that thing on the tang?? It makes the whole thing look like it should have been an antique folding knife. Thoughts?
lovely
I loved it, you are the best guy.
General Mattis once said to always carry a knife, for cheesecake… or if you need to slit a throat.
You cutting cake reminded me of that.
You should restore the red vice next!
Great job, but I don't know what looked better, the knife or the cake. Yum
It looks great and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!!
Enjoyed the video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Nice work!! Thanks so much for the Flitz love! Much appreciated!! 👍👍👀
NICE 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Im working on cleaning up an old knife and there are little pits/divots in the blade. I grind and grind but they don't seem to go away. Im looking for a mirror finish. Am I expecting too much out of this old blade?
Never seen a tang constructed like that.
A small bolt, decapitated, flattened, cut to length and riveted to the blade .Fascinating.
Unable to source a die-nut ?
Great job 👌👍
This channel is underrated…
Excellent job 👏
Vary noice!
The handle looks just like duck!!!! //Lars
Who else caw like crow when you see Flitz? Mag Dad HA.😁
That cake looks 🤤
On the upper side of the dagger, the handle has been bent 90 degrees. It is supposed to stand out in a straight line to protect your hand.
The guard at the tang, yes, it does appear bent - but it could have been made that way. I was more concerned about how he left the actual hand guard crushed, rather than straightening it out.
what's the name of this dagger?
Very good job, however, this knife should have some cement in the handle for better balance. This "knife" originally was made with an old bayonet blade.
Definitely heard your voice around 132-135 ish👀😌
Looks amazing. Happy birthday? Anniversary? Whatever we are celebrating? A certain trial going well for the defense?
marine corps birthday, they basically re-enacted the cutting of the cake with the sword
@@jasonsdeli610 OH. Yeah. November 10th. My dad was a Marine so I always tell him Happy Birthday Scumbag. He was in Vietnam and when he completed boot camp, they were all scumbags according to the DI.
I mean does one really need a special occasion to enjoy a piece of chocolate cake?
3:18 sounds like Chewbacca
My question is, why are there any dislikes on this video? Hate when dudes restore knives?
The Persian fighting ....cake knife
Very good job. Surprised you didn't straighten out that bent guard. It's not supposed to be that shape. that's what you get after you hit someone with it, or drop it. (Both at the tang AND the hand guard)
what's the name of this knife?
@@ДастанЮсупов-л7б - I don't know? Ralph?
@@tbelding Ralph what? I can fnd Finnish pukko and British Gurkha kukri, nothing with 'just Ralph'
@@ДастанЮсупов-л7б - You asked what its name was. Some swords had names, like 'Excalibur'. I didn't name it. I don't own this knife. As for the type? Probably Turkish or Iranian, but I don't know for sure. Look up yatagan - they're similar.
@@tbelding We are talking knives and you switch to swords... moreover you pretned to know what happens to guard...
Lost &Restored, babbler detected. Doesn't know a thing.
all that........to cut cake
You can use hydrogen peroxide to remove rust off of nickel and other metals ik this because have tested this on other metals and it only takes a few minutes due to it having germs and no it doesnt eat at the metal and the only thing that eats the metal is vinegar any type of vinegar eats at the metal tried it with other stuff and ate right through copper and nickel and zink
güzel iş
👏👏👏👏👏
10:54 Happy birthday? 🙃
I had a knife of exactly the same design in 1946. But mine had a handle that was made of mother of pearl pieces inlaid with silver and the blade was engraved with Indian characters, a prayer maybe.
what is it called?
New sub one tranks your
It's not a restoration, just a polishing

That looks like it's made from a cut down sabre bayonet.

такая работа напильниками и натфилями это - рестоврация ? можно провести переделку , вернуть функциональность , но это не реставрационная работа .
Тортик вкусный?
🤝👍🏻✊
shiny! looks very pretty now.
tbh, i kind of liked the patina look the handle had, but no one ever does that in these youtube restoration videos, so i understand the audience probably wants to see the whole thing shiny.
The cake is better than the dagger.
Nice video, but we really do not need to see you fastening your vise to the bench in every video.
Am I the only one who watches these to sleep?
No I do as wellllllllllll zzzzzzz.!😂
It's NOT a dagger
The poor tang on that knife :(
Мне не хватает комментариев...
This knife is a strange combination of different parts: low quality hand guard, bolt riveted to tang. Cheap nut. The blade seems to be forged but feeble tang. Handle cheaply made and no sheath.
why didn’t you straighten the finger guard?!?! it had obviously been bent at some time and needed it. sorry, but this spoilt (for me) what was a nice restoration.
It matches the shape and curve of the blade. I liked the symmetry of the two together.
👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍

You did a nice job, but probably spent ten times longer restoring this than the slave children in the Bangladeshi souvenir factory did making it.
Come on... You shouldn't cut cake with this sort of dagger, until it's drenched in russian blood
