"Will Smith is great, but I'm ready to be me". I felt that! How many people are being a character in their own life? It serves a purpose & can be enjoyable to a point or a burden if you don't leave room to be yourself. Being your true self can become a burden for others because they can't handle it & don't want to adjust. People who don't truly care for you want you to remain ONLY the character because it's easier for THEM.

My aunt worked with Will a few times as an extra. She said he is such an amazing person, kind to everyone and interacts with everyone. She said if he had shrimp and lobster during breaks and meal times, everybody had it. Very generous. Sure, he can afford it, but many celebs are actually pretty stingy with their money. He also kept a promise to his grandmother that his music would never be graphic and contain poor language. This is a solid guy, a stand up man and has features about him that we should should all strive to have.

I can second this. While he was filming in NY, he stayed in my apartment building in NJ. He went to the gym twice a day and spoke to everyone. I even got a picture with him. He is so personable that he even yelled my name out when I went to the gym in the evening as I was surprised he even remembered it. We had tons of celebrities and athletes stay in my building but none was as friendly and engaging as Will. He’s one kind for sure.

It’s easy to judge others from behind a phone, but hard to put yourself and your faults out there for everyone to see. I think in this day and age, transparency is refreshing because life is better when it’s lived authentically. Since most people are used to seeing perfection everywhere, when someone shows their failures, it’s uncomfortable to people. I’m glad Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are keeping it real and showing people that life is not always going to be perfect. You’re going to have ups and downs but the most important thing is to focus on the good.🚀

Any healthy person knows everyone has strengths and weaknesses, things they are unconscious of and things they are working to improve. Only unhealthy people (narcissists) project an image of perfection for the world and expect others to be perfected without flaws (not talking about the abuse which is more than a flaw). Self revelation regarding ‘authenticity’ in a public forum is just a pr exercise. People who are living authentically don’t need to make money off how ‘authentic’ they are nor do they stand on a soapbox to preach and look for self congratulations about how authentic they are. wow, you have really been punked on this.

This all makes sense, especially after seeing the Today show interview. I worked with you (Will) for 'The Jump' and meeting you was like meeting every role you'd ever played, in one person, something I even mentioned to my father whose a big fan of the characters you play... makes sense because I was meeting "Will Smith" not YOU. Really great stuff I cannot wait to read the book.

I feel so bad for Will. I have not felt judgemental even once since him and his wife have been revealing so much about themsleves and marriage. Please stop projecting on celebrities. They are humans like you.

Will in the Oscars demonstrated how the physical violence he experienced as a child shows up in his life today. Very sad that he has not been able to rise above it.
