Question on the tall vertical siding, what do you do on the seams? I used 4x8 sheets and I have a top seam, do I need to treat the edge? Also, your trim, can I rip 1/2 inch plywood and paint that for my trim. Should I use caulking on raw seams? and cover with trim?
These are all very good products however with todays other costs competing for our available dollars they are not budget friendly. I would use them exclusively if the manufacturer or Home Depot would provide appropriate coupons. How many other viewers have this same concern and needs?

thanks for video. what kind of "trim nailer" is used? seems LP suggests on their trim videos to use a full head nail, but this video 20:40 seems to be using a brad, 15-16 gauge? ( ua-cam.com/video/QfRrqFr0KZs/v-deo.html )
Trim nails may be used to attach trim. Please reference the Alternative Fastening Option - Trim Nails section found on page 3 of the Trim & Fascia application instructions.
@21:19 Definitely not flashed properly… It’s not really doing the job of flashing… water can still get behind it and it’s going to leak. Rookie mistake 😅

LP states to install window directly to 2X4 framing, not to the LP Smart Siding. Why are you showing it otherwise? From LP Website: Always install your windows and flashing to the studs before you hang your LP SmartSide panel siding. Carefully cut the window opening in the panel with a 3/16-inch gap along the sides and the bottom of the window, and a 3/8-inch gap along the top.
I'm curious about this too, seems like all the videos I've seen, are doing it this way, but I see what you see in the instructions. Seems like it's a difficult situation. You install the windows in the outside and you've water getting in at the top. You install the windows in the studs and you've got no obvious path for water to escape that flows down the siding and meets the window, and just caulking keeping the water out.
@@jeffunk7 Ultimately figured out you can do either / or after speaking with several others. Just make sure it is flashed / caulked and trimmed properly and it shouldn't leak.
We highly recommend the smart siding with the radiant barrier!

No Z flashing between top and bottom siding pieces when stacked on top of each other?
These guys are definitely NOT qualified to build, much less make a tutorial video 🙄
@@bighammer587 I guess at least caulk or trim with caulk.
Where does one get that flashing for the top trim piece on the window?
What size and type of nails did you guys use to attach the siding?
That flashing is installed wrong. The large flat side is supposed to be under the siding above the windows and door, not tucked behind the trim.
What kind of nail is used?
Where do I find the plans for that shed?

The guy in navy blue looks like Chris Farleys brother
thanks for video.

Yeah I was wondering wtf was that going to do lol
Might as well just ran a bead of caulk. Would work better.
online directions say not to cut bevel into trim edges... why is demo showing it wrong?

See if you can nail a little slower.
