  • The new (in May 2023) 12.2” Lenovo Flex 3i Chromebook in Abyss Blue.
There are more professional reviewers out there that will give you all the perfect specs. But I’m just here to tell you that you can’t go wrong just picking this device up if you just need a laptop and want to get to work. No frills, no fancy aluminum, just something that will turn on and work.

I agree about the difference between a laptop and a tablet with a somewhat flimsy keyboard attached. I'm looking at the blue Lenovo Flex 3i Chromebook now as I like the size of it and the fact that it doesn't have an internal fan.

Hopped on to reply to this one. I still like this Chromebook, but I recommend another color. The blue looks great, but really shows the grease marks, so unless you wear gloves you’ll get prints all over this thing.

I recently purchased the Lenovo Flex 3i Chromebook 4GB/128GB. It has a backlit keyboard with brightness adjusted using Alt + Brightness keys.

Truth be told most people can do everything they need on a chromebook these days. And I fully agree about the solidity of having a laptop with an integrated keyboard being prefereable. Its amazing oem's have taken so long to really upgrade this level of chromebook. The Acer R11 was a great device and I kind of see the flex 3 as its spiritual successor. I'm considering the new Lenovo Flex 5 14" which has 16:10 and 12th gen i3 processor. I attach it to a 4k monitor so having some extra grunt is required.

It's confusing why there isn't a whole lot online about this device. There was a good amount of press coverage when it was announced at CES, but after that Lenovo kind of went quiet. This device is supposed to be offered in a silver colour, along with an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option. Publications such as The Verge stated that model should also have a backlit keyboard, but I can't find anything about availability. This device isn't even on Lenovo's U.S. website. It seems that the base model in blue was quietly released in Best Buy in May, and that is the only place I can seem to find it.
It's a shame if Lenovo never decides to release the upgraded model. I really wanted to buy that version because I really could use a small Chromebook that isn't some gimped piece of e-waste. Almost all Chromebooks that are less than 14 inches these days use awful 720p TN displays and pretty slow. This Lenovo Flex 3i 2023 is the only Chromebook that I can seem to find that has a good selection of ports, a 1080p 16:10 display and is as compact as the 11.6 inch devices. I do think that $350 is a little steep for the base model with only 4GB of RAM and no keyboard backlight, but if that silver version with 8GB and a backlight keyboard ever comes out, I will definitely buy one. I've been using my old HP Chromebook 11 G5 since 2017, and it would be nice to upgrade to something that's more capable, not to mention receives current Chrome OS software updates. Although I will miss having a matte display, the 300nit glossy panel on this Lenovo is too dim to use outdoors.

Hi. Could you please do a short review. Mention real life battery life in hours, mention octave V2 score, kraken 1.1 score, geekbench 6 single and multi Score, mention anything annoying and everything you like. As for lighted up keyboard, don't expect that, because Lenovo makes Chromebooks without lighted up keyboards, otherwise they would have mentioned that in announcements before. They did not
