Too right! In my opinion there's more than hope, there's certainty! But when the people have been pushed too far and rise up in revolt, it is always the worst kinds of people who take control. You do realise the communist party of China has over 150 million members and 22 million applying every year in China. As an immigrant from China, I don't have any hope for Chinese people to stand up for themselves, not mention to revolt. Everyone expects others to stand up for them because it's dangerous to speak out in public, not even to take any further actions, e.g. protest or demonstrate. Although you see so many people outraged, they would appreciate CCP again once they get a bit food from the government and they would have started hating westerns as they believe the virus was made by US and spread from outside of China, I.e. blaming other countries and foreigners to have caused them starved during the lockdown. I remember news pieces about 2 years ago that were talking about how a dictatorship is able to respond more effectively to the Covid pandemic and it was showing the weakness of democracies. The response in democracies was slower and chaotic at first. Amazing how the optics have changed now. Democracy can be messy but it allows for better decision making overall.

You do realise the communist party of China has over 150 million members and 22 million applying every year in China. The CCP is a one party system full of progressives, liberals and conservatives all throwing their policies in the hat and fighting for that policy. Its not so different from western democracies, only they have multi parties. The Chinese economy is capitalist but with state control regulations to basically halt out of control neoliberalism like you get in the western countries. Plus recently the UN reported that China has lifted 800 million people out of poverty. Second largest economy heading to be the largest in 8 years.
The state of the world just keeps degrading and I don't think there is much more to wear down before a real breaking point.

Protests are very common in China, it's actually one of the ways the government receives feedback from its people.
As an immigrant from China, I don't have any hope for Chinese people to stand up for themselves, not mention to revolt. Everyone expects others to stand up for them because it's dangerous to speak out in public, not even to take any further actions, e.g. protest or demonstrate.
Although you see so many people outraged, they would appreciate CCP again once they get a bit food from the government and they would have started hating westerns as they believe the virus was made by US and spread from outside of China, I.e. blaming other countries and foreigners to have caused them starved during the lockdown.
I don't have any empathy for Chinese anymore, even my relatives in China as they have the same thoughts. They never want to understand facts and analyze the world but only listen what the government tells them, propaganda.
Only wish those who are innocent and have clear heads safe and alive.

And I do see that so many people will walk around with a virus, deadly or not, if they want to. Peoples rights end where someone else's begins. My comment is actually based on IF there is a true need to have a forced period of quarantine, then you have to take care of those people. If you don't feed them, you're just killing them.

I remember news pieces about 2 years ago that were talking about how a dictatorship is able to respond more effectively to the Covid pandemic and it was showing the weakness of democracies. The response in democracies was slower and chaotic at first. Amazing how the optics have changed now. Democracy can be messy but it allows for better decision making overall.
