- Social media videos have shown growing unrest in Shanghai as the city’s strict COVID-19 lockdown stretches into its third week - more than two years since the first case was detected in Wuhan.
Footage from the area reveals a city fraying, with riots over food and looting becoming more commonplace with supplies running low.
Anyone who contracts COVID-19 is sent to quarantine centres, some of which remain incomplete.
Often, patients aren’t told when they are allowed to leave.
Residents in the city have started taking to their windows at night, howling in frustration at the strict lockdown they’re living through.

Second, even if 95% of the population is awake to the lies, unarmed, it is much harder for them to fight back. Versus an armed population where the government has to be more careful and use more subversive means rather than come at citizens head on.
Just look at the history of the American Revolution, it pretty much explains it all. Took only one third of the population to send the Red Coats back to merry old England defeated, wounded or even in caskets.

Sadly I'm not surprised. I'm living down south in Dongguan and here if even 1 person tests positive, they shut down the whole city for at least a week. Now it's not as bad as it is up in Shanghai, but people here are starting to get pissed off about it too.
It is only 2 weeks. Last year, Viet Nam was under lockdown for a few months. The farmers could not sell their crops while the people in the big cities suffered lack of food. There were some protests since people were hungry but were met with soldiers, policemen. Parents of small kids were taken away if they tested positive with no regard to the well being of their young kids. Not enough words to describe the situation. Just remind myself how precious freedom is and to try ones best not to let this country falls into socialists/communists' hands.
I notice Vietnam has opened up to everyone, and unvaccinated people can enter with just a test before departure, same as vaccinated. Doesn't this seem like a huge turnaround?

One of my friends is there in a high rise apartment.
They are locked in the high rise building and the lifts are shut down.
The high rise building doors are padlocked and emergency exits padlocked.
They are running out of food.
Food orders are not delivered or are delivered to wrong apartment.

In Shanghai, been locked for 16 days and told we won't be released until at least the 28th of this month, after which we will only be able to move within our neighbourhood and no further. Vlogging every few days.
My community in Shanghai has been locked down for over a month now. I’m 7 months pregnant with gestational diabetes so getting food and the supplies I need to check my sugar is impossible. Every time I need to go for a check up because I’m considered high risk I have to call the police for permission and find some sort of way to get to the hospital since there is no transportation. I know many pregnant women who have called an ambulance and waited over 6 hours . The lockdown isn’t surprising but the lack of access to basic necessities and care is.

You cannot imagine the stress I feel, helpless to do anything for her, but listen to the horror of just trying to get basic necessities everyday. Terrified they will take you away, kill your pets you have had for over 10 years. Take you to another province, isolated, in the most appalling conditions, not knowing when you will be released. I live in a city in north eastern china called Changchun. Our lockdown has been going on for almost two months now, and is even worse. Some of my friends haven't been able to get food at all. I've barely been getting vegetables, no access to meat and no access to fruit. Been a hard couple months.

I'm really sick to my stomach watching it. And it's just a fraction of what's happening. Children are being separated from parents because of positive test. Pets are being put down, people are jumping to their deaths from those high rise buildings. Horrific
