The weird thing about heavenly gale is that it apparently doesn't benefit from ranged damage bonuses, making it pretty weak... Also, a few corrections: heavenly gale and subsuming vortex aren't endgame as you only need to beat the exo mechs to get miracle matter, making them useful for scal if you do exo mechs before her. The rusty beacon prototype also just now got nerfed in an update to inflict irradiated and poisoned instead, which makes it a lot weaker.
I'd still consider post mech weapons to be endgame. I always felt that scal and the mechs were similar in difficulty and depend on your build which is easier. I actually beat scal first more often, but that might be due to the practice i had for her previoulsy

I also like the vortex rework a lot, its like the devs did a full U-turn with how it functions (if you remember the first version years ago). Also, isnt the vortex and heavely gale craftable right after beating draedon? Or do they now require ashes of annihilation/shadowspec bars to craft?

I love these small updates to existing weapons, especially the Virid Vanguard one cause that one always looked so cool but felt ass to play and now its pretty much a cooler Terra Prisma which is awesome! I really hope they will touch the Tactical Plague Engine and update/buff that one, i love the concept of a summon weapon that uses ammo, hence being kinda customizable based on the ammo type you use but it sucks its so bad compared to other items you have at that point in progression :(
i have said it many times and ill say it again, the sentry is incredible and we need more creative active weapons like it sprinkled throughout summoner progression
When i played as summoner and fight wall of fl*sh, i used rusty beacon prototype, and when i killed wof very fast, i thinked about gitgutwo for a new perfectly balanced weapon. Thank you for this video (and rusty beacon prototype :) )

Honestly the Heavenly Gale still isnt great, it is the best homing ranger weapon for sure. But Soma Prime, Svantechnical & even Dragon's Breath do better than it in almost all situations.
@@ninolinho182 There are some really good bows throughout Calam, but I do find at late game the options for Ranger are not as good as options for the other classes.
oh yeah GitGud you should try Heavenly Gale with Quiver of Nihility and Daawnlight Spirit Origin because Heaven Gale can get both the bonuses and deal upwards of 20k per shot consistently
I'm generally pretty critical of a lot of Calamity's reworks making weapons needlessly complicated, but I must admit I think some of these look rad as hell.
The devs forgot how OP sulphuric poisoning was a while ago, the toxibow is another early pre hard mode bow that does ok damage but melts bosses with the de buff

Prior to being a support mage weapon Subsuming Vortex used to be a buffed resprite of razorblade typhoon which it has somewhat gone back to in the most recent change
i recently played calamity with a friend for my first time and i played summoner. didn't even know virid vanguard used to be so weird lmao. do note that the weapon does significantly less damage than other summons at that stage in the game BUT has absurd tracking making it a must against fast/dashing/teleporting enemies. HIGHLY recommend it was so much fun to use!
Anybody realize that the song used in the backround of one of the parts of the video is a slight slower, instrumental version of a song from Edgerunners. Either that or I am severely hallucinating.
about the rusty beacon prototype i was stuck on crabulon as i was to lazy to make an actual arena so i tried using the RBP which i had lying around on crabulon and it died instantly so i kept on using it until the mech bosses and even then i still used it every now and then when i struggled with a boss like Anahita & Leviathan
I´m glad that the Subsuming Vortex is back again,i feel like the support before was just not great and it was easier to just use The Wand and throw down a flarenado every now and then
if you say the sounds are pleasing to hear can you include a sample next time? i don't really have the time to do a playthrough of calamity recently and don't have a save file to test the weapons with
Could you maybe make a Video about the Omega Blue Armor? I feel like it doesnt get that much love even though it is an excellent Alternative to Bloodflare Armor(Only for Ranger and Melee though). Also its Set Bonus combined with Rage and Adrenaline can basically melt DoG.
4:28 Used The Hive + Swarmer combo against moonlord/pillars in my expert mage playthrough, and genuinely just couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous the damage was.
Idea for the RBP: Give it a different version of sulphuric poisoning that does 1/4 of the normal ones damage. Call it salphuric radiation or something.

heavenly gale is so good against scal i was doin like 70k dps just shooting it and over 300k with the charged shot
