I don't think that Moxie was ever really against killing people, he just doesn't want to kill innocent people. He has morals. He doesn't think it is right to kill innocents or children (bc they are innocent). He clearly has no issues with death in general though, because he does still work for I.M.P. which is an assassination group. They are literally hired to kill people. Plus, he IS a demon still. He grew up in hell, so he can't be entirely innocent. (Moxie, Millie, Blitz and Luna were all born and raised in hell, they were never humans)
It's also implied that their view on death is different from a humans. It's probably cause they know when humans die they'll end up in hell or maybe heaven, and it's not like a punishment for them, it's just where they live.
Demons can be innocent, cuz they never did anything bad to go to hell. They’re likely more moral than the dead humans lol. Even so, considering their existence is to kinda punish sinners (they’re demons so they likely exist for that reason) they’d have to be okay with hurting others but have a sense of righteousness to make them want to hurt bad ppl anyway.
Fun Fact: Fizzeroli’s voice actor is Beetlejuice’s musical actor, so his voice is naturally gravelly and I’m pretty sure there’s no filter (Just like Alastor’s VA) !
Yeah, Alex’s voice can do that really naturally, he says it’s actually easier than speaking in his normal voice. It’s using these muscles that protect the vocal chords, when you’re pushing your voice too far those muscles will take over, Alex is just able to manipulate them at will (There is a robot filter over it for Robotic Fizz, but the gruffness is natural)
All the actors are super talented! some people have said it already, but: Fizzaroli = Beetlejuice from Beetlejuice the Musical. Blitzo = Brandon Rodgers who does a lot of dark comedy stuff on UA-cam. Verosika Mayday = Marinette/Ladybug from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Moxxie = Zim from Invader Zim.
SO IT IIIIISSS ZIM OH MY GOD This whole time I've been listening like "Damn that sounds like Invader Zim" but for some reason I felt that I looked it up at some point and was wrong haha. Glad I'm not t h a t out of it
Fun fact: Asmodeus is an actual demon in folklore and is indeed associated with the sin of lust! His design is stylized here, but it’s based on his actual appearance in illustrations: a towering humanoid with the legs of a rooster and three heads-a bull’s head on the right, a human head in the center and a goat head on the left. Stolas is also an actual folklore demon, associated with astronomy and poisonous plant life. His most common form, like in the show, is a long-legged owl with a crown.
The reason why Helluva gives a more theater vibe might be because alot of the VAs are actually broadway actors and actresses! I believe the songs were written to fit the abilities of the cast
Ahhh shoot you missed the one song (I think it's called the Ballad of Moxxie) where Blitzo and Moxxie are put into a drug indused musical. It's long but it's my favorate
@@MathewMcKenna It's why episode 1 isn't my favourite, it gives the impression that Moxie is against killing when he's actually a perfectly competent assassin the rest of the series and even before in the pilot. Also late reply but whatever.
Just to let you know that there’s a few voice actors you may recognize but don’t realize are here That clown in the first song, Fizzarolli, is voiced by Alex Brightman who voices Beetlejuice And Moxxie is voiced by Richard Steven Horvits who voices Invader Zim (Day 3 of asking for a Stardew Valley reaction)
5:49 That song is even more depressing with context. When I first heard it while watching the series, I legitimately cried a little... and then the high notes killed me
I think someone already pointed out Blitzo’s name is pronounced as Blitz with the O being silent. In a sense it’s him cutting out part of his past which Blitz is hinted to have lots of regrets in. One of his regrets is his relationship with Verosika. Verosika herself is a succubus, and famous pop star for their world. From what we get to see Blitzo never took their relationship seriously and was only interested in the sexual aspect. Even to the point of stealing money from her until they eventually broke up. There’s a lot of tension with Blitzo and many of the other characters we meet. He has a mysterious history that gives him a past with a lot of important people. What this history entails is still yet to be explored but it is an interesting story to unfold. As for Moxie, while he is against killing a seemingly innocent family in the first episode, it is shown through the series that after nearly being killed by the family in that episode he’s been a bit more accepting of his job. He does still hold some semblance of morality but doesn’t hesitate to kill people that are either proven to be bad people or targets that give him enough reasons to kill.
Heck yeah, The songs in Helluva Boss are both freaking insane and spectacular! i mean absolute works of musical art. The VA's all did an astounding job with the vocals!!!
You notice how in Ozzie's song, at the very end, there is a faint whisper at the end that sounds like ghosts. I realized that the whisper is the note THAT WOULD have been sung it Fiz wasn't hit over the head.
Moxie and Millie are the best. My favorite scene of their's is them fighting a group of cherubs in the rafters of an opera house. There's classic opera in the background and the two are swinging along the rafters, shooting randomly and just straight fucking. It is the perfect example of their relationship.
when I first watched I skipped over "you will be okay" because it made me too emotional. I still cried now, but having you "here" also reacting to it certainly made it easier to handle
I agree, “You’ll Be Okay” in just the second episode gut-punched me with how good and moving it was. I’m used to “It’s okay / you’ll be okay” being said as a blatant lie to children to make them think nothing bad or painful will ever happen. So to have this parent sing a song to his kid about how, yeah, one day he’ll be gone but she’ll still be okay, was enough to make me close to tears. Beautiful production on the song, and the VISUALS of what’s looks like the heat death of the universe while he cradles her and keeps her safe… 😭
so, "looloo land" is sung by the robotic version of Fizzarolli, "the house of Asmodeus" features the real Fizzarolli. so tno, they're technically not the same person. Also, both Fizz's are voiced by Alex Brightman, ofc a well known actor and singer who's starred in Musicals such as School of Rock and Beetlejuice. Asmodeus was also voiced by a musical artist, namely James Monroe Iglehart, who i believed played the genie in the stagemusical of Aladin
funfact: Ozzie's voice actor is James Monroe Iglehart. He actually performed and sang in many famous musicals, such as Broadway's Aladdin, Hamilton, Hercules's musical, and many others. funfact 2: And Fizzaroli's voice actor is the same as Beetlejuice’s musical actor.
It's not that Moxxie is against murder in general, since he works as a essentially a supernatural hitman. He just has an issue killing certain people. Plus the song is about what he loves about his wife, so it's less focused on otheer stuff. Also the song was from the original pilot where the characterisation was SLIGHTLY different.
The last song was a finished version from a song from the pilot, meanwhile the first song was from the latest episode, so thats why moxies personality is fairly different
The Fizz in the second song is a robot version of the Fizz in the first song, so while his live counterpart’s voice isn’t filtered, his robot form’s voice is!
Just to clear something up. That wasn't the real Fizzeroli in the Lu Lu Land song. You missed it, but thats one of many robotic replicas made of him by Big Ozzy. Most are sex bots, but this one was bought for cheap to entertain imp children. It should be noted that Fizzorali himself has robotic arms and legs given to him by Ozzy. Hence his ability to stretch around like a rubber hose character even though he is just an imp. You should watch the show. Oh and to clarify something else. Moxie, Millie and others that look like them are imps. Not demons. Now they are also native to hell like demons. However they have no inherent powers to speak off beyond, aren't as physically strong as demons and are effectively a second class of citizen living under damned human souls (Alastor), demons (Charlie) and overlords (Stolas).
Day three of recommending the Crane Wives! They're a small folk music band, with some of their most popular or my personal favorites being: -Curses -Take me to war -Tongues and teeth -Never love an anchor -Allies or enemies
To be fair, Moxxie has morals. He just happens to have a job that requires killing people. In all seriousness though, I strongly recommend watching Helluva Boss in it's entirety. It is meant to be a spinoff of Hazbin Hotel but it holds up on it's own and (if I may say) it's a hell of a time. 😈🖤 Mathew: If anything happens to Moxxie and his partner, I will riot. Me: **Laughs in Season 2, Episode 3.**
Why I love Moxie so much is because of his stance on death. He actually has morals, but that doesn't stop him from killing bad people. I like that he would spare inoccent people and children when given the chance, and even though he kills people, the fact he chooses by the own goodness of his heart to not kill inoccent people, I say he's technically a good person!
I need him to watch Helluva Boss as well, you'll be surprised how much the latest episode (7) hits you in the gut. Perfect timing as well since Season 2 will premiere this month.
the actor who voices and sings for asmodeus is James Monroe iglehart- he's a broadway actor, he's also in hazbin hotel and has done work with Disney etc.
You should listen to the Hollow Knight sound track, it's BEAUTIFUL! My favourites from Hollow Knight have to be: - Sealed Vessel - White Palace - City Of Tears - Reflection - Mantis Lords
And of course, the main theme itself, Hollow Knight I really hope you listen to it someday as Hollow Knight genuinely has to be my favourite game, it's challenging but enjoyable!!
10:50 he wasn't against killing people, he was against killing family members (like he would kill just a random person on the street, if it's needed, but he wouldn't kill a man, knowing he is a father)
I don’t know if it’s in the works, but you should definitely do more of the Helluva Boss songs now that more episodes have come out! Off the top of my head I think you should listen to: Moxxie’s Bad Trip from season one episode six Cotton Candy from season one episode eight Owl In A Cage from season two episode one Look At This from season two episode six
So fun fact being that since doing this you have made reaction videos for miraculous... blitzos ex that sings the song at 7:43 and marinette... same voice actor 😂
It might feel like you're watching Broadway because Ozzie's va is the Broadway actor for the genie and the other one singing with him is the Broadway actor for Beetlejuice.
I hope you react to the actual series at some point the songs will hit even harder (especially the first one) with context plus the plot and character development is amazing
You Will Be Ok became my comfort song after this episode, and an ad came on right as the chorus started AHHH. Also, I think the singer is Sam Haft. Verosika is a succubus, so “luring them with sex” isn’t too far off the mark.
great video as always matthew !! here’s a suggestion if you’d like: reacting to dead end: paranormal park !! whether it just be the show in general or the songs from the musical episode, it’s a fun journey with cute animation and amazing representation.
So Moxxie's fine with killing. He just doesn't like breaking up a happy family. There's more about that. Suffice it to say, he sees everything he ever wanted, and doesn't want to mess with it.
If you liked these, you might like the music from Dead End: Paranormal Park. One of the songs is Fizzarolli's VA dueting himself, and most seem to love "You're My Frankenstein".
You should react to more songs! There are some good ones you missed torwards the end of s1, plus Alex Brightman has a couple solo songs in s2 (which are amazing btw) Basically every song in s2 is amazing though :)
I feel like for the last song he forgot that moxxie and millie are both demons that work as assassins. It seems pretty normalized to enjoy violence in hell so it's pretty in theme for them. I liked it a lot, because it was cute and the theme of the song was a thing they both related to. :)
Please do another with helluva boss. Stoles has another song called “owl in a cage” I think and he… his voice is just awsome. Also… the I.M.P jingle and churup song… and Striker singing with Norman Reedus voice… so good!
You should listen to Sodikkens music! Their voice is absolutely amazing in their songs! If you do, i would recommend Redmageddon, Hansel, Gretel, and misery meat! I absolutely love your content and i hope you have a wonderful week!
amazing video and u pointed out all the notes and parts that i absolutely loved too! i do want to say that u missed one of my favorite helluva boss songs- its called Moxxies Bad Trip, and its a beautiful dual song with disney style elements to it. (beware- some uploads of it on youtube cut off the last verse, shoot for the longer timestamp ones)
Fizzarolli is the one from the first song house of asmodeus, he's the real one. Robofizz is the one from the second song loo loo land, one of the many robotic copies of fizzarolli that's used for entertainment and pleasure
I would love to inform you that one of the characters is voiced by Alex Brightman, the actor of Beetlejuice in the Beetlejuice Musical. I love Alex Brightman and I love Fizz (the character he plays in Helluva) SEGUE: YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL THE MUSICAL THE MUSICAL
The guy who wrote the Helluva Boss songs is Sam Haft, the writer/main vocalist for The Living Tombstone. The exception is 'Oh Millie', which was written and composed by Parry Gripp.
Thank youuuu for coming along 💙I hope you're keen for some demony goodness lmao

Moxxie’s Bad Trip from season one episode six
Cotton Candy from season one episode eight
Owl In A Cage from season two episode one
Look At This from season two episode six
what’s funny is that both loo loo land and you will be okay are from the same episode. talk about a change of vibes
One thing I'd like to comment is how each song perfectly nails their vibes. A grand song about desire. Two people in love. A pop star. And a lullaby
Now this! This is an video I know!, Ima love!
WHEN CREATION GOES TO DIE-
I’m sorry, but that song is so good 😭
3:54 they c a n ' t
So fun fact being that since doing this you have made reaction videos for miraculous... blitzos ex that sings the song at 7:43 and marinette... same voice actor 😂
It might feel like you're watching Broadway because Ozzie's va is the Broadway actor for the genie and the other one singing with him is the Broadway actor for Beetlejuice.
The o is silent. Only enemies call him Blitzo
I hope you react to the actual series at some point the songs will hit even harder (especially the first one) with context plus the plot and character development is amazing
I'm glad to see "Vacay to Bone-Town" here. It's one of my favorites.
Version mayday’s actor also plays Marinette Dupain-Cheng
You need to listen to "moxxies bad trip" a song that is also in this series, it's really good
You Will Be Ok became my comfort song after this episode, and an ad came on right as the chorus started AHHH.
Also in ozzy’s song, when verosica sings the instruments change to give move of a pop song feel because she’s a pop singer. Just a nice touch i like
If you liked these, you might like the music from Dead End: Paranormal Park. One of the songs is Fizzarolli's VA dueting himself, and most seem to love "You're My Frankenstein".
You really need to listen to Moxxie's s bad trip, it's got some great character moments and sounds great too
Moxxie's fine with killing people, just not innocents and happy families, he's a moralistic assassin
Professionals have standards.
You should react to more songs! There are some good ones you missed torwards the end of s1, plus Alex Brightman has a couple solo songs in s2 (which are amazing btw)
Basically every song in s2 is amazing though :)
I just watched your hazbin and helluva videos last night, couldn't have timed this better!
Stolas' lullaby NEVER CEASES TO MAKE ME CRY😢
You should listen to Sodikkens music! Their voice is absolutely amazing in their songs!
If you do, i would recommend Redmageddon, Hansel, Gretel, and misery meat!
I absolutely love your content and i hope you have a wonderful week!
sometimes i forget that matthew is a professional musician
amazing video and u pointed out all the notes and parts that i absolutely loved too! i do want to say that u missed one of my favorite helluva boss songs- its called Moxxies Bad Trip, and its a beautiful dual song with disney style elements to it.
"fetishizing murder, that's a bit of a leap"
My guy that's half the series
I would love to inform you that one of the characters is voiced by Alex Brightman, the actor of Beetlejuice in the Beetlejuice Musical. I love Alex Brightman and I love Fizz (the character he plays in Helluva)
SEGUE: YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL THE MUSICAL THE MUSICAL
House of Asmodeus is such a freaking bop
Whooo! Glad you finally did this.
BRO imma go suscribing mathew rn, love this man
You gotta make another one of these soon! Their songs slap!
Please do more Helluva Boss songs! The queen bee songs and the season 2 songs are so amazing!
I am not familiar with this show so I was so caught off guard to hear that adult content. Also, I recognized Beetlejuice voice immediately
Yes……….yes
Please listen to Two Minute Notice it is a BLAST
Matt's face plastered unto the picture of the Australia is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen XD
10:50 No he was against killing a family, a person he's ok with it
Also I think you missed one more song called moxxie's bad trip
With the context of the episide the ending of the first song really wasn't very wholesome, but totally heartbreaking. D:
you really need to watch the actual show aside from the songs, it's amazing
The guy who wrote the Helluva Boss songs is Sam Haft, the writer/main vocalist for The Living Tombstone. The exception is 'Oh Millie', which was written and composed by Parry Gripp.
Fun fact: The guy that is the voice for Ozzie is the Genie from the broadway show Aladdin.
