Park Ranger Warns of Dangerous Water Conditions at Yosemite

- California's Yosemite National Park is known for its breathtaking views but now comes a warning about hidden dangers surrounding this season's waterfalls. Park ranger Scott Gediman says this winter's record snowfall is fueling breathtaking waterfalls but also dangerous conditions. Although the water appears tranquil, Gediman says it's off-limits and warns to stay away from it. Inside Edition's Jim Moret has more.
That is amazing. I cannot believe there is a waterfall and water where there used to be a meadow. I seriously doubt people will listen and stay away from the water though.

I know when i went their years ago the water fall was like a water hose now it’s like a real water fall and the stream next to it was empty you could build stone towers it was dried up

Yeah, california has been in a severe drought like for several years. I guess people wouldn't know how much lakes, rivers, and rain the state should really have.
Whenever someone tells you you can get swept away (down river) in just a few inches of water, BELIEVE them. I know because it happened to me. Now just imagine how powerful a mighty rushing river can be!

Back in the day when I lived in Northern Cali going to college, I got the opportunity to fly my hangglider off 3000' Glacier Point. The park service only allowed one early morning flight per day for a lucky dozen pilots so there was no atmospheric lift (thermals) available for an extended flight, but it was still pretty spectacular flying down the valley with the waterfalls and all.

I've only seen one waterfall up close and that was petit jean mountain in Arkansas. You could see the Arkansas river and the waterfall was amazing. This waterfall is amazing and looks so refreshing but wouldn't want to be near it. I love nature like this that can show off it's beauty.

It’s safe. I was there yesterday but there’s a lot of people so take your time getting to see everything and the half dome area is under construction and closed off lots of construction all around the park so only hiking to that area

If the water in the meadow is that freakin' cold, I can't imagine anyone going more than 2 steps in before Nope'ing the heck out of there.
The water in the meadow was not that cold. It's still water so my guess is the sun warms it up and also the soil probably does as well. The water in the rapids and off the waterfall, yeah that was cold as heck.
Has anyone though Yosemite Sam might be the reason for all this? They need to send the rangers to go find him before he finds the wabbit and eats him.

I was up there one year when someone waded just ankle deep at vernal falls and was swept over and killed. Shouldn’t “push” fear, but having a healthy dose of it can save your life.

oh no, there's no such thing as global warming, or climate change 😏
This amount of water happens all the time. Its a lot less water than the flood of 97. You would not even be allowed in the park if it was that high. Go find those who perished from the acid rain that was to destroy everything.
