- This video details how to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI). An EOI is required to be submitted before you can apply for any Permanent General Skilled Migration Visa (Subclass 189, 190 or 491). This video is going to provide a very simple overview with screen sharing to make it as easy as possible to understand.

Hi Nick and Pathway To Aus, is it possible not to get points for employment after relevant skill assessment with 6yrs overseas and 1yr in Australia. Somehow at the end of the application it appeared the employement points was not added to my points. What could be the reason?
"The nominated occupation is not associated with this assessing authority". I'm getting this error when i'm trying to select skill assessment details. It doesn't show me any select field near the nominated occupation. (I dont see the box for the ANZSCO code selection.)

I have read about some regions warning against multiple submissions of EOIs, even when submitted separately.
For instance, according to Victoria, “You can only have 1 active ROI submitted at any time.
You cannot submit a separate ROI for each subclass. If you wish to change the subclass or anything else on your ROI, you must withdraw the existing ROI and submit a new ROI.”
What do you suggest, please?
How long the professional year is valid for after completion date?

I have been working as a trade assistant since I got my skill assessment 3 years ago, but got my certificate just last month, so that means that I just get point with experience from the day that I got my certificate,

I think your advice is wrong, tell me if i'm wrong but..
Vetassess (the trades recognition company for sparkies) states that:
Licensed Trades - 6 years' employment experience (with no formal training)
Licensed Trades - 4 years' employment experience (with relevant formal training)
And you say you need 4 years of experience post apprenticeship, that would mean if you done a four year apprenticeship here in England you would then need to work a further 4 years so 8 years in total to be eligible from what you're saying, yet somebody with no qualifications is eligible after 6 years?? doesn't make sense to me..

Yes you may be able claim the bachelor points. You will need to check the education country profile that it is equivalent to a bachelor in Aus

I noticed that my profession is only eligible in a few states. Do you suggest that I submit EOIs in states where my profession is not on the skilled migration lists?
I suggest you potentially only put down 1 state. Many states will only invite you if you are only interested in that state
what is reference number?
Great Video!! Left me with a question tho. If after submitting EOI I somewhat manage to get more points (like imprvoing english level) can I update it and claim more points? Or should I submit a new one?

Hi NIck, thanks for the video. Can I update/ amend my EOI once after I file it? For example I filed my EOI with English proficiency level 7 later I got band 8 in the test, so can I update EOI with band 8 score?

You would need to check with the Education Country Profile if your qualification is the same level as a Bachelor in Aus

Work experience in an unrelated field, may not be able to be counted. I would recommend discussing your situation with a registered migration agent. You can book into this through our website

Dear I submitted one EOI for 189, 190 (multiple states) and 491 In September 2022 but I heard it's required to submit separate EOI for each state for 190. I can't understand why it's required if skills select website is accepting all in one shot. Now if I was wrong what shall I do shall I withdraw one come Eoi and submit separate? Please advise?

Hi I am planning to submit my EOI for south Australia under a family sponsorship -491 skill visa. As SA ROI is closed can I still submit the EOI? Do we still submit the EOI in skill select or SA website?
You can always submit an EOI, but I don't believe you can lodge an ROI for family sponsored with SA Migration. I think state sponsored is far more likely if you meet the requirements.
Hi, can I modify my EOI after I get an invitation to apply for visa? for example if i do NAATI after EOI and can i claim the 5 point of NAATI during Visa?
Why would you alter an EOI after you have already been invited? Once you are invited you only need to show you meet the points indicated on the EOI.

Generally speaking if it is on the CEP list, it should be sufficient

Hi, you don't need the English for the partner, however you lose points
Hi Cris, my MBA was assessed as Graduate Certificate. This option don’t appear, so should I select Graduate Diploma, which is the same AQF level, in EOI?
Yes that should be ok (you don't get any additional points for Masters or Grad Dip anyway)
How to upload the passport size pic at the end if it does not get uploaded while lodging visa???
You don't need to upload a picture of your passport when you lodge an EOI

what is family sponsorship eligible? I have 2 siblings that are residents of Australia. Do they need to do something for me to vbe eligible? Or as long as i have siblings then i am automatically eligible? Thanks

You said to claim the 5poinnts for Australia study requirement, it is not actually that did you study in Australia for 2 years, but did you study on the relevant level.. can you please explain this?
Can I claim these 5 points? as my overseas education is assessed by IML and compared as education level of AQF, for both my Masters and Bachelors

Hi Nick,,,thanks for this video...If we aim for regional 491 or employer nomination but applicant cant meet Competent English, just functional english, can we still submit an EOI and just miss points or have a shortfall for English requirement? My husband is Carpentry-skilled earned in Dubai, UAE but his english is not that great. Would require time to enhance it. How do we remedy this?

You need to have completed year 12 to study a Bachelor. You may be able to study Adult Tertiary Prep if you have not

I’m married and I do not have any children. I would like to include my husband in the application so should I put yes to this question?
Because there is a separate question for the spouse
“ would client be accompanied by their partner in a future application”
And it is asking how many family members would you like to have on your future application” following the first family related question
So um bit confused here on what to put
Because some of my friends told me that they put yes to accompany their children only

Yes, you would just write 1 because you are including your husband on the visa.

You can indicate on the EOI that you will be available for each state without lodging many different EOIs

I have a positive assessment for my profession from ACS. I have been employed by my organisation since August 2018, however my ACS report says that my employment after September 2020 (the completion of my masters degree) is considered to equate to work at an appropriate skills level.
My question is, what would be my employment start date when filling my employment details, would it be September 2020 or August 2018)?
