- I made this comparison of the “All the Cats Join In” sequence from Disney’s Make Mine Music (1946) using the only completely uncut, uncensored video release [1985 Japanese LaserDisc] and the 2021 Blu-ray (which has the same altered frames as the 2000 VHS and DVD releases).
The entire “The Martins and the Coys” sequence was also removed from the domestic VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray releases, but it was left intact on the 1985 Japanese LaserDisc (with Japanese subtitles burned in to the image) and the 2006 Norwegian region 2 DVD. - Фільми й анімація

The change was made in the late 1990s.

It's great for those that didn't know about these changes, so we're better informed, and allows those who know, but don't want to go through hoops to get the original versions, to see them as they were originally released.

the darker colors make the original more pleasing to the eye, the newer/censored one looks too sharp and digital, it dont have that warm trails feeling. (look up trails in vice city if you dont understand what i mean)
Do keep in mind that the copy of the original that was used is an old SD video master made sometime in the 90's, perhaps from a duplicate print, and may not be representative of what the original film quality was.

This is modesty: protecting people from unwanted or unexpected triggers, instincts, reflexes, or arousal.
Civilization and Society and Modesty/Chastity are intertwined and dependent on each other. We can't have one without the other. We can't work together long enough or well enough if we're constantly turning each other on, or arousing each other during normal interactions. Families fall apart, which means kids are traumatized and emotionally handicapped, and this effects society in a downward spiral.
Keep private stuff private and keep marital relationships private and exclusive. It's the only way we can get along. Everything falls apart when you abandon that.
Hard? Absolutely, few things harder. Worth it, though.

It really does make me wonder why they do it. It's not like it's affecting absolutely anyone. The people who grew up watching these didn't become horrible people or anything, and no kids cried seeing a hint of side boob on an animated woman, so why do they bother censoring? It just seems trivial to me, especially as someone who grew up watching Robocop and Nightmare on Elm Street at the age of 7.

It was edited on June 6th 2000 when it was released on video and dvd they took out The Martin's and the Coy's whe segment
Kids today don’t even watch these films, they could not care less about old animation, only adults watch classic animation, so slap an R rating on it and move on, that’s better than censoring and destroying art
@rose13red 100% correct kids that were born in thw 2000's are totally naive about classic animation films or cartoons nowadays kids are too hooked on computer games and tablets and cell phones they don't even care or know what it feels like to watch a classic animated film they don't most of them don't even know who Bugs Bunny is or Tom & Jerry its just that's what they were born into.Its up to us to keep it going and to teach our children about classic films whether animated or not.
They really should just leave this scene alone, i really wish Disney would remaster it's complete uncut version with this and the Martins and the Coys.

@MsYukizomesorangejuice I know, I was so mad about that. It was literally the only way to watch the complete uncut presentation of the film in high definition. Even though it was just a fan edit, it felt so real and looks as if Disney themselves remastered it and I adored it but now it's gone.

Recorded on an old VHS, tape Disney 1987 on NBC uncut version valentines music animation.
The 2000 UK VHS I have has the altered frames.
Censorship aside the remastered version also made the scene looks a lot less colorful as (look at the background color) but will some argue that its more "accurate" colors, but then again most Remastered movies have tendency to be either overdone or lacked care put into it.
Laserdisc still remains and continues to be the only disc format that truly captures the beauty of hand drawn animation and without ruining it, over sharpen them and all that digital tricks and clean ups make them appear "Perfect." they even removed the imperfection of the drawn artwork frames not completely lined up and moving around a bit as it was put on a machine and captured frame by frame in quick succession using animation camera.
It tells a story that people behind these shorts and animation are humans, and they don't align every frame to capture with perfect accuracy.

And I wonder why I switched to watching mostly subtitled anime when I hit 13. Fanservice is a staple in Japan. Some modern US animated shows still have it.
