    Again thank you for this video. A very portable tent, weight is perfect and a very stable tent. Only the seat height is limited.

      No problem and thank you for the support! Its about 5cm lower than the Hubba Hubba but I think what makes it look so much lower is the sloped sides. It still offers a good amount of head hight in the centre but not as much on either side.

    Got mine for £240! Not a bad price for what looks like a lighter version of the helm 2 tent that has been tested in some rugged conditions. This might just be a bargain 4 season tent!

      @GrizzlyGaz I'm thinking of buying it while it's on offer for the price you bought it at, I had a helm 2 and I see it's just a tad smaller height wise than the helm.

    • @GrizzlyGaz
      @GrizzlyGaz 4 місяці тому +1

      @@martinappleby2895 yeah it's only 95cm which is the cut off point for me personally. 100cm would have been a lot better but most of the Vango tents are 95cm internal height and I'm guessing it's for better wind performance but that's only a guess. I'm glad they're making some lightweight tents and Vango are usually overlooked by the wild camping community. I really like the Starav 200 but at 2.6kg it's pretty heavy for a 2 person tunnel tent. I might try and get a manufacturer to make me a silnylon version of it 🤔

    • @martinappleby2895
      @martinappleby2895 4 місяці тому

      @GrizzlyGaz yes the helm is 100cm so only 5cm height difference and I think the vango is just a little bit wider than the helm, I think the offer on the vango is only for this weekend then goes back to it's original price.

    Really enjoyed the video which was very informative and just the right length. I'm torn between sidedoor acess which is easier for less flexible people and tunnel design that has more gear space in the 'porch' area.

      Thank you! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed it! Choosing between a geodesic tent and a tunnel tent can be a tough decision, as it really depends on your personal preferences and needs. Personally, I love a geodesic tent for its easy setup and strong structure, which requires fewer guylines. However, if you need to organize a lot of gear or require more space for cooking, a tunnel tent might be a better option.

    This looks really good and stronger than the helium that its obviously an evolution of .
    Wider in the base too making for a realistic 2 man tent . My concern is that the headspace ie the amount you have sitting up that you can move left right forward and backwards is so limted (like the helium ) .
    Limits its apeal for me .
    Great video stuart 👍 well done

      We are glad you liked the video and can defiantly understand your concern. The head hight is similar to the MSR Hubba Hubba (100cm tall) I think that the low doors make it look slightly lower than it is in real life.

    Had the first night out in mine the other night, on top of a hill.
    I didn’t think I’d get on with the low ceiling height after putting it up in the garden, but it really wasn’t a problem out in the wild!
    However, Vango have clearly lied about the height of this tent - as I measure it at only 88cm (should be 95cm) in the centre!
    I’d describe it as spacious but cosy…
    It reminds me of the dens I used to make as a kid with it being low in height, and I love it for that..
    It’s such a great colour for wild camping too, now my new favourite shelter out of the 8 I now own! 😎👍🏻

      @@SkorpionFlux I go out to enjoy camping, not endure it, so I'm quite particular about things like internal head height. 95cm would have my head touching the top. For the darker nights of 3 season camping, where you are in the tent for longer, that would be a deal breaker for me. I've owned many Vango tents - and in the F10 range the Helium 2, the Xenon and the Krypton. I'd still probably try this one out though, it does look a solid build.

    Silly question, but being nylon won't it flap more when wet than if it were polyester?

    • @tauntonleisure
      @tauntonleisure  3 місяці тому +1

      No silly questions, In terms of flapping, it's difficult to make a definitive statement about which material flaps more since it can depend on various factors. However, some users report that silnylon tents may flap more in windy conditions due to their lighter weight and possibly because they can stretch more than polyester. However, this might not always be the case, as the design and tautness of the tent also play significant roles. Silnylon is chosen in this case because it has a much better strength-to-weight ratio

    would you recommend this tent over the helm 2 ?

    • @tauntonleisure
      @tauntonleisure  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for your comment. The main difference will be in the fabrics. The Vango uses a higher-quality Silnylon fly sheet. This improves the longevity and durability of the tent and helps reduce the weight. The Vango is 450G lighter than the Helm 2 and has a much smaller pack size.

    • @tauntonleisure
      @tauntonleisure  4 місяці тому

      Your right the height of these tents can be a bit challenging for taller folks or those who prefer more headroom. The 95 cm height is designed to help reduce weight, pack size, and make it better suited for challenging conditions.
