- Did you know that beach living is one of the most luxurious, costly and popular lifestyles in the country, with, for instance, an average California home with ocean views costing about $1.66 million? In fact, compared to houses nearby with a non-ocean view, just having an ocean view meant that the property was, on average, about $214,000 more expensive. On top of that, if you take a look at pretty much any country, you’ll notice that a large portion of the population are situated along the coasts living this beach lifestyle. Much of the reason for this high cost we mentioned has to do with the fact that many coastal towns are famous, culturally significant, and, in turn, highly desirable. However, there are still some beautiful undiscovered beach towns in the US that are far more affordable - and less crowded - than those well-known spots. These hidden gems offer a serene lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of typical beach life.
So today on Across the Globe we’re going to be looking at America's Undiscovered And Surprisingly Empty Coastal Towns.

I live in Gulf Shores, Sweet Home Alabama!! Our beaches are breathtaking! Gulf Shores is a beautiful, friendly southern town to visit! On the other hand, for residents the pay rate must increase to compensate for the extremely hard work we put in during “season”! There are very few places to rent & they are all ridiculously sky high w an average rent of $1200 for a small 2 bedroom apt! For those of us working full time we make too much money to qualify for any “assistance” but realistically can’t afford a place without it so it’s quite frustrating!
Thats why i i like driving hwy 101 from Washington to Cali taking the scenic route

I wasn't thinking that Michigan was a beach front state. I'm thinking Great Lakes?
I do not even drive through Alabama, ditto Texas. Shoe-slaw River? It is pronounced Sy-a-slaw. Florence is okay but damn you are a long LONG way from the nearest Costco, movies, retail of any kind. Michigan is not a coastal state, lakes there might be big but the freshwater environment is totally different from seaside. Captiva Island was absolutely wiped off the map in hurricane Ian. There are several towns in far northern California and southern Oregon that would have been better for your list.
Florence is not that far from major shopping lol. 30 min drive at most.
How in the world can Brewster Mass (center of Cape Cod) be considered either hidden or empty?

View, schmew - does anyone sit by the window and look out at the view all day?
I’m not so sure you’re understanding probability. Or maybe you misrepresented. For example you say the odds of being involved in a violent crime in Long Beach, Washington is less than Washinton overall and then you give the statistic of 1 in 159 for along Beach and 1 in 266 in Washington overall: that means the odds in Long Beach are higher 🤷🏻♂️.
Some of these videos make it sound like everyone can afford a million dollar house.
"affordable" ???? ROFLMAO!!!!
Yea, expensive as f-k
A lot of these beaches have pretty cold water. Apart from Florida and Alabama, it's going to be too cold to swim most of the year. And frankly, the entire United States is now unaffordable for most people, when you factor in the cost of healthcare. Don't get sick in America. You'll go bankrupt.
The only problem with beach towns in Alabama is Alabama. 😂
damn i like these vids about us towns
keep these up!
Not Americas, you mean USA's...
