Hello everyone
This video is an a abstract that almost 8 hours of work creating a 3D alien skull beginning base in sculptris, modeling detail and making textures in zbrush and doing basic test of animation and render in Maya, I want to use in a few seconds in a short film than I'm working, although is not the normal method that I use to model something, but it´s a easy, fun and efficient way to create something fast in 3D and unify all these powerful tools.
I hope you enjoy it

Looks better than the reference pics! Really great! Congrats! Nice job!
ur awesome... By ur 15min I learned more than from tutorials :D
great and stuff!!!!!!!! it looks amazing!!!
simplemente increible!
well you're not going to find a realtime video of something done in only 15 that looks this good. Things like this take time to make
Beast man
awesome work. something i never do is use reference when i am sculpting, but i know its really helpful to get things looking perfect. also your texturing reminded me i havent been using zbrush as efficiently as i could be. did you decimate your model before bringing it to maya? or just use displacement maps?
Is there a 3D printer that prints the uv map as well? Then you can put it into a musea and say this creature really exists x) Really nice work.
Oh yeah I'm answering people's questions lol I like your video dude , did you used v-ray at the end..? For the last picture
thanks!! there a lot of ways to create uv map in maya, are good but maybe you spend a lot of time specially if you are a begginer, you can try to make your uvs in zbrush with plug in called uv master, you have less contror but its easier and you can export your color map to maya without problems
good
This is great you rigged and animated it as well! Did you UV your diffuse and specular map in maya so that it could be painted in P.S. too? Or did you use your color from zbrush? If so how did you import your color? Im still a beginner, i've been having problems with seam lines from the uving in maya. I usually use create uvs based on camera. Is there a faster way to do this and to create a smooth color with no seam lines?
gracias!!! saludos!
i'm not trying to look big, you're big!
Not quite sure if there is anything it does that zbrush doesn't, however, sculpturis is free on the other hand. With that said, it really doesn't seem to matter here though... considering they clearly have zbrush as well. I would have to agree with the other comment, I guess the interface is simpler and easier for basic sculpting up front.
@adrenaline681 sculptris has dynamesh, its a smart mesh that put detail only in the part that need it without worried about levels of geometry like a static mesh.. so yo can model fast and more realistic like a real clay but i supose tha zbrush 4 R2 has a new dynamesh too
Dynamesh is kind of opposite of sculptris in my opinion, dynamesh evens out the topology and sculptris adds subdivisions to only the area you want to work on.
I think the speading up is closer to 12x than 4x actually.
@killploki thank you!! mm yes i decimate the model and i made a normal map but the best way to use a model from zbrush to maya its retopogize first
i would be so grateful if you share your maya render settings
@RubenDandrea87 Sculptor is just for basic basic sculpting think something like primitives in maya or 3ds
NICE STYLE!!! where do you get so much zbrushes, and you tell me where to get zbrushes for zsketching i only have 7...soy nuevo en ZBRUSH te agradeceria mucho tu ayuda...thx! bro
Pixologic now own the rights to Sculptris (but didnt originally) and will purposely handicap it so it never competes with Zbrush in the same way Gimp provides an alternative to Photoshop.
with a new version of Zbrush that has Dynamesh. mmm i dont know, maybe it has a easier and simple interface
@efflamful It says 8 hours on the description
where do you find pictures which show more one angle of he same photo
I was thinking the same thing.
Alien.
whats the name of the first track? The complete name please.
Why do you use Scultris to model the base and not zbrush?
sculptris is free ,and it from pixologic.... what were you expecting?
it was obviously implied
Donde estudiaste?
8 gigs of ram and a 3.6 quad core processor, can I dare set the detail level about 75% without my pc exploding?
O.o are you serius
de 19:00 a 5:00 hrs tss....
Where's his tongue monster? LOL
Who the hell does UVs in sculptris anyway? just use your standard 3d app for that
I guess I don't understand that comment. shrugs*
not in 15 min in realtime, that's speed up'd x2 or even x4, and the softwares transitions are cut'd out!
please dont fake advertise your videos.
ortherwise it's cool, but i really hate fakes!
RAMMSTEIN LOL
I don't think you understand the meaning of advertising. To be a "fake advertisement" It must be saying that "I did this in 15 minutes" and then done in a different amount of time. No where does it say I did this in 15, but instead it shows the step by step in 15, it says "From model to render in" not "I made this in". This artist indeed did state it took 8 hours to do said work, thus is there in no way implying that they did it in 15 minutes.
Stop trying to look big, and twist words.

sculptris is pointless - u can't export uv textures from sculptris so ur forced to buy Zbrush which is better than sculptris
go upload a video saying you make a digital painting of some shit in 4 minutes when i'ts actually 4 hours, then we will talk about fake advertising..
captain obvious...still fake advertizing, here are some shitty examples:
"create a python program from scratch in 2 minutes!"
"mona lisa, from sketch to acrylic in 60 seconds"
"learn HTML5 and PHP in 1 hour!"
"Skinning, rigging & constraint in less than 10 minutes!!
Pisses me off...--'
