IKEA "MALM" Dresser Assembly

- This video will guide you through the process of assembling an IKEA "MALM" dresser.
The assembly is simple but rather lengthy and can be done by a single person without assistance. You only need a Hammer, and both a Flat Head and Phillips Head Screwdrivers.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- I did not install the safety fasteners for securing the dresser to a wall which is recommend in the manual as I do not have young children and may wish to move the dresser to a different location at some point in the future.
- If you expect that young children could use your dresser then you should strongly consider securing your dresser as recommended and as shown in the assembly manual.

Seriously thank you so much. I was stuck on this project for so long. Had it a quarter built sitting in my room for weeks after getting frustrated on the first few steps. All of the other assembly videos are either made for the older model, speed builds, or go in another order than the directions. Your video was the first one to actually help me. It's currently 12:14 am and I'm putting together this dresser on my own in the middle of the night. I got stuck on a couple of parts but thanks to your video, it was super easy to do. So helpful!

My drawers didn't come with instructions being as they were a replacement shipment. I watched a video and set them up all wrong...I gave up for a minute and then stumbled upon this video... I now have my drawers! Thank you!

To be honest I’ll never purchase from ikea again just because of the assembly (I live too far for someone to come out and do it) but bless you for making this video genuine life saver!

This dresser killed my self esteem.. it bullied me telepathically, sayinghow stupidity am🤣🤣🤣. I never felt so stupid in my life as with this dresser, I was having hot flashes numerous time in that few minutes trying to put it together, and the manual that comes with it probably better of keeping it out of the box because It was useless. 😒 but this video saved me from pulling all my hair out. I don't know I guess it's because I'm a trained Mechanical Engineer and these sort of things come naturally easy for me, although not always at first as you can see in my videos I'm sometimes learning as I go, but then try to explain what I've learned for the benefit of my viewers. This! I'm usually pretty good at assembling IKEA furniture. I got to that center bar on the drawers and was totally stumped looking at those instructions.

For the back of the drawer instead of using a punch you can also use a 2.5 wood pilot, perfect size for screw, matched it up with the pre drilled hole so it’ll fasten correctly.

Literally only needed to know what to do with the support beam for the dresser so you are a lifesaver without that pre drilled hole i was so confused
