I love this ship! There's so much functional 'play' built-in for role play scenarios.

When you swung around and focused on the airlock and said "the only defensive weaponry..." I thought this was gonna get a little dark narrative going on... 🤣

Is there a ramp for the cargo bay to the ground or is access only via the lift to the shuttle bay? Or would the lift go down to the ground?

The shuttle bay is used, or the main airlock. A good point though, something to think about

How do you suggest we make the windows?

Just cut out hard plastic from packaging. Otherwise, we just did ours in clear PLA, it is only translucent, not truly glass-like. To get perfect you would need to do in a solid resin

@@2ndDynasty3D Could you be persuaded to unroll the surface and provide that as a pattern for cutting?

I would suggest that you print the glass in resin but reduced by 2%. Then use clear worbla, an easily obtained low temp thermoplastic, and heat it then press it around the printed piece. clear as glass and easily shaped.

I intend to use the printable piece to make a negative mold ( a tiny bit of modelling removing material using the actual model to create the negative) and essentially gravirt/heat/vacuum form against. I don't have a real setup, but I fake it with a heat gun, scrap clear plastics from recyclables and and a shop vac and a little jury rigged vacuum form jig (which is hot or miss too often.) For small curves gravity and heat can work pretty good too. I would practice this. It's not a flawless system... Uh pro tip... Remember to vent and wear a proper mask when self melting your plastic 🤪... Just thought about that time I didn't... Ymvm depending on how crafty you are and this will be the largest window I try like this yet x3 if I was to guess... At my current rate of printing I'll be ready in 2+ years. I'm still working on some of the first ships 🤣
