Fantastic! Your photo's really do the track justice! The score by Miles Davis has been described by jazz critic Phil Johnson as "the loneliest trumpet sound you will ever hear, and the model for sad-core music ever since. Hear it and weep"
Jeanne Moreau walking lost down those Paris streets, Miles Davis tragically cool sad trumpet, Louis Malle at the beginning of his career. Chef's Kiss combo!
Thanks you. The photos are mine and the soundtrack by Miles is fantastic. Apparently, the movie was finished first and Miles and his band watched it and composed the music on the spot, all in about 4 hours. I think "Generique" is one of the perfect pieces of music I've heard. I put another track from the film to my photos on my site.
Absolutely beautiful piece of Jazz and the trumpet playing by Mr Davis is unmatched which reinforces the beautiful notion is that they truly do not make music like this in the modern world today
When a young person tries to convince me that rock is the greatest music ever, I can only think to myself, "You poor fool. You've never heard Miles Davis."
They haven’t. I was in a record store maybe 35 years ago. Miles was still alive. I asked where his records were. The employee didn’t know who I was talking about. We swim in the Ganges.
Iowa?? i lived in Iowa for a few months and never found it this beautiful lookin'. but i guess thats what jazz and black and white photos will do.. make all things a beaut.
This is the definition of jazz noir music! Perfection!
so true, the first lick is love
The coolest jazz record ever made.
One of the best miles tracks!

Music from Ascenseur pour l'echafaud is Davis' best work.

Great work you do, the Music and the Picture are one unit. It tell a Story without words, it´s a impressive way.
un vrais plaisir
Miles Davis sempre me impressionou muito.
Used by the RTBf cinema program "5heures" as well ;)
