The Noosa Bar and Bay. Friday morning, June 28, 2024.

Wow! An absolutely stunning morning here in Noosa with clear blue skies over a very low lying cloud bank. A light 3 to 4 knot south westerly breeze blowing at the river mouth and a small punchy swell on the bar. Quite glassy in the bay. BOM forecast is for south to south westerly winds about 10 knots tending south to south easterly 10 to 15 knots in the morning then tending east to south easterly in the late afternoon. Seas: Around 1 metre. Swell: Easterly around 1 metre. Filmed between 6.30am and 7.00am which was about half an hour before a 0.57m low tide. Background Music: 'Lazy Boy Blues'... by Unicorn Heads.

thanks for the vid - I have a 5.4m runabout and have not been game to try any bars. These videos are like training material. Me thinks old mate at 3:50 might have been trimmed a bit too high so was losing power and control when needed. Something I would do till I got the hang of it for sure.

I learned young to cross the tweed bar get someone experienced to show you Otherwise go on a flat day on a run in tide nearly full time the wave sets

Isn’t that the old moondancer ? Used to fly the Australian flag 🇦🇺.
He hit bottom pretty hard , hope there’s no damage . The bars getting a bit sketchy again , no channel at all.
