I really like this new id.7. It solved most of the problems of previous generations VW’s electric. This really looks like a premium car, has a large battery. I can’t wait for the Tourer model, especially with all wheel drive !
To get people out of their Passat, though...it's €22,000 more expensive I believe, and that's for a version that is slaughtered on long distance by the Koreans and Tesla. The basic Model S (I sound like a fanboy here) is just as roomy as the ID.7 Tourer in terms of liters and of course waaaayy faster on long trips and, well, idiotic drag races. 200+ liters smaller than a new Passat as well, that's a bit unfortunate. High floor I guess, and due to lazy German engineering, zero frunk where a Lucid air that's the same size has 280 liters of frunk and 40 kWh more battery. Not in the same price range, but Lucid just ACTUALLY tried making a good EV. VW on the other hand is great with steer help. Car Maniac said he didn't miss it though, the Lucid Air is just really nice to drive. I hope the bottom of the barrel version will soon arrive and somewhat compete on price with EQE, I4/I5, ID.7 and Model S. 14:52 Owning an Enyaq Coupe vRS, I have not missed the frunk so far. My wallbox at home has its own attached cable, if I use a HPC the cable is attached as well, so the only scenario where I need the cable from within the car is for public AC charging. Skoda has solved this quite nicely, with the AC cable being in a dedicated bag fitting perfectly into the left trunk "pocket", which in most scenarios is still accessible even if you have your trunk loaded with some stuff.
Thomas , I’m Italian and I find autogefuhl the most accurate and interesting car testing channel. I love how you describe cars in details and your jokes every now and then. Keep it like that 🙏🏻. In Italy we have the same speed system on autobahn ( slower when it rains) up nobody follows it as speed traps are set only for the higher limits… lol
Frunk is nice for charging cables and would be great if other items were there like the air compressor, warning triangle and so on. I only use the charging cable on road trips where the trunk might be full of bags and it's nice to have a separate compartment for it, cable might be dirty or wet as well. Under the floor of the boot is not practical to store cables
exactly, the floor of the trunk is not accessible when you have the trunk full of items. Frunk is the only reasonable option for cables, otherwise you have to put them somewhere else but not into the floor of the trunk
I am not really getting the comparison to Tesla 3. Tesla here in the Nordics starts from 42 900 eur, while ID7 starts from 58 800 eur. They are on price so far away from each other and almost in different segments. People are shopping between ID3, ID4, Tesla 3 and soon EX30 that broke some preorder records here for EVs - not ID7.
I still don't understand why no car brand has yet thought of putting a spare tire in the front trunk. Since a large percentage of electric cars don't come with a spare tire, but with a kit 😞 I think most people put the charging cables in the rear trunk. I wonder if no one has ever thought of that
It's called Lada Niva, and this position of a spare wheel in front trunk caused some unpleasant effects in case of collision... But maybe its that particular solution that was suboptimal.
Interesting car. About to start a 3 year lease with a Model 3 Highland, which gives VW 3 years to fix all the ID.7’s issues and release the wagon version. 😊
@@hardywoodaway9912 the blinkers being touch buttons on the steering wheel is ergonomic? Having to swipe on the touch screen to go into gear is ergonomic?
Its till riddled with cheat bit that constantly remind you its cheap. Like front/rear window switches. In you fact cost saving measure. So you're remind of it every time you drive your car.
@@ClinketyI am guessing you are not from Europe. We have many tight spaces where you need to change from R to D multiple times. For example we parallel park in small spaces where we need to hurry and be able to change from R to D to R again because traffic is waiting. There are many scenarios (not only in roundabouts), where turn signal buttons aren’t good enough. It’s one thing to use turn signal indicators in a big grid american city, it’s another thing to be in a twisty hilly city, with many tight consecutive turns. I agree it can be acceptable in some cities, but they are terrible in others. Stalks were good in both cases.
The “Fronk” isn’t necessary, and it looks as if VW made that area small so the interior is large which is much preferred. It’s a very short bonnet and there’d be no way to make a “Fronk” very usable. Seems well engineered.
It seems that Honda and Mazda are the only car markers who still know how to make a proper interior with luxuries like buttons and knobs. So many in the industry didn’t bother to think that maybe there’s a difference between tapping a mobile phone screen while sitting versus tapping an infotainment display as your car hurtles down the highway at 70+ MPH. Like, one device is gently nestled in your palm while your thumb calmly navigates the UI while the other is at the end of your arm’s reach as your finger jostles around. Nobody in their right mind would ever use a smartphone if they had to use it like we use these “smart” car displays.
Hyundai/Kia are also good in that regard. They seem to be the only manufacturer not trying to pretend that severe cost-cutting is "minimalism" or "premium"
I like having a front boot. It doesn't have to be big but I like keeping the cables there. Froot is also a good place to store things you don't want warming up (during winter).
Great review. I’ll go for the tourer. We have a golf 7.5 variant now and love it. We have two kids and take our caravan (1000kg empty weight) on vacation. The variant is perfect for all that stuff. And yeah… we all heard you say you like a four way 😂
The lack of a frunk is more about the engineering effort and care that’s gone into the design. With the inherent advantages an EV provides for packaging possibilities, it’s a bit lazy to not properly leverage that to provide a frunk.
This is by far the best EV from VW right now, I have a much higher budget but would even consider it as my next car - overall its good in every category - but does not stand out in none, which is typical VW. It's finally premium inside as well, the software works great - no flaws I can see.
Want to have a Tesla 3 but VW for the price of the Tesla S Plaid and the quality of a Dacia Spring, then this is the car for you. The car in the video is around 75.000, you can get almost 2x tesla3 highlands for that price. You can take of course leasing rates with a 10% rate and with 10k km limit. I hope VW will be squeezed enough so that they go back building quality cars again.
Looking at this as a company lease car but unfortunately here in The Netherlands the ID7 is 20-30% more expensive to lease than the new Tesla Model 3 AWD Highland. And that's without factoring in that for the ID7 to be on the same level options wise (heated seats, heat pump and so on) you need to add around 3500 euros to the price which of course has an effect on the lease rate. List price in a similar configuration (color, options, etc.) is a difference of over 15k. Monthly rate I'm quoted is around €1100 for the Tesla vs around €1400 for the ID7..
I dont understand why manufacturers have charging connectors in the same location as fossil fuel cars. Ev cars really need charger connections at the front
I just installed ID.4 ErgoActive seats in my ID.3, it’s a huge upgrade over the standard manual seats I had. However, these ID.7 seats are giving me wet dreams, they look extremely nice and comfortable. Oh well, can’t have it all. 😅
Quick question on that upgrade, do you need to put extra wiring or were the necessary cables already there? I would consider the same upgrade on my ID.3 :-)
@@JurgenLahey yes had to add new cables, and also switch the airbags from my old seats (didn’t do any of this myself). The old manual seats only had one plug (for heat and airbag), while the new seats has 2 plugs. The new ones also has electrical adjustment, massage, memory and thigh support, and they offer so much more support than the old one. 😊 But it has been a long project, it’s not easy to find ErgoActive seats for sale, since not too many ID cars has been scraped yet. I think mine come from a ID.4 test vehicle. My backseats are also getting new fabric to match the new front seats, will get it installed tomorrow. As far as I know, the ID.4 backseats don’t fit in ID.3, so that became my solution. It looked really weird with the new front seats and the old ID.3 design in the backseats.
Hey Thomas, regarding French speed limitations when raining, the French law is rather imprecise. It does not draw a line like in Germany with the road surface, so even a very light rain like the one in your video can be regarded as "rain" and thus reduce speed limits to 110 km/h. Now like most rules in France, most policemen won't care at all and you will see several persons driving 130 km/h in such conditions, but there is always a risk you meet a policeman being strict on the law and receive a speed ticket.
The frunk for me isn't essential as a storage option per se, all I need is a place to store the charging cables, med kit and tire repair gubbins. Stuff you rarely need (if home charging is available) but it just takes up space in the boot. So all in all, yes, but a tiny one is fine. Casestudies would be the Volvo EX30 or ioniq 5. They are even a bit large. Always appreciated anyhow.
When we were choosing an EV we put a high importance on a model that was designed from the ground up as an EV, rather than a converted ICE model. Part of that was the increased likelihood of a frunk, as extra storage space is always good. We've got two dogs so a frunk means we can have meaningful capacity that's accessible even with the dogs in the back. Went with a Tesla Model Y, albeit that was also due to the supercharger network (and your video reviews Thomas!) Do like the ID7 though, especially that electrochromatic roof.
@@krane15 .. A BIG sales limiting factor no frunk.. What's a frontal collison damage look like? .. And who's going to execute any such repairs? .. MB dealership tech? .. You're dreaming..
Not sure if all new VW has this issue but when you cold start the car in winter temperature 0-4c the touch screen doesn’t register when you press anything. Takes few minutes until it warms up before you can pick anything. Assuming you have heating on.
Frunk is useful when you want to for example bring gasoline cans for your boat and don't want it to smell in the cabin. Especially on cars without a separated boot like a sedan.
Happy to forego the frunk if they utilise the front space for 'car' - ie long wheelbase, short bonnet resulting in a bigger cabin. Seems like they've done that well on this car.
@5:45 Thoma, who prefers two window switches vs four? You just added two steps when before there was one. That doesn't make driving more complicated, not easier.
As someone that has been driving a polestar 2 for a couple months, a frunk is very nice and usefull, i would pay a little extra to have one, however it's not a dealbreaker. The thing with the frunk is I usually have a lot of stuff just laying in my trunk(under trunk) Stuff like screwdrivers, charging cable(you never use it if you charge home), car cleaning products, cloth,... If you have a frunk to put those in you always have a nice and empty trunk which i really love.
I had the opportunity to sit and see the Volkswagen ID 7 Pro at the car show in Munich, and my review is as follows: a lot of hard plastic, the cockpit is soft only in the upper part, while everything else is hard plastic. There's a lot of hard plastic on the doors. It's a shame that it has a rod on the engine hood instead of cylinders, and it's a shame that it lacks rear disc brakes, using drums instead. VW made a lot of cost-cutting for this car, and the showroom price was 75,000 euros. It's not worth that money. It's a pity that those who give reviews are paid to speak only the best about cars, and no one gives an honest review of the car. It's better to get a new Skoda Superb diesel or petrol, which is better made, has comfort, better build quality, has disc brakes, cylinders on the hood, and can cover over 900 km. Plus, it's at least 20,000 euros cheaper with a good equipment package.

Another point in the comparison with Tesla Model 3, based on my experience with MEB cars I never achieved the claimed charging speeds and they are lower than in Tesla.
Great review as ever. What strikes me is how slow VW is able to react to things it knows it has to change. We knew about VW (and Audi etc) software problems about five years ago. In this car as reviewed it still has not quite caught up with Tesla and others. VW have said for over a year that they want real buttons back, yet still can not deliver them for another year or so. Over those sorts of time lags loyal customers, of whom I was once one, are lost. Contrast this with almost any marque based East of - say - Athens or West of - say - Coventry. Many premium manufacturers look down on American marques for design and fleetness of market reaction. I would say both Ford and Stellantis are looking pretty nimble at the moment by comparison with VW.. That said this looks like a perfectly nice car if you like that sort of thing.
Considering the massive problems Ford is dealing with EV sales and bleeding money, and using VW Group's MEB platform I am not sure if they can be used as good examples of anything. Isn't Stellantis majority European owned considering Fiat Chrysler by far largest owner was Exor (Agnelli family) and I would imagine PSA was even more in European hands? But yeah VW really made huge plunder with software and Herbert Diess was at least part of the problem. For VW's sake ID2 should be here this year, but it will still take at least till 2025. outside of Tesla Volvo EX30 would be pefect example of car that will stirr the European market I would say in the coming 7 months. Coming from a company majority owned by Geely. VW Group, Mercedes and BMW will have their hands full for the next 2 years. Especially VW Group will want to build everything from software to the batteries totally by themself and they are already late. Scale is their thing and I of course understand the need on building all by themself. Especially for batteries and platforms. ID3 to ID5 are just not cutting it anymore.
VW people don't care. They starts at 8:00am. 1 hour breakfast coffee time. 3 hours works. 1 hour lunch. get off work at 3:00PM. It's going to take another 10 years to see the change.
they won't catch tesla for a one reason. Tesla is building software, then cars. Every other manufacturer is still doing it in the old-school way. Software must serve the car. This generates a lot of problems for them. They want to kill two birds with one stone without hitting any in the result.
Ford have way fewer resources than VW, so have fewer options. What I think is impressive about Ford is how decisive they have been: adopting the MEB platform; paring back the model range; producing good EVs with a nod to the Tesla iPad stuck onto the dashboard; and battery investment. They also provide VW with their off road pick up trucks. You are right about Stellantis. I still think of Chrysler…. @@tissot233
Thomas shoe game is always on point.👌I would take this over the tesla bt in estate form and with a brighter interior but also lets hope the buttons will be brought back in the facelift!
Absolutely insane that VW know everyone hates their terrible non haptic capacitive button wheel, but they refuse to change it even in the car that isn't out yet, choosing to wait until the next production model after this.
In this case, I would actually prefer the Sedan, just because the difference in boot capacity isn't too big, and it looks way better in my opinion and normally is a bit cheaper as well
There is no difference in looks, it's just a difference in how the boot is cut out. A hatchback/fastback cuts the boot into the rear glass, a sedan doesn't. Price difference is minimal.
Always have charging cable, emergency kit and triangle + vest in frunk. It's particularly practical for road trips with a full trunk. Where those items are then easily accessible from the frunk
Thomas, you always give great reviews. I like this car. It has a luxury look and feel, especially in the interior. I like the hatchback, which the Tesla Model 3 does not have, but the Model Y does. The main screen seems to be responsive and easy to navigate. I also like the driver display and that it has a HUD too. I think VW has a winner with the ID7. 👏
Does anyone know how the new EU speed warning will work? Will it reset each time I lock the car so I have to turn it off manually every time I go more then 1kph over the speed limit. To me it seems like a ridiculous law, specially if manufacturers burry the turn of button deep in the infotainment system. I suppose this might not be the biggest issue on the autobahn or in south and east Europe where the speed limit are generally higher than in the nordics. But in Sweden and Norway were the highway speed limit is 110 kph speeding is kind of the norm on the highways, so this is a big deal. I would love to see more on this subject in future videos
Definitely more space than in Model 3 but price wise…sedan which starts from 65k (in Italy)… way more expensive than Tesla Model 3… crazy prices for EV…
@@autogefuehl everything cheaper in Germany😁… but Germany is not the whole World😀…in Italy VW doesn’t offer any discount e.g. Enyaq 80 u can buy for 52k same ID4 62-65k…leasing… i personally prefer to own smth instead of renting and paying “for the air”…anyway Tesla offers same leasing being 10k less expensive… faster… but smaller☺️ and why is leasing so popular? Because initial price is not affordable and aftermarket price is not predictable…anyway with leasing you will overpay in comparison to ICE vehicle (imho).
Would be a instant buy in the estate version to be my next car after my current Mercedes c200. But as it cant pull a caravan it is a no go for me :( I don't understand why VW cars cant pull anything when compared to Volvo, Mercedes and other electric cars..... I guess I will have to wait out the Polestar 4 or something else when I want to go electric.
3:26 This is actully great that this is removable! I hate having to take that thing out when fast-charging, even if it's just a few seconds if I feel I don't need it I can just remove it if I want.
Vw did it again, another soulless vehicle, would see me driving this thing if i was given one for free, new but already looks outdated, the review was awesome by the way
I guess that besides the big sedans like S-Class/7-Series/A8, this is the 'regular car' that best accomodated you at the back seat in many many times, or am I exaggerating? Also, VW did well with the front packaging, not shrinking it so much and getting it dispoportional like the Mercedes' EQE/EQS, but still opening more space at the interior
I really like the styling and estate looks great too but VW really need to put an Arteon grade interior into models like this, so a nice big digital gauge cluster straight in front of you for google maps etc and a multimedia screen actually integrated into the dash instead of the stuck on ipad, that's what people at this price point want instead of fancy looking but useless external light bars!
Regarding RAIN on the French autoroute, the way I work it out is that if my wipers are on then my limit is 110 kph. If the wipers are only on intermittent or off then my limit is 130 kph. Not had a single speeding ticket since 1995 (Spain).
I am ambivalent about a frunk. If that horizontal space is needed for rear leg room, I'd prefer it be used for that rather than storage up front. But if the cabin is already spacious, and the car has a long hood for styling reasons, then yes it should have a funk to add some functionality to an otherwise 'useless' space.
Frunk, especially a powered frunk, is great for small, but infrequently used things like charging cables...but also great for pungent takeout food! I also think indirectly, a frunk shows that the EV was built from the ground-up with more intentional user benefits, as opposed to a quicker/cheaper transposition from an ICE platform. It gives me more confidence that the automaker is committed to their EV designs.
Having a frunk isn’t critical for me. Especially If the maker frees up cabin space by making a smaller front area and putting HVAC systems in the front.
Great in-depth review of the ID7. Maybe you should do the same review especially when you accelerate from a standstill turning on to the fast road in a Mach-E GT. If you go flat out you’d be sideways now that is fun!
If vw ould have put this same screen integrated it in the dash like in old golfs the interior would have been much better. Step up for them indeed but still way to go. But glad to see another kombi. It is mind blowing to me that there are so few of them and mostly suvs. As a team kombi person there will finally be another one out there.
Regarding the frunk debate, I like it to keep my EVSE, safety equipment and jumper box/compressor out of the way. And if the car is designed with RWD proportions (Mach-E) or based on a RWD ICE platform, I like it when manufacturers make use of the space leftover after the engine is removed. It’s so annoying to see how much space is wasted under the hood of the i4. Looking at this car I could tell right away it probably wouldn’t have a frunk because of how short the hood is and I’m ok with that. But if you’re gonna chase RWD proportions or build off of a RWD platform, it just looks cheap and lazy to not include a frunk.
I would prefer as much under the hood as possible, rather than behind the dash where it is impossibly expensive to fix. Not sure how much Tesla has behind dash, but that is my fear…
Great review, as always, Thomas! Not directly comparable, I know, but how would you rate the suspension/driving experience and the infotainment/screen setup of the ID7 compared to the Kia EV9?
Great review Thomas, as usual Thomas. Regarding RWD it is less safe than AWD and then if you encounter some snow….I use the trunk of my car especially when I have some liquids that could eventually spill. I would never buy a VW if it more expensive than a Tesla.
Because VW can't build a car as good as Tesla? I assure you the build quality and gap tolerances on a VW are far superior then any Teals on the road. You really should do more research. The Germans carmakers are well-known for their build quality. In the mean time, I will impart you with that knowledge at no charge.
The ID.7 but how does it perform? I’m very happy with my rear wheel Tesla model 3, it’s a very efficient car and they are cheaper now than when I bought mine in 2022! Driving long distances is seamless in terms of charging, I never have to worry about running out of a charge!
A frunk is essential on trips, so charging cables and car care products, and so on, don't mess with the luggage. Not the ultimate deal breaker, but pretty nice. So is 100% one pedal driving. I really don't understand, why most legacy automakers are not at least giving people a choice. It's so old fashioned thinking and very stupid.
@@krane15 Exactly! Compared to other EVs, the car is priced right. However, all EVs are too expensive right now. Before, car manufacturers blamed the price of batteries for being high. But now batteries are much cheaper than they were 3 years ago and the prices keep falling every year. So, the battery reason is not a valid argument anymore.
Don’t think this is comparable to Tesla Model 3. Especially RWD standard range which is an absolute bargain compared to any similar German made EV. German manufacturers need to reduce their EV prices or get left behind.
The question of 'frunk or no frunk'... to me it depends if not having frunk = more rear trunk? Consolidate the stuff to the front and free up the rear? That's fine too.

Best review I've seen so far. Congratulations.
Thank you so much! Please recommend / share our channel and our videos 🙏
As a ID4 GTX owner I think that the frunk is a nice story, but nothing more...
Frunk is a non issue. Not required for me
considering you were driving the ID.7 in the rain, with bigger tires and at higher speeds, the range is still impressive.
Fine with it yeah. Could be better but also harsh conditions. Still well done
@@autogefuehlwith the bigger battery it should be more than enough for most people.
Best reviewer online.
Thanks so much my friend!

Also, these are real cars instead of just being acceleration toys that only just hold together.
You guys make awesome reviews! Keep up the good work 🤘🏻
I still don't understand why no car brand has yet thought of putting a spare tire in the front trunk.
Since a large percentage of electric cars don't come with a spare tire, but with a kit 😞
I think most people put the charging cables in the rear trunk.
I wonder if no one has ever thought of that
It's called Lada Niva, and this position of a spare wheel in front trunk caused some unpleasant effects in case of collision... But maybe its that particular solution that was suboptimal.
Are you going to engineer that it A:fits and B: passes crash tests.
@@Astke And why not, I don't see what the difficulty would be
Interesting car. About to start a 3 year lease with a Model 3 Highland, which gives VW 3 years to fix all the ID.7’s issues and release the wagon version. 😊
I have tesla model 3 and I have opened the frunk once this year. I have never used AC charging outside home, only DC fast charging on travels.
good for you
The interior seems definitely more ergonomic and useful than that of Model 3.
cannot say anything what’s not ergonomic about a model 3 tbh. Very easy car to live with, easier than the VW products I head
@@hardywoodaway9912 the blinkers being touch buttons on the steering wheel is ergonomic? Having to swipe on the touch screen to go into gear is ergonomic?
@@myemailiscool There is an 'Auto Shift out of Park' feature that fixes that.
Yes, it's a design decision to maximize cabin space.
Thomas, thanks for another great review 👌
🙏🙏
LMAO, luxurious Honda😂
Hyundai/Kia are also good in that regard. They seem to be the only manufacturer not trying to pretend that severe cost-cutting is "minimalism" or "premium"
lol, yeah wonder how long Hobda and mazda are still in business
Agree to that. But Genesis interiors are no 1 imo
Awful interiors in Honda and Mazda. Despite the nicely designed climate unit, the interior looks 10 years too late
Man that ID.7 Tourer looks so nice. Finally an EV with a decent boot!
I like having a front boot. It doesn't have to be big but I like keeping the cables there. Froot is also a good place to store things you don't want warming up (during winter).
The back seat and trunk space are impressive.❤
Excellent review, as always! Also, Thomas, happy to help you with the 4-way 😉
Great reviuw as always!
This EV ticks all the boxes for me, and is way ahead of Tesla M3.
Good work VW.
Yes, this is a real car.
Fantastic review best I have seen for this car

Always detailed and pretty informing reviews. Thank you.
Finally a Tourer / Estate from a respectable manufacturer!
Just wait for 3 months and you will see the prices on the same level for lease - it's just the initial wave being a new car.
Jep but the ID7 is much bigger and has more premium options, so of course its more expenssive.
@@BobBaumeister-g8v Yeah of course but in my opinion it doesn't make sense to compare the two or to claim that the lease price will be the same.
I dont understand why manufacturers have charging connectors in the same location as fossil fuel cars. Ev cars really need charger connections at the front
Another great review. Really enjoy your format, and great delivery of information. And good eyecandy as always ;)
The ID7 is probably the electric sedan to beat for the other car manufacturers.
I am a Japanese. But we always enjoy your youtubes .By the way your assistant is very charming.
This is one of the best channels - very detailed and intelligent, danke shoen!
Hey Thomas, regarding French speed limitations when raining, the French law is rather imprecise. It does not draw a line like in Germany with the road surface, so even a very light rain like the one in your video can be regarded as "rain" and thus reduce speed limits to 110 km/h. Now like most rules in France, most policemen won't care at all and you will see several persons driving 130 km/h in such conditions, but there is always a risk you meet a policeman being strict on the law and receive a speed ticket.
in France if your wipers are running then you must apply reduced speed limits, pretty simple
thanks for the feedback!
Speed limits don't account for foul weather. In the U.S. it says "safe and prudent."
Went with a Tesla Model Y, albeit that was also due to the supercharger network (and your video reviews Thomas!)
Do like the ID7 though, especially that electrochromatic roof.
Yet half of all carmakers still don't subscribe to that philosophy. Mercedes, for example. In fact, they won't even allow you to open the hood.
The thing with the frunk is I usually have a lot of stuff just laying in my trunk(under trunk)
Stuff like screwdrivers, charging cable(you never use it if you charge home), car cleaning products, cloth,...
Stop that "being paid" nonsense...
@@michaels3003 Go to the VW dealership and see for yourself. Don't create a scene here. I know what I saw and what kind of car this is. I don't know who'd be foolish enough to buy it. What a waste of money on this car

Nice, but I’ll wait for Skoda’s own version!
Thanks 🙏

I prefer the Tourer model. Looking forward to seeing its launch and review.
Soon more here!
Thomas shoe game is always on point.👌I would take this over the tesla bt in estate form and with a brighter interior but also lets hope the buttons will be brought back in the facelift!
Are the touch controls on the central console finally lit or they are still impossible to see during the night lol
I did comment on that
Absolutely insane that VW know everyone hates their terrible non haptic capacitive button wheel, but they refuse to change it even in the car that isn't out yet, choosing to wait until the next production model after this.
Thomas dose the id7 have blind spot warning? as i was told on another video that the id3 on all models dose not have blind spot.
Thank you for this extremelly detailed review.
Finally a full electric station wagon

If that is true thank god we are not in EU
Can you tell me whether the VW ID.7 is the outcome of “Project Trinity”, or whether that’s a different car? Thank you. 😀

3:50 I guess it is 5-80 % in 30 min or 10-80 % in 28 min.?
Definitely more space than in Model 3 but price wise…sedan which starts from 65k (in Italy)… way more expensive than Tesla Model 3… crazy prices for EV…
15:41
👍
Excellent review as always Thomas!
Great video as usual. Concerning this to be an alternative to model 3 😂 Price is crazy.
You are the best, as always. Maybe you said, but I wasn't paying attention, what kind of batteries does this car have, LI or LFP?
Thanks 🙏 VW all LI
Frunk, especially a powered frunk, is great for small, but infrequently used things like charging cables...but also great for pungent takeout food! I also think indirectly, a frunk shows that the EV was built from the ground-up with more intentional user benefits, as opposed to a quicker/cheaper transposition from an ICE platform. It gives me more confidence that the automaker is committed to their EV designs.
is it better then byd seal?
Having a frunk isn’t critical for me. Especially If the maker frees up cabin space by making a smaller front area and putting HVAC systems in the front.
Is it like the ID.4 and disc front, an drum rear? I don't get it. I have 2015 VW Jetta and I get 4 wheel disc ABS.
Thanks! Better here indeed. Less beeping sounds, better suspension
Fantastic review 👍
Thanks 🙏
The ID. 7 badge on the rear is not centered! Look at 2:00
7 is centered, that’s how should be 😅
Hm yeah bad idea
I really like both the sedan and wagon versions. Beautiful car IMO. Too bad it is too expensive. Nice infotainment, hope it is stable.
Which EV like it isn't too expensive?
@@krane15 Exactly! Compared to other EVs, the car is priced right. However, all EVs are too expensive right now. Before, car manufacturers blamed the price of batteries for being high. But now batteries are much cheaper than they were 3 years ago and the prices keep falling every year. So, the battery reason is not a valid argument anymore.
Don’t think this is comparable to Tesla Model 3. Especially RWD standard range which is an absolute bargain compared to any similar German made EV. German manufacturers need to reduce their EV prices or get left behind.
15:41
The question of 'frunk or no frunk'... to me it depends if not having frunk = more rear trunk? Consolidate the stuff to the front and free up the rear? That's fine too.
Hi Thomas, I want to know if the elecrochramtic dimmable roof will be hot in the summer. at the end it is glass, right?
