If I’m not mistaken I believe her brother stated that Aaliyah had called their mother about an hour before aborting the plane & her mother even told her not to get on that plane and for her to either wait until the next day or for her to call for a bigger plane, Aaliyah didn’t do it .
& I keep saying if her mother & them was with her , they would have never never ever allowed her to get on any overloaded plane at all I can hear Mrs. Diane Haughton telling Aaliyah hell no your butt is not getting on no damn overloaded plane, now get your butt over there set down & I & your Father will call & setup another Plane to come in & get us & I’m 100% sure that’s exactly what her family did when ever they traveled with her and I’m sure her family didn’t get no bootleg airplane company to fly them neither & from what it sounds The airplane company was set up by Aaliyah’s record label cheap asses , I’m like her uncle need his black ass kicked for setting his niece up on a bootleg airplane from a bootleg ass airplane company that wasn’t even a real company like dudes your not going to even try to at least get them on a American Airlines or something that was way fucking better than what the fuck he paid for the cheap ass bastard was so damn cheap that he basically killed his own little niece and her crew .

Aaliyah was not cremated, I read some of the questions here, nor was her body extremely burned. It was the families choice to keep things private, it was and is their right. However before the funeral they did have a remembrance of Aaliyah in NY, with many pics of her, it was really nice. MJ was a closed casket as well and he was buried in gold! I used to work here and have visited Aaliya's resting place and a few others. Malcolm X is buried there too (outside with a flag of the ANC). This is a lovely place. Very clean and respects all graves equally.

Due to how badly Aaliyah's body was she couldn't have a public viewing the casket is behind the wall similar to the urns you saw when looking for her. The front of the wall moves open the casket is lifted to the emptied spot then wall closed back. These are very expensive. It's another option if a person don't want to be buried

You just get to the cemetery and walk in. You don't have to talk to anybody or ask permission for anything. I was expecting a lot more people to be in there the day that I went but aside from the manager and a worker there was no one else there. It's a pretty big place and it's so peaceful. It's open from 9:00Am - 4:00PM. The location is 280 Secor Rd, Hartsdale, New York. Good luck :)
