On this album Paul played all the instruments and the vocals are just he and Linda
He also recorded the songs himself!
And the song was for Linda
@@jthaw AND made the tea and sausages and chips
Paul loved Linda for most of his adult life, even having her sing onstage with his band (for which he was harshly criticized). A great couple; it must have been absolutely shattering when he lost her to cancer. Such a beautiful lasting tribute to their relationship.
He was criticized because she couldn't sing
He still loves her deeply
He still loves her deeply
Saw Paul and Linda in the early '90s. By then she was pro... I feel incredibly privileged to have been there. From halfway to the stage in the Omni in Atl Ga, you could sense the love- really.
And they had Wings era too, some decent songs
Linda was his everything....
TRUE!!!
Minus 1 leg , he's still looking for it , 😆
This was written about his wife Linda, whom he adored. Sadly she died of cancer years later.
Paul plays every instrument on this song.
Didn't know that. That's amazing (no pun intended). ♥️🎵
@@zadescrivner he played every instrument on the entire McCartney album.
Just think about Paul's output in the 2 years prior to releasing this first solo LP (I bought it the first week it came out back in 1970!). Many artists in music history (and some are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) would be happy with just half this output, let alone the rest of his Beatles, Wings and solo career!
1) He played drums and bass on "The Ballad of John & Yoko" with just John and himself on the single.
2) He wrote "Back in the USSR", "Martha My Dear", "I Will", "Birthday", "Helter Skelter", "Blackbird" and Ob-la-di Ob-la-da for the White Album
3) He wrote "Hey Jude"
4) He produced the worldwide #1 smash hit, "Those Were the Days' for Mary Hopkin on Apple Records
4) In Jan. 1969, The Beatles recorded his two classic compositions, "Let It Be" and "The Long & Winding Road" for the Let It Be LP and film.
5) A few months later, he went into the studio with his bandmates to record the legendary Abbey Road LP
6) A few months afte that, he wrote and produced Badfingers first #1 hit, "Come and Get It" on Apple Records.
It was a love song to Linda, Paul’s wife who pulled him out of a deep depression after The Beatles broke up!👍🏻❤️☮️🎼🎤
The Beatles were breaking up, and they had been like a family for years. Now all the guys were getting married and putting their wives ahead of the Beatles "family", and Paul was feeling a bit lost, but Linda was right there with him and helped him through a difficult time. This is , indeed, a love song. And a good one, at that!
Paul said he wrote it about Linda, after she gave birth to Stella.
@@janes.1559 Stella was born over a year after this song was released. You're probably thinking about their first child, Mary, who was on the over of the first McCartney solo LP.
@@shave-a-thon3415 it definitely was Mary because he wrote it well before Stella was born.
Linda was so wonderful, as a human and artist, her death was heartbreaking. She and Paul raised Heather, Mary, Stella and James so well. This video shows how he adored and loved Heather as his own child, step dad Extraordinaire. And Martha the sheep dog, martha, my love!
Might as well make it complete and do “my love” written for Linda also
@Rick Clark, agreed!
I second that request!
This mans' music will last forever. Be thankful you're living when he is alive. IMHO, the musical genius of modern times!
I think this one of the best solo works by McCartney. As others have stated, the song was written for Linda McCartney. He absolutely adored her.
His best love song far better then my valentine
This was a love song to Linda, his wife, who,23 passed due to breast cancer
Maybe I'm amazed at the way this song has gotten better with time. Paul nailed it with this one, yet the live version from 1976 is actually even better.
LIVE VERSION DOESNT COME CLOSE WITH PAUL; PLAYING EVERYTHING ,ITS UNBEATABLER
UNBEATABLE
Paul McCartney wrote this for his wife Linda.....she passed away RIP
Check out his songs: - Listen to what the man said - Band on the Run - Uncle Albert - With a little Luck - Silly Love Songs - Live and let Die - Coming Up - Don't say goodbye tonight - Jet - No more lonely nights
I love Paul Mccartney, especially with Wings. We played this song from my mom at her funeral, so I will probably be in tears by the end.
Other solo Paul Mccartney songs are Jet, Band on the Run, Silly Love Songs, My Love, Live and Let Die, or Let Me Roll It; also Say Say Say & The Girl is Mine (both with Michael Jackson), or Ebony and Ivory (with Stevie Wonder). He has a couple albums that have come out in the last couple years that are also really good.
I consider this to be his greatest love song…and that is saying something. He loved Linda.
One of the best songwriter of all times McCartny is an icon
You said-"This is Genius" - PERFECT way to describe Paul!
Love that man’s voice! It’s definitely a love song. Paul and Linda had one of the most beautiful love stories of all time. It was very sweet and touching. Very unusual for a celebrity to be so devoted to a partner. RIP Linda. 😇🌺✌️
Very special song to and about his wonderful wife Linda. This was initially created during the closing year of the Beatles. If they had continued this would have been a Beatles song. Simple genius
Every instrument was played by Paul, Sir Paul
@Armand Gunn
Sorry but you’re saying utter bollocks. Linda died of breast cancer in 1998 and Paul was at her side to the end at their ranch in Tucson. They were a close and loving couple.couple. They met when was still a Beatle and had three children and were always together
You should be ashamed of yourself for peddling lies and untruths. Shameful and a disgrace
Did you mean his later marriage to Heather ? She was awful
Of all of his solo work this is by far my favorite, the raw emotion, the passion, the soul in his voice just draws you in, then the instruments hits you......simply a masterpiece by a musical genius.
Thank you for you reaction, beautiful lady.
I remember the day my young daughter asked if I knew that McCartney was in a band before Wings?! 🤣😂🤣
It's hard to imagine someone growing up the 60's & 70's, not loving the Beatles, but for me, I loved them even more, when they had their solo careers, like George Harrison, Ringo Star, Paul McCartney, and of course John Lennon 🏩🏩🏩🏩
The music is like getting in a hot bath when you're feeling all achy. It's the best I can describe.
One of the Most Beautiful Songs Ever!! 💖💞
This was my favorite song for decades.
I've always loved Paul McCartney and his music, one of my favorite songs of his
Paul played every instrument in this song.
Linda was Paul's one true love; his world. Linda and the children. She died young of breast cancer. If you want to hear another amazing, beautiful song sung by Paul, react to: "The Long and Winding Road".
This is one of Paul McCartney's greatest songs..a beautiful and soulful love letter to the woman who not only made his life complete but also saved him from the shock of The Beatles splitting up..his beloved wife Linda.
Love seeing your reactions to this great classic song sweetheart
Did you catch the cameo of Martha (My Dear) at 4:10 ? White Album cut was written about his sheep dog 😉
"Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five" is another great McCartney track.
One of my all time favorite love songs.
This song live will make you cry
I was in high school when this song came out 1970, sent shivers down my spine still one of my favorite McCartney songs
All time classic! ♥ Check out his other solo songs: Band on the Run, Jet, No More Lonely Nites, Jrs Farm & Coming Up
Yes all were iconic! 🌹🌹🌹
One of the greatest love songs of all time, in my opinion.
Ugh..his screamy voice is so badass!!
He played every instrument on this record
I understand having your eyes closed in order to really soak in the music. I do it a lot myself. But, this song, along with the video he made, the pictures of his time with his wife and kids, really completes the song. So beautiful and moving. Tugs at my heart strings, every time.
Both one of the greatest and one of the saddest love stories of modern times.
Paul absolutely idolised Linda.
so glad that musicians can not only leave their words for the world, but also these music videos to accompany their words - add another level of emotions
Thanks gorgeous!
I haven't heard this in a long time....
A BEAUTIFUL love song to Linda....
You can FEEL the love in his vocals.
Timeless... and brought me to tears for her untimely death.
He is a beautiful man- inside abs out- Brilliance !!!!!!!!!
i recommend the best love song McCartney ever wrote its called MY LOVE , its his best selling ballad
Totally amazing track one of his best try to listen to live version from concert rock show
True That✌😎👍 Paul is my personal Best🥰
One of the greatest "heart on your sleeve" love songs ever!
The live version from " Wings Over America " is even better
WRONG
@@anthonyperry7771 yes it is. Its my favorite version
One of the best songs ever written, lyrically and musically !
P McCartney & Wings. Band on the Run. Silly Little Love Songs. Great music
They never spent a night apart. ❤️ RIP Linda McCartney.
Except in Japan😄
That song was made to his first wife, the american Linda (Eastman) McCartney.. R.I.P Linda
McCartney solo and w/ Wings is awesome. Check ‘em out!
Excellent song Paul McCartney wrote for Linda off his first solo album. Love it! ♥️🎼🎵🎶🇨🇦🇨🇦
McCartney released a new album last winter at 78 years old (he’s 79 now). His non-Beatles career rivals The Beatles in quality and dwarfs it in quantity. He is at once the most recognized, loved and successful rockstar - and the most underrated.
Every one of the Beatles were geniuses all on their own. But none of them was as good as them together.
You hit the nail on the head!
Just think about Paul's output in the 2 years prior to releasing this first solo LP (I bought it the first week it came out back in 1970!). This was McCartneys first solo effort. Paul played every instrument on it including the backing vocal tracks. A masterful and amazing singer song writer. One of the greatest of all time!! Jayy you mentioned that you thought that it sounded like a love song. it is a love song written about and for his lovely wife Linda. She was an amazing person who was creative and caring person in her own right.
Paul McCarthy and Wings - Live
Jet
Live and Let Die
You will adore his and wife Linda’s interaction on stage.
Paul McCartney. The most soulful Beatle. 😏♥️🎶♥️😏
There's a LIVE version of this, and it's one of the few live versions that actually sound better than the studio version IMHO.
BULL
Talk about a great singer!!! 🎤🎤🎤
Just.love this song and Paul's devotion
If you liked Paul’s vocals on this song check out “ Beware My Love” from “ Wings At The Speed Of Sound “. The vocals are awesome!!!
Of Paul' solo albums this is the best. And maybe his best solo song. Written about his wife Linda and what he was going through after the break up of the Beatles. He talks about this song in the Hulu documentary, McCartney 321.
Did you know that the designer Stella McCartney is Paul's daughter.
Love Wings era McCartney!
RIP Linda McCartney. She was his heart. Another beautiful song with personal family photos about love is "Beautiful boy" by John Lennon written for his youngest son, Sean. Beautiful video also. These types of videos remind you that The Beatles we're all just humans like us trying to find love and be good husband's/ father's, people. Great reaction Jayy.
Paul sings the best love songs
There are a few solo songs that equal the Beatles work...this is one..I saw him play it live in 2002 and it was incredible..Paul is truly a genius
My Love needs to be next…
This was one of the first songs he wrote after The Beatles Broke up. She really was his strength and rock. They met in 1967 when Linda was working as a Photographer which was in her blood since her Father Jim Eastman was the Co Founder of The Eastman Kodak Camera Empire. She met Paul at a Press Junket when Sargent Pepper was released. They married Two Years Later in 1969 and the Fans were heartbroken. In 1970 John Lennon said "I'm Leaving The Beatles' but it was Paul who put the wheels in motion to dissolve the Group and their Company "Apple". Because of litigation and legal issues, Paul's Accounts were Frozen so they lived off of The Money Linda made as A Photographer. They lived in Scotland, Grew their own food, became Vegetarians and later they moved into a Bigger Home. Their lives were very normal, the kids went to a Public School, if they went on Tour the Children came with them and they had a Tutor for them. They had chores, a regular allowance and his Kids are next to Diana Ross's the most stable in Show Business. He adopted Linda's Daughter Heather who was a Potter who now runs Linda's Vegetarian Frozen Food Company. The Baby is Mary his Eldest Daughter whose Son Arthur is at Yale, she's a TV Producer and Photographer in her own right. If you can check out Wingspan where she interviews him. Stella is a successful Designer and James is a Sculptor and Musician as well.
Hi. I agree with everything you said. But one little correction. Linda wasn't connected to the Eastman Kodack company. Her dad and brother were lawyers though. At least I think her dad was. Always a chance I could be wrong about that. I know her brother was. While John was fanboying over Allen Klein, Paul let her brother handle his finances. He must have done a hell of a job since Paul is now worth over a billion dollars. In an interview I watched recently, George said he was glad that Paul sued and their money had been frozen. Otherwise, Klein would have gotten a big hunk of it before the court case was over. Paul won that. George even lied in court stating they never had an understanding that any decision had to be unanimous or it was a no go. But they did. It was a rule they'd agreed on when they joined the band and it was never broken. Until Klein. Then it was 3 against 1 which clearly was not unanimous. Paul wanted Linda's brother to manage them. They didn't because they thought he'd give Paul preferential treatment with the contract. Which makes no sense. There wouldn't have been a separate contract with each member. It would be one standard contract for the band as a group. So, Paul couldn't have received a better deal since they would be signing the same contract. But that still wouldn't be unanimous because, right or wrong, the other 3 didn't want Eastman as their manager either. So, to keep their contract with each other, all four could have agreed to let John, George and Ringo sign with Klein and Paul sign with Linda's brother. Or another option would be not going with either man since they couldn't get all four of them to agree with either. Then find someone all four of them could trust and sign with that person. But Klein had agreed to help Yoko with her career as an incentive to John so whatever Klein and Yoko wanted was the way it was going to be. Klein told John that the four of them couldn't get together and work it out. The only way Paul could pull himself out of the band was to sue. But it wouldn't be Klein he was suing. He had to sue the other Beatles. Later, once John woke up and fired Klein, he admitted publicly that Paul had been right. Paul had won the lawsuit by then too. None of the other Beatles have come close to Paul's net worth. But they're certainly not poor either. And to be fair to John, we don't know what he may have accomplished if his life hadn't been brutally killed.
It truly is great song!! Another great Paul McCartney classic I'd love for you to react to is "Silly Love Songs" it's one of my favorite feel good songs of all time! I really do hope you'll do a reaction video to it!!🤞
Paul and Linda met in 1967 and got married in 1969. The Beatles broke up in 1970, and Paul took it harder than any of them. Drove him to drinking, deep depression, and he was questioning his talents and ability to write music and sing. He could barely go on in life.
Linda gave him serious inspiration, gave him the strength to keep going, and made him realize what a great person he is. She probably saved his life. He was that depressed.
So in response Paul wrote this song (and many others which became his first two solo albums) and came out of that dark depression into the light of life. He'd written many love songs to Linda over the years but this was his ode to her for helping him see that he can move on from the Beatles and be just as great on his own. He was truly amazed at how she helped him when no one else could. He felt alone and in the dark and she was by his side every step to get him through it. And when he came to the realization that he was a great person, he was blown away at how she stood by him and helped him through it.
Don't forget - this is a Beatle. To the rest of the world he was larger than life. Linda treated him and looked at him, from the beginning, like a regular human being, like James (his real first name) from Forthlin Rd Liverpool, not "Oh My God You're Paul McCartney"
It's been said Paul and Linda spent exactly one night apart from each other from the day they married in 1969 until she died of cancer in 1998. In that time they were at least for certain never seen apart from each other in public or private. She was always with him on every tour, at every event, and singing or playing keyboards on every album (even if she wasn't the best at either lol).
They had 4 wonderful children together and all of them have grown up to be successful in their own right without leaning on the crutch that their Dad was a Beatle or that he's a billionaire.
They are the embodiment of a true love story. And this song captures all of that.
Maybe the most genuine, honest, and heart-felt love song ever made...
This is my favorite song by Sir Paul
The best McCartney solo song EVER!!!!
Paul Rock's!
Try reacting to his song he did with the Beatles-"The long and Winding Road". Definitely tugs at the heart ❤
This all day!!! My favorite Paul song of all time♥️ Saw him live in Detroit when he toured in 2015 I believe it was and he was brilliant, everything you'd hope he would be 🐐🔥 He played my favorite George Harrison song Here Comes the Sun as a tribute to him and it was absolutely beautiful ☀️
Loved your emotion. What a good song! Thanks for sharing and yuor reaction. I recommend a Beatles song called 🅶🅸🆁🅻 from the Rubber Soul album by the Beatles. See you next time!

The one and only: Paul McCartney folks! Also he played ALL the instruments on this album! Much love darling! ♥️
My opinion this is Paul's best solo song 👍👍✌👽
Listen to how Paul sings it !live now! It is my favorite song by Paul.
This is the album version. For whatever reason, the it was the live version that became a big radio hit years later.
One of Paul best song
Such a great song.
Complete love!
There are now three 'McCartney' albums (you might like to check out some of the videos for the latest one - which has been reinterpreted by modern artists). The original was also self-produced, with Paul playing all the parts - with the exception of Linda on backing vocals. Her presence as companion, wife, mother, etc was a huge element of stability in his life; though her presence in his touring band, Wings, would be largely talismanic. On one occasion, he recalled, she forgot her keyboard part and as he rushed to her side to help out, realised he'd forgotten the chords too!
This is my favorite solo McCartney song
A love song written and sung by Paul McCartney for his first wife, Linda who sadly passed away from cancer at a young age.
The little tv thingie is cool.
You are very beautiful and I love Paul McCartney
Just subscribed and went through your listings. YES. The band. You have not reacted to anything yet. Let’s start with ROUNDABOUT. Love the channel.
Now you have another rock/Beatles "classic" in your ears/soul ☺️ 💕 great choice and another great genuine reaction. Definitely check out his song, "my love"
