Egiovanni 01 Wrong. Shadow the Hedgehog takes place after Sonic Heroes which takes place after SA2. Also, neither Heroes nor Shadow have the gameplay of the Adventure titles. Heroes is a team-based beat'em-up while Shadow focuses on guns, vehicles and game progression being affected by your actions which is an idea scrapped from SA2 but not much else than that.

I don't think Eggman and Tikal were intended to be playable. Rather, them being programmed as characters is a cheap way for them to have more complex movement in cutscenes than standard NPCs.
Yeah, I know. I say at the beginning that they were found in the game's files. I also say that in the gameplay video for them. Not to burst your bubble, but you should probably watch and pay attention to the video before making assumptions.
Besides, it's a secret SEGA and Sonic Team slipped in, it's not cheap in the slightest. Just like how people blame them for making Sonic as some "product placement", even though THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT GAMES ARE MADE FOR.

The characters in the cutscenes operate the same way as the player but they're given specific instructions by the game regarding how they move etc. Eggman and Tikal are the only NPC characters who are able to move around in the same style as the player ones.
The game wasn't created with people breaking open its files and finding unused content in mind. We can see this because the Dreamcast version's disc was designed (via tracks) to hide the directory containing the game's files (Track 3) if the disc was put into a computer. Instead, you get some wallpapers and credits info for the game (The contents of Track 1).
If Eggman and Tikal were really intended to be playable, you'd think they'd program the game to at least be able to load the characters normally. The only reason you're able to use them is because MainMemory's mod fixes the problems preventing them from spawning. If you try playing as them without those fixes, you just get stuck because the game doesn't have the info needed to load them into the map as playable characters.
So really, they're just among the playable characters as part of how the game works. Saying they were intended to be found by hackers is like saying Wechnia or Blue Knuckles were too.
Okay, I see your point. Personally, the point of the review isn't saying everything depends on hacking, it says that these were secret characters that may have been intended to be playable, and by "it seems obvious", I didn't mean it WAS obvious, since it could very well be different. That's just what it comes off as. Also, yes, the characters have identical animations and appearances to them in the cutscenes, but both characters in the cutscenes seem to have player input attached, and even if they aren't added in and used exactly how I stated, if they're playable (they are, obviously) they're still secret playable characters! They aren't supposed to be, but they are! I get your point, but all I'm saying is that they are somewhat playable, and that's all that matters.

The cowgirl was removed from all western versions because when u hit her, she makes an unsettling moaning sound. From why I know, you can still find the model in western versions,it's behind their original spot and the model is a playboy bunny with a wine drink, another reason why it was removed in later releases.

Well, then you’d LOVE the new version, because this is an insanely outdated video!
Personally, I disagree with the theory that Eggman and Tikal were supposed to be playable in the final game. If you look at any character's movements during cutscenes, you'll see that the character moves in the same way they would during gameplay, while pre-set animations are triggered during the scene. And you'll see that the game reuses several of these animations throughout. The game only really half switches between play mode and cutscene mode. It uses the characters as the player would during gameplay, just with it's own pre-set controls. I think this is why Tikal and Eggman are playable through hacking. They made them playable so they could use them during cutscenes. I could be wrong, of course, but to me, this seems like the most likely answer.
I actually agree. When I said, "it seems obvious", I meant it SEEMS obvious. However, there was some player input added to their character models, so why was it there to begin with? No other character in the cutscenes had player input, so they clearly were different in some way from the rest. But hey, the animations are almost identical, so who knows?
Now that I think about it, that is true. I've not seen any "Train Station Employee In Emerald Coast" videos, or really anything with other cutscene characters, so it's entirely possible Eggman and Tikal had a different role early on.

About these 2 characters:
The cutscenes are on top of gameplay (as SPEEPSHighway said for example), wich probably means that the scenes use mechanics from normal gameplays (that's why the idle animation on eggy was the same as in the cutscene after you have defeated chaos 0). Eggman and Tikal were also created as hidden playable characters, while others (Like chaos for example) not.

Hey guys, if you have the sadx trainer, go into debug mode with super sonic during some of the levels. You can find some neat shit by flying out side the boundaries and looking around.

Sadly, there's nothing related to Mushroom Hill in the game, but for all we know, they could've gotten the idea of a new Mushroom Hill as a level concept, kind of like how Icecap was an updated version of Ice Cap Zone. The least we can do is speculate.
Fun fact: You know the game Sonic Jam? Well, if you do then that game was an EARLY PROTOTYPE OF SONIC ADVENTURE!!!!!!!! That is probably why that sprite was used!

Okay, I know you guys get confused about this, so let me help you out: the robot inside the Final Egg lobby is NOT Silver Sonic from Sonic 2 or 3 And Knuckles. It looks like him, but the concept was reused in the Archie comics. He was named Silver Sonic II, or Silver Sonic 2.0, and was the second version of Silver Sonic 1.0. I think that the ''Mushrooms stage'' was the Mushroom Hill stage from Sonic 3 and Sonic And Knuckles.
Contrary to past comments, the word "Mushrooms" doesn't immediately reference Mushroom Hill. It's just as logical as saying it's a reference to Super Mario, since there certainly are a lot of mushrooms there! In fact, mushrooms are probably what Nintendo was on when making the series.

Hmm.. my theory is that mushrooms just might be a mushroom hill remake from sonic and knuckles. Its got mushrooms in it. Or it could have been a mario dlc level. Either way it is really cool.
1) Mushroom Hill is a plausible theory, since Icecap is a remake of Icecap Zone.
2) I highly doubt Mario dlc was considered.
Jungle is angle island from 3&k mushroom is mushroom hill from 3&k and dessert might be the unused desert stage from Sonic 2 or CD which inspired the Sonic mania dessert stage

Sonic 2 can be sonic adventure dx made in the year 2,022 or 2,023. Sonic 3 can be sonic adventure 2 battle, Sonic 4 can be sonic heros all with Jim Carrey as Dr Robotnik. Dr Robotnik should create metal sonic along w scratch & grounder.

They're two of the three GUN mech boss fights in SA2. Sonic fights Bigfoot, Shadow fights Hotshot, and Rouge fights Flying Dog, who's just like Bigfoot and Hotshot aside from having no legs and floating the entire time.

Yeah, I definitely didn't mention as many things as I should've. I will admit, though, adult jokes like that have been in kids entertainment for quite a while. At least they added something kids likely wouldn't understand. And thankfully, it doesn't exactly moan, but mostly just grunts. And it grunts when you touch any part of it. Case in point, it's at least a subtle secret and not straight-up perverted.

I know this was made a year ago but i have a theory about the unused character slot in the digital pc, xbox, and ps4 version the silver sonic 2 was moving even it could have been used to be playable at one point

Here's the thing, though: her texture file is titled "CREAM.PVM", so her name was already picked out. Most importantly, though, she's only in the DX version, which came out in 2003, whereas Cream debuted in Sonic Advance 2, which came out in 2002, a year before. Therefore, Cream was already a character made by SEGA for Sonic Advance 2 (probably to add a new character after Shadow died at the end of SA2 and SA2B) and added her as a surprise Easter egg in the new DX version of SA1. SEGA and Sonic Team, you geniuses!

Well, Hyper Metal Sonic is an okay guess, but Mecha Sonic isn't in any way, shape or form similar in appearance to Silver Sonic. He's dark blue and has a single eye.
That's because Mecha Sonic in Sonic 2 was a beta the first model then in Sonic and Knuckles it's an updated version(the near identical attack pattern support this) Silver Sonic was the named used in the master system version for reasons unknown
But Silver Sonic's in Sonic & Knuckles. The robot in Sonic Adventure remains unnamed, so you can't immediately assume what it was. After all, the comics are a clear piece of evidence. There isn't any evidence stating that it was the original Silver Sonic besides the fact that he looks a bit like him.

Cool video with a lot I'd never heard of, but some of your theories are off. The developers wouldn't have needed to use extra characters to explore the levels- they could do the exact same thing with the regular characters (or no character at all) by turning off collisions or something. Eggman and Tikal were probably meant to be playable in some context, but they must have been abandoned pretty early since neither have a jumping animation and Tikal doesn't even have a running animation, just a sped-up walking one.
Also, it's unlikely that Super Sonic was removed because he was too glitchy- remember that you're playing a mod. Someone has taken the version of Super Sonic you use in the final battle and only programmed to interact with features in the final battle, and plonked it in the regular stages as-is. Super Sonic was never made to function in a normal level and the levels aren't programmed to keep up with him- his controls would take a lot of brushing up by someone who knows what they're doing to get through a level without turning it into a glitchy mess.
Well, I stand corrected as always. Two whole paragraphs of some seriously badass debunking. However, I didn't say Super Sonic was too glitchy in the levels. The Tikal voice clips clearly stated Super Sonic was playable before the mod had anything to do with it. Yeah, you're right, he was simply programmed and placed into the game, but he was modeled exactly how the voice clip described it (gather 50 rings, press the action button while jumping, etc.) so it wasn't just Super Sonic simply added into the levels. Everything else you pointed out, I have literally nothing to say against. It was a thought, I didn't actually think it was a legit possibility. But trust me, I wouldn't be irritated with anyone who tells me off like this. If they stay rational with their remarks, I'll actually always be impressed. I'll make sure to try harder in future videos. :)

True. Mushrooms were in White Jungle (the little ones you can pick up and throw), Frog Forest, and Lost Jungle, so that isn't too bad of a theory.
