To see her grounded again would litterally break my heart, at least my son got to see where she really belongs.........in the air & doing her best to rupture spleens with her mighty voice, lets hope my grandkids one day can experience the grace & beauty of XH558 THE DELTA LADY.

Not wishing to start an argument tradbgon, but I'm an airshow enthusiast and a lifelong Vulcan supporter. This is more than just an aircraft. It is an absolute thing of beauty. An engineering triumph (bear in mind it first flew 10 years after the Lancaster did, and in the hands of a good pilot would outmanoeuvre an F-15 Eagle at altitude). It is a British icon, a statement of what we as a nation can do (used to be able to do, some would say). Just watch the reaction of people who watch it fly.

I remember the Vulcan In the 50s when it was first put in to service along with the other two the Victor and the Valiant ,never thought i would see the day when only one remained .she's a n incredible aircraft along with the Hawker Hunter of course
I saw XH558 at Leuchars air show this year, truly amazing!
I just wish Health & Safety, and their insurance company let it use full power more often!!
I also know that the Vulcan's electronics officer at Leuchars this year was one Barry Masefield, who was the AEO of XH607 during the 1st Black Buck mission
It would be great if XH558 appeared at the Eastbourne airshow next year.
WOW! If the Vulcan can do that to people imagine what it would be like if a Concorde were to be restored and display at airshows!

Lovely to see at Fairford last year, if a sponsor can't be found maybe if everyone visiting an airshow in 2010 gives a quid on the gate for the Vulcan that might do the job.
Moreover, it is about preserving aviation history, a worthwhile cause whether the aircraft be British, American, Russian or whatever. People such as myself have and will continue to put hands in pockets to support this aircraft because it is loved so much. As for old...well yes it is. However the venerable B-52 first flew in 1952 and its not only still operational, it is being re-engined and prepared for at least two decades more service. 2 million a year is a lot, yes. But worth every penny.
I will be doing a sponsored bike ride from Woodford to Brunters in the summer to raise money for the mighty Vulcan, hoping to raise a fair bit!

THE VULCAN IS Aviation :D always will be. We do need a sponsor but the only prob with that is they will wreck her. I meen they will paint there shitty logo on her just like they did with the sea vixon ????? WTF I hope she stays alive. You have my support.
Why the hell won't the memorial flight take her on? She needs that kind of protection, and she more than deserves it.
