    Excellent video. Could you tell me where you got the tool to remove the crankshaft needle bearing?
    Thank you very much

    Just wondering why you have to put engine in top dead centre for the rear main I have my clutch to do I plan on replacing the rear Maine

      It's simply a step to make sure that you have got the timing on the metal ring exactly right. If you use the timing tool for the rear main oil seal it will also require you to lock the engine in TDC. That is your default position for anything to be lined up that's got a position reference on the crank or camshaft.

    Hi Willem , is there anyway of replacing the gear selector mechanism without removing the whole gearbox assembly?

    • @willemtreurnicht3818
      @willemtreurnicht3818  3 роки тому

      Yes I believe you should be able to remove it maybe from the top into the cab. Have not done it yet... but quite certain it will be possible.

    Hi Willem, hou hierdie videos van jou al vir 'n rukkie dop en het my baie gehelp. Moet nou moontlik self my flywheel en clutch vervang, bakkie maak n klop geluid as hy idle, maar geluid gaan weg as clutch ingetrap word.
    Watter gearbox olie het jy gebruik, ek sukkel om te kry en volkswagen kwoteer my R3000 net vir olie, dit kan seker nie reg wees nie?
    Groete

    Hello, I was wondering if you knew to to remove the prop shaft on my VW amarok 2015 model number 2H0521101c

      front or rear one? The front one just levers off... There's a clip inside on the shaft that clips in place inside the cv. I used a crowbar to get it off... For the side on the trasfer case I just used a small piece of wood to lever against to protect the transfer case.

    Hi, why do you have to set to TDC when doing a clutch

    • @willemtreurnicht3818
      @willemtreurnicht3818  3 роки тому

      I replaced the rear main oil seal, so needed to time it to TDC to get the timing on the ring right that's part of the oil seal. The crank sensor pick up from that ring so it's quite critical that it's timed correctly.
      If you only do the clutch and not the seal then you don't neet to time it.

      Can I remove the crank sensor in place with out removing cluctch

    • @willemtreurnicht3818
      @willemtreurnicht3818  3 роки тому

      @@zainfaruk5202 Yes you absolutely can. It has a rubber plug and has to be removed from the front...
      might be a bit difficult to get there but it is designed to be removed with the gearbox in place...

      @@zainfaruk5202 did you refit the ring with the timing hole lining up? And did you time the engine on the crank for TDC?
      What part do you need to see?

    Ek was bekommerd oor die crank seel, maar sien nou dit kan gedoen word sonder daardie "special tool". Baie dankie.

      Johann mens moet dit wel meer versigtig doen as met die tool, maar ek het al twee so gedoen sonder enige moeilikheid. die een was op die 1.9tdi touran. Mens kan die tools redelik maklik bestel van aliexpress of een van die plekke af...
      En ek sou dalk, maar ek het die werk gedoen net voor ons in lockdown gegaan het en baie ander lande het al grense toegemaak... so was nie regtig op daardie stadium 'n opsie nie.
