@@sambenjamin9636 I heard it from Ellefson himself in an interview. I just looked online to find something about it and sure enough... Google search, "10 things you didn't know about Megadeth's Peace Sells". It's #4 on the list by Revolver magazine. (Don't feel too bad, you were only 75% wrong)
He didn't KEEP his Faith, he came to it later. And you don't have to Pop to be popular. Metallica isn't close to Pop. The whole thing is more complicated.
If you have researched anything then you'd know metallica went heavy metal, instead of thrash and then hard rock/heavy metal. And Dave didn't believe in god and was NOT even christian, until 2008-2009... Also megadeth went heay metal as well with Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia and Cripting writings and then Hard rock with risk.
Because he and other band members had severe drug/alcohol issues, and couldn't keep a stable band lineup together. He's also a narcissistic jerk. Musically, the guy can write some great songs, and he's a damn good guitar player, but his voice sucks. Add to that his obsession with trying to top Metallica, and how tough it was for him to see them become gods, while he couldn't quite reach that level.
They probably would have but for the heroin and crack, along with the bad behavior that comes with it. This remains my favorite lineup of the band, however.
+Jake Johnson it is a more natural sound. today's music is so fake & overproduced that artists barely need talent. my band in college, we mostly played acoustic Christian-hard-rock
Grande megadethh!!!!
I know this entire song on guitar (it may not be exactly right but it’s as close as I can possibly get). It took me two months to learn because all the constant solos and lack of video evidence out there. Every Megadeth song is a nightmare, but especially Poland’s parts. I just don’t understand how he can do that so perfectly clean and effortless. Tone is apart of it but still. Mustaine does some really hard shit too, but you’re allowed to be a bit more sloppy with it.
this bass line was used as one the MTV News intros back when MTV played music. great bassline
Dallas Ponder totally! FTØP
Dave actually wrote that riff on an old bass that Ellefson had lying around with the frets removed.
So it was written by Dave on a fretless bass.
@@t-boog2173 That's bs I think. Like, I'm 75% sure that's not how it went down.

1:21 The best, the master, the jazz cat metal head
What's great about this video is underneath the bootleg quality audio, that's 100% the Peace Sells tone
Kind of quarter step down. Not in E 420 Hz exactly, more like 423 Hz or something like that. I have a guitar tuned like this to play KIMB songs
They were running Rockmans into Marshalls Jcm800s
Great cameraman
Man. They must have been so crazy to see back in 86!!!
I saw them 88 Monster of rock, Castle Donnington. Can't remember a thing about it.
best Megadeth line up!
If I get a flux capacitor, I will see this gig!
it's about time.........get it???
Shoot, if you save me a seat I’ll bring the plutonium.
I like this band and this song is one of my favorite Megadeth songs
Ahhhhh,,,, back at the Token Lounge,,, I was there !!!!
Geez, Chris Poland's hair looks hilarious!
Jason M looks like overgrown surfer dude hair
Looks like he was still stuck in the 70's. Lol
Who's dad is this 😂
Did he come on a motorbike? Hair Helmet
To fucked up on herion to care lol love it !!!
Dave SHOULD have been the biggest thing in Metal. Not EXACTLY sure why he wasn't.
+Bill Kilmer Metallica went pop when their stuff started selling. these guys held on to their true music. & Dave kept his faith in God too

yes i have researched that & understand it better now. thank you.

Great days.
Chris Poland?
Yes
yeah dude, he wsa probably tripping balls too hahahaha
Just wish Poland and Gar wouldve stuck with them. Poland had some of the most unique and juicy playing.
They probably would have but for the heroin and crack, along with the bad behavior that comes with it. This remains my favorite lineup of the band, however.

@@dirfdirf4516 I’m a Metallica and Megadeth fan. You’ll learn to appreciate both bands when you get a little older, champ.
Well said
I love the sound of Dave with a BC Rich. Something about humbuckers, instead of active pick ups and shit like that.
+Jake Johnson it is a more natural sound. today's music is so fake & overproduced that artists barely need talent. my band in college, we mostly played acoustic Christian-hard-rock
Good point. Keep in mind though that the Moser circuit of his Bich is actually an active setup, featuring a preamp and boost for both pickups.
Dave didn’t use actives u til 2007, I personally prefer when he was playing Jackson’s with Duncan Jb’s that was his best sound imo.

I can play the rythm part but looking at the solo tabs is like trying to read an alien language
😩 Why the fade out?! I wish I were there! Thanks for the upload. 🙏🏼
thats my birthday but 20 years early
Mine was when they played in essen 88 but like 19 years early lol
Genial
Come back to Detroit
Mustaine was a monster on rhythm
At that time it was Lead.

me da un buen de risa como era de chillona su voz de de dave en esos tiempos

Did Dave ever sing the chorus live at any performance? Been searching...
Hammersmith 1992 London and south Korea 2001
I think there's the only 2 times when Dave sing the chorus or at least in a recording
Anyone know which venue this was?
It is the Token Lounge, I was there,,, actually Westland Mi. ua-cam.com/video/s1M18jV8htw/v-deo.html
