    I love the idea of the dog beds! I didn’t know something like that existed. It’s so nice when you can find tools to help keep children safe and happy.

      You are so kind. We’ve been through a lot of different types of tent beds with Ezra especially and he keeps getting out of them and breaking them. This bed, so far has worked for him. But hopefully we can get the big safety bed soon for him, since he’s getting bigger.

      When I was four I slept in a toddler bed with sides on it like a crib that was bigger than that but not by much. I didn’t want to give it up at first so I can believe that it would be comforting.

    Hey guys, I suppose you already have the safety beds by now. But I realised a Swag would more or less be a large version of the dog bed solution. You could zip up the flywire and leave the canvas layer open. I don't even know if you have swags in America or if that's just an Australian thing but it might help someone out. And I'll be keeping it in mind for when my son is older. Right now he can only get into an empty hallway since all the door handles are super high in the house we're in right now.

    How old is that house and it’s a beautiful house lotta I’ve been a lot of houses like similar like that but they were very old the old hardwood floors people kept up with the hardwood floors and they have hardwood floors but I had them but I put rugs down I don’t I didn’t we have a we have a very old carpet and we still have it it’s ugly poop brown copy but it’s very comfortable. It’s like it’s from the 70s shag but we had to get rid of because it was getting very when I was a little kid. I used to love sleeping on it and it was so comfortable as old probably from the 60s. I don’t know how old it was. No one knows how old that was. It was from my grandparents I believe on my father side and it wasn’t a very nice color but it’s so soft how to get rid of it was like I want to find another one so soft. I cannot wait to eat my meal and go pass out on the floor watch TV like like on the Thanksgiving football something baseball whatever we’re old is it at my grandparents in I never met my dad‘s mom, but I was very close with my grandfather when I was five years old and I stayed in that house with my father‘s two brothers and sisters they lived with each other all Eliza still together, but they’ve moved in couple times over and so they got rid of a lot of stuff and we’re mad but that’s OK. My father was like to see yours he let them sell the house did not ask anything for it because most of it was his too because he does too well the only ones alive you know my cause. My aunt died young and I was close to. We were all close to both of them then and we were very close to my father side but it kind of fell apart. I don’t get along with my step cousins, the oldest one I do, I don’t talk to him because he’s out where you round your way, and he does very well for himself now and he was crazy when he was a little kid his parents would use to go to to the vacation home and then you still have my my father run the party 🎉 we and they my dad’s friends should do you vacation home is so beautiful. Used to go down there every year small we go there for a week or two because we used to go different places in the Cape and then we are used to love riding the bike to the Cape but I didn’t like the beach very much because they all like sun bears and stuff and it was boring. It got boring and they wouldn’t let me jump off the bridge like everyone else because I I cut myself on some coral so I never did it again and I was mad about that cause I like that I used to like that’s one thing I like it wasn’t you know it was eight it goes deep but it’s kind of coral and I didn’t hit my. I don’t know I love I didn’t hit the rock, but I swear myself and my parents are mad at me because I jumped off the bridge and they told me not to. We had so much fun.❤ this is this so much but my I heard of my cousins parties win some of the best ones around and yeah unsavory things went on but some of them my father said yeah they could party in they didn’t drink as much as they did and they could drink and we could drink to, but I’m sorry about alcohol and being from around where you are, especially but I’m going through things right now. I’m very mad at my brother and he’s mad at me for no reason but he’s coming here. We’re gonna try to work things out. I haven’t seen them in almost a year.

    Link to the dog bed!!!! We have been in search for quite some time for something like this for my son. The cubby beds are just way out of budget and you have to jump through hoops for insurance for it, and it’s also just way to big for my sons room, but this, this just seems like perfect for what we’re looking for! I’m just curious though, can Simon climb out? That’s my only concern with my son is that he could climb out (if the top is open).

    When I was younger, I was offered to sleep in my mom's bed or on the couch but you know where my favorite spot was? The floor. In between the bed and the dresser. We lived in a affisaincy apartment at the time. One big space as living room and bedroom and there was a doorway arch to the kitchen then the bathroom and n the left side of the kitchen the was a door where there was a small space so both apartments had access to the basement cause of somewhat tornado alley. That little spot on the floor was like my bedroom. I was only nine and that was before I had a phone or a tablet. Honestly in my opinion those were some great Times and I just remember it by heart. The area we lived at and everything. The people at the church we went to( same church I misbehaved at) they were so nice and amazing people and I hope I get to see them again one day. It's a bit emotional but In a great way. 🥲😇

    You do everything you can to keep them safe. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. I can tell you're a loving attentive mom. May I make a suggestion for a bed idea? Idk if you've heard of The Safety Sleeper. It's a special enclosed bed for kids. It grows with them and is portable too.
    Another family I follow their vlogs on youtube, Emily and Will, on It's A Wonderful Life Channel have one for their 6 year old son Griffin and they love it. It's helped them so much and him with his special needs.
    I wanted to pass this on to you and your family if your interested. 💜
    If you are, and search on youtube,
    "Griffin Got His New Safety Sleeper It's a Wonder Life" , it'll show in the vlog them getting it, what it's like, setting it up and Griffin using it.

    How much is rent where u live.. roughly? Here in ontario canada for a home this size you would pay about 3500 a month for rent plus gas and electricity. Ontario is the most exspensive place to live in Canada. For a 2 bedroom its about 1900 to 2500 a month depending if ur in a city or on the outskirts

    • @7Aheadfamily

    I have a question, why do they need safety beds? I suspect my 2.5year old has mild autism. He wakes up at night and runs out of his room. I started to lock his door so that I can get to him instead of him running through the house. Is that the reason? Or would there be other reasons for it?

      That would be what it seems.....
      However, does it work? Apparently. Have they been destroyed? I have one for my destructive chewer of a dog, it hasn't been destroyed yet AND those on the spectrum particularly those who are on the not ideal end (those who run/escape any chance given and/or non verbal- not that there is anything wrong with these things but not easy for the caregiver) have some tendencies to bring a bit destructive and those seem to be intact/not destroyed. Are they the most ideal thing to use? It depends on a few things. These are- size of the user and comfort level towards it. It seems that these kids have positive associations to them.
      Also, it didn't appear in the video that these were directly on the floor as there is padding under them (mattress in one case and a potential gymnasium mat under the other).

    • @7Aheadfamily
      @7Aheadfamily  Рік тому

      @@Leslie_ann_h You got it! We do have a safety bed coming for Ezra, as he has created a hole in his dog bed and it may not last much longer. 😜

    • @Leslie_ann_h
      @Leslie_ann_h Рік тому

      @@7Aheadfamily thanks and no problem. I just figured that as another person who is on the spectrum (luckily the more ideal end-> verbal and not destructive although I do struggle with social skills, reading others emotional cues, have some situational awareness and how to appropriately respond to them along with some self injury stimming issues; not that being on the spectrum is ideal in anyway), I figured that I would share my experience with using the particular type of crate.
      Although, granted I should have shared this in the comment I left above but, I myself feel more comfortable sleeping in a smaller and near blackout area than a neurotypical person to the point of up until I moved from upstate New York to Florida at age 19, I slept in a modified heavy duty toddler bed that I built/made a custom bed tent for with pvc pipes and modified blackout curtains to go over the pipes that completely enclosed the bed with but could sit up in without being hunched over. The enclosed darkened space made me feel safer when getting ready to sleep and when sleeping. Being as your two on the spectrum kids seem to be quite comfortable being near their beds however unconventional they are, they obviously have no qualms about their beds BUT they may feel comforted by the tight quarters that the large soft sided crates provide to them making them an excellent tool for them to sleep in or decompress when needed.
      In fact, I'd recommend that you see about patching the hole created by Ezra and putting it in a quiet and if possible dimmed or darkened area in your house (may want to put a comforter over top of it leaving one side open so he can crawl in it still) and work on associating it for whenever he gets anxious or irritated so he has a spot dedicated to going to to decompress as he sees fit. Yes, this will take time and will need to adjust it as needed as he grows larger, but even those on the more not ideal end of the spectrum will eventually recognize when they feel uptight or agitated to seek out their space to decompress. Perhaps you can sew pockets onto the inside walls of it to put his favorite stim toys? This way he can associate the space quicker with stimming and decompressing needs that he can seek out on his own. Only say this because whether one is or not on the spectrum, everyone needs their own area that they can access and use to decompress from internal and external stressors/stimulus of the day but those on the spectrum need this more because of how the brain is wired and are likely stressed easier as those on the spectrum don't have the filter to weed out unimportant stimulus that neurotypicals do.

    And we just finished the hard Legos. It was hard and you know I was it I have Legos but I’m not a master my kids want to be masters, but we finished a hard when we had a lot of help. My niece who’s always has a mask so she was always packed away at it. It was like a full scale like 3D of Mickey Mouse like that was so cool and I bought it. I knew it was way too hard for us but we got help with it and it still stands. I mean it gets wrecked once a while but I fix it as much as I can or if it’s get fixed I’ll fix with my kids and you know that I want to keep it up and I thought it’s cool so I bought this some nice that’s out there. Maybe I’m gonna get some more actually I am going to get some more the small sets. Yeah they’re getting bored with them but I had you know I like I really like puzzles but I just kind of bottom but I could fit pieces together when I was older my jobs are used to love it and I do it with my kids is that um are you are used to love finding the end pieces of the puzzles, so I’m kind of good at that. I’m good at puzzles that’s one of the good things I’m good at your house I have people here they’re all sleeping. The kids are safe at the park with people who love them and I’m happy for him I’m gonna do a little something and I am not. I’m not mad at my son for sticking up for himself but maybe will take them out of the pool once in a while you know for half hour like everything in a little while that’s what they used to do with me when I was bad yeah he was bad at school but the other kid was bad too. Who cares if he was a younger kid he’s sticking up for himself. I’m Sorry I can’t you know it’s hard.I try I try so hard and they do too like every kid in class but I don’t know this story but if you don’t wanna know mine if you have a story while I have twice as many stories as dear classmates families, see this just starting school end. You don’t know what I’ve been through with classrooms like that when I was that age how hot it was, his dad ever gone fly fishing from your neck of the woods that’s where I would love to go fly fishing. Your daughter is a very talented artist and my sister is the same way and I still have one in my old house. My room is by my room except for when I was on the couch for my whole life. I’ve been in the house for 40 something years and I still have it up. Yeah it’s dusty and stuff but it was all pitch. It looks just like your daughters Sent you a picture of it at Canada. Think it’s scream I’m not too sure I’m gonna have to show my sister she’s coming over today in I’m gonna ask her about it you know I do I kind of like at my self mean like on Antiques Roadshow I watch Antiques Roadshow I don’t care. I like to know a lot about some of the things I’ve seen on that show but the pictures almost the same, it’s a little small but I always had it above one of my closets and I just left it there because my cousin who passed away he’s my god brother he’s so he’s like 16 years younger than me he said you’re talented Allison I never said anything and that it was my sister my sister that did it because I I was proud. That kid made me proud that day. He thought I was a alest cause I’m not. I cannot draw. I used to hate Karen so much. I cannot stand the lines. I tried so hard. I love the history of the artist and I always was that was always cool that Dr. Seuss was around here from around here and he was a good eyeless Norman white Rockwell and I always liked old cathedrals and stuff. I’m very into stuff like that and that’s amazing and it’s just like it. I’m gonna have to take it home. Actually it’s not even at my house. I have to get it. I’m gonna have to ask my sister about it and see even if see if she wants it back because it’s a very nice she did almost the same exact thing it’s but it’s very it’s not too small trying to remember it and I remember what it looks like but I don’t know how big it is some of the items amazing like the Mona Lisa I always loved the Mona Lisa

    We tailed tell it like it is in this family and I did that with my 11 year old. Hes not used to that cause hes not here. His family has a lot of money. And that's why I let him stay in Delaware to help him. After his mom died. I want to go visit my ex's wife. And you know, she's like my ex-wife. Because we were gonna get married and she. Actually died in a car accident in. I loved her so much and I wanna go visit her grave with my son hes mad at me right now. Cause it's the way the way I talked to him on the way I grew up using the F-word I used to F-word a lot when I was a little kid but I also have uncles who are gay so and my son is very mad at me but he says he forgives me because he knows how hot it was for me growing up. Cause I tell him a lot of stuff I and there's a lot of stuff. I don't want him to know. But I'm gonna talk to him so bad all alone. And he says hes gonna get out of camp, and hes gonna come app here and I'm excited to see. Henry❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤heney
