I wanna see sound like Meshauugh just so i can see Rebea play a 8 string
No doubt💀
@@UGDEPit'd be really difficult to be honest. Especially if there's going to be any attempt at the lead tone fredrik has.
Plus a lot of the sound is lundgrens.
If you want to ask for the near-impossible, sound like Animals as Leaders without busting. Ha!
@@UGDEP budget 2x12 cab, mooer babybomb 30, mooer ge200, ibanez rg8, bam there you go.

I'm here at the Ibanez booth for the Jim Root Signature Fender...wait
Lol truth.
I'm going to Anderton's next month. If I don't see a Jim Root signature fender in the Ibanez rack, I'll know that shenanigans were afoot here
Dude saaame. It tripped me the fuck out haha
Daveataway also did u notice that reabea aka Mick played Jim’s octave part in duality
@@jchristie254 please update when you get back
3:11 "I'm here at the Ibanez section-"
Me: Why!?
"-and I found this..."
Me: Oh thank god
Dylan Hutto same😂
Is that a remark on ibanez or just the fact that jim doesn't use ibanez?
More because he literally has a Squier that they could have used on the Without Busting but instead they had to get as close to the budget as possible it seems. Going with the cheaper option- and closest I might add, would have made more sense
What does a Jackson do that an Ibanez can't? Headstock shape doesn't count.

"Ok so like we did it in the wrong tuning last time, so this time lets do it in the right tuning....... B........ Standard"
You mean Drop B?
@@CursedinDisguise yes it is drop b but i was quoting them when they said b standard
they are in b standard so that its easier to do their B and A riffs without tuning all the strings down.
@@akyrothea4919 they could just play all their drop B stuff.......
They should play in drop z
I push my fingers into my... notification
it's the only thing that.. infroms me of a new video!
But it's made of all... the videos I have to watch!
@@martinhroch344 Jesus it never ends...the bell works its way inside!!!!
If the pain goes on...I'M NOT GONNA COMMENT!
Y'all get a like, here.
I feel bad for these guys, they’re job is to try and sound like a lot of artists, and people get triggered when they get something wrong, even though they only have a limited time to this, and they have to keep track of so much info
its not equipment its the fact that they dont know how to play the song
@@atmosphere1696 they’re busy and they probably have to film multiple videos in a day, so expecting them to learn all of the songs correctly is like expecting a bakery who sells bread for 50 cents in a fast food chain style of service to make perfect bread all the time
@@gianski3306 If you cannot make perfect bread, then maybe you should get out of the bread making industry!
Joking.
@@atmosphere1696 The video is called Sound Like Slipknot, not Play Like Slipknot.
@@atmosphere1696 it's a video about getting their tone, not a lesson on how to actually play their music.
We need a sound like Rammstein one of these, cheap and expensive.
this
YES
i wish that was possible, but both Richard and Paul's signature guitars aren't available as far as i know :/
@Aidan Wilks but that doesn't mean all hope is lost, i know for Richard they can find another guitar with EMG pickups and for Paul they can get a Les Paul
so i'd say
ESP MH-400 with EMG's, Blackstar Silverline 50W, Mesa Boogie Throttle box, Dunlop Wah and a TC Flashback
and for Paul: Epiphone Les Paul Muse, Boss Nextone, MXR Phase 90 and some overdrive
@@an0nnn well, Richards is available, but for a shit ton of money
Bloody hell, Matt always gets such C H O N K Y tones on the by busting episodes. The tones he got on the Mastodon, Metallica and now this video are top tier. Rabea's tone here is extra juicy too. Noice
Noice
That GOOD GOOD
THAT SPLISH SPLASH
so thick you can almost bite it
Jim Root is one of my favorite players. Thank you guys!
xNimrod97x Agreed, he doesn’t get the recognition since he is Nu Metal, but he has serious chops.
Yes Jim is cool as fuck and hes crazy good.
Jim is my favourite person and guitarist...Yet Mick Thomson's tone is better I have to say
xNimrod97x his rig is amazing. I love his use of fender guitars, as I always loved a somewhat vintage looking guitar that’s ferocious. Plus, orange amps are nothing short of amazing. Dudes tone and playing are awesome
Me too! I have his signature Tele. Love it
Slipknot tune to Drop B, not B Standard just so you guys know
They compromised to avoid having to grab 4 guitars, 2 in Drop B and 2 in Drop A. They purposely chose songs that can be played in Standard B easily enough.
@@coffinfeeder7732 but they played everything in drop A... Not drop B as they should.
@@joaopedrovieira6300 they played in b standard
They use b standard and drop a since some of their songs are in drop a but I’m guessing they just compensated and played the riff in standard B.
@@JoseCruz-dk3fi He says that he will tune down to B standard and drop A. You can confirm that when they riff the 6 and 5 strings together as in drop tunning. But, all the songs they played on the video if you search and try to play, even Unsainted from the new album are all drop B songs.
Jim Root literally has lessons in majority of these songs here on yt. lol
That super Kraken sound amazing. My Kraken preamp sound good but damn that super blows it away.
I kinda just want to watch you guys playing slipknot riffs all day
My God, the Orange RV 50 sounds fantastic! Great job guys!
I’ve been watching Anderton’s before the sounds like series and I remember the SlipKnot episode like it was yesterday. It was my favorite Mat and Rabea performed. I am so glad to see you guy redo it. Thanks for all the videos guys! Keep up the awesome work!
The physical difference of Rebea between the old video and this one is astonishing! All props to you! (The Kraken still puts a smile on my face every day for over a year now!
Sounds like the John Mayer rig we did last year 🤣🤣🤣
You guys are amazing. Thank you for doing what you do!!!
The riffs in this video sound amazing, a real experience listening to you lads this video, great job
I found it funny that bea had mick's gear but in most songs he played Jim root's parts
Mick and Jim actually switch parts pretty regularly and play each others parts... for fun... lol just a fun fact
@@gtarman8d that's not true. Post proof?
@@idonteatcheetos uhhhh Jim root says this all the time in interviews man......
@@TrueVixeus I mean I've never seen Jim play the intro to surfacing or any other Mick leads.
@@idonteatcheetos to be fair it's probably because Jim doesn't use a pitch shifter
Holy crap that's one of the meatiest heavy tones I've ever heard in these episodes.
I suggested this! Absolutely smashed it guys! Sick tones, great choice of gear, and nailed the riffs 👌🏻🤘🏻
I'm very impressed with your version of Slipknot. Great playing. Love it
This just sounds awesome, it's SO close. I loved it! Let's get a sounds like of Opeth.
F....k yes finally. I've been waiting so looong. Great guys
Totally nailed this one guys, sounds huge. Love that you played Unsainted too
The sound was bang on to my ears, fellas! Always love these 'by busting' episodes!!
I’m actually really surprised how close this is to their actual sound
I searched to see if this video existed earlier today, DAMN!
Very, very good.
You guys rock. Love this series.
Cheers, mates
I love both sound ❤️ it's makes exactly like Slipknot , good job guys . i really enjoyed it
Sounded great. UA-cam compressed the heck out of the bass frequencies though, even through noice headphones, I could BARELY hear the difference between having the Bonsai on/off, so I appreciate knowing that in the room, the difference was huge.
Matt’s guitar playing is underrated
Agreed, he's a tremendous player. Can play anything it seems!
Agreed, what's kind of cool is seeing him over the years go from being a solid player to how good he is today. Like he's aways been good, but he's gotten better every video. He's put in the work and it shows.
No its not
@@skippityblippity8656 agreed

That Victory amp sounds fookin' brilliant

I love the videos cause I love hearing the different equipment gives me better ideas to what I want or need
Sounded pretty good to me, much better than the first attempt anyway.
Also time for this weeks "Please do Billy Duffy of The Cult" the 30th anniversary of Sonic Temple is almost upon us would be a good time to bust out some chonky riffs methinks.
Get ready for gretsch. Or maybe one of the new D'angelico's they started stalking

IKR 😂 they need to get it right. At least do research before you do these lol... btw you guys played Unsainted wrong lol
They did it to spare the trouble of setting up 4 guitars, 2 in Drop B and 2 in Drop A.
Honestly it doesn’t matter that much, it still sounds good so stop complaining
Liam Benn 🤡🤡🤡🤡
James Nelson shut your mouth you waste man, grow up already
Lookin’ great Rabea! Keep up the great work!
You guys are awesome!!
*calls Slipknot thrash metal
*maggots triggered
Christopher Marshall ahhhh reeeeeeeeeeee
Well slipknot does incorporate many kinds of metal genres including thrash metal
Yeah they’re definitely nu metal with a lot of influence like death, thrash, and heavy metal.
Not really a slipknot fan, but I even know Corey Taylor calls them "extreme metal". "nu metal" imo is not near as heavy as slipknot is. Maybe I'm wrong🤷
As somone who has never listened to them hardly at all i just watched their set on Jimmy Kimmel. Lots of screaming and even a breakdown with consistent emphasis on being heavy through out the songs I still say nu metal would have influenced a chorus at best.i personally would label them as the generic heavy metal genre.to me nu metal is hard rock with lots of singing a little double bass if at all and a scream here or there and that's about it.but the DJ aspect does sell you're case lol.
SOUND LIKE RANDY RHOADS “BY” BUSTING THE BANK!!
Jackson Rhoads V and Gibson Les Paul Custom
Marshall Super Lead
TC Mimiq
MXR Distortion +
MXR Ten Band EQ
MXR M117 Flanger
Boss OC3 Super Octave (for the solo in Over The Mountain)
Dunlop Cry Baby Wah
They got spot on almost with their without but it’d be interesting if they found the proper Marshall super lead and used a Flying V or a les Paul custom
Seeing them Friday! Just in time, my friends, just in time. Couldn't wait for this one!
The Devil In I riff... I'm going f'n crazy!
Both rigs and also both of you sound great! REdemtion completed!!!
The opening riff for Devil in I, isn’t just open strings y’all 🤗
yeah and mick now uses omega amps!!!
Jim has even put up a video that shows you how to play devil in I and they still got it wrong haha
Stuart Zandonadi-Hatherley jr micks live tone now is ok with the obsidian but this kraken is absolutely nailing that all hope is gone tone in my opinion which is almost my favourite tone besides the new album a few tweaks and u could get the new album tone it’s abit more bassy and stuff I’m not sure I’ve got the Jackson sick ass guitar so worth it I’ve got a rocker so I’ve got half a rig from both players hahah still sounds killer tho haha
@@patrickstephens956 The tone of the new album is your favorite, yet you think Mick’s live tone is just ok? The new album was recorded with obsidian amps.
Had to grin at bea's sad little "Oh..." at the end. That Fender is a cool and different looking guitar!
T H R I C E both current and back catalogue! PLEASE!
Top UA-cam Guitar series for me!
"They are predominantly a thrash metal band". Amm, *WHAT* .
(Great video either way haha, great tone and great playing lads)
Yeah. The metal police isn't gonna like that one. :)
@@Metallion98 haha
@Michael Persico true, but they arent predominantly a thrash metal or death metal band
Yoni Kup do they classify as heavy metal then? i’m relatively new to metal so, ignorance lol.
Tomas Ventura They are alternative or nu-metal

benji not much use, I don’t think they can get their hands on Dumbles.
That's a tall order

THE OLYMPIC/ARCTIC WHITE JOKE GENUINELY KILLED ME😂😂😂
Still got the "Devil in I" riff wrong, but sounds really really good
In my opinion you guys nailed it
you got the Jim Root Beard too! ;) Great playing guys!
We're using the right tunning B standard
-Maggots Triggered -DrOP B
What they should have done is Bea used the white for drop b and the black for drop a
Nailed it!!! Sound like Alter Bridge by Busting or Sound like Disturbed
I love the homebrew sound you guys made of the original slipknot tone.
FINNNALY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS A LONG TIME
Sound Like In Flamesssssss (Bjorn Gelotte)
Whoracle era, pl0x
Sound like Mars Volta without busting. It would be a challenge, but I’d love to see y’all give it a shot.
And a BY busting...that'd be cool
That'd be great to see. There'd be dozens of pedals on the floor. Could prob cheap out on the guitar, and hire a saxophonist or organist with the leftover budget.
I don't know if it was the active pickups but that Victory amp sounds so angry and tight. Love it!
Orange high gain is my 2 most favorite and possibly due to the fact it’s what I toured with in my youth and but I will always love my Bogner Ubershall above all
How funny, I'm seeing Slipknot tonight. But, at the beginning you said B standard, it's drop B. I think you should redo the Without Busting, imo. You definitely did better. Jim souded great, Mick sounds amazing, my favorite.

It works! Nice one guys
Love the rigs, but ouch with the riffs 😂 they actually play in drop B as opposed to B standard too
They said drop A dont they? Standard B and extra step down on the 6th.
why would you go through the hassle and tune up and down all the strings, when you can just drop one string.
duality is easily played in B standard.
@@jaroslavjirku5311 occasionally. They switch between drop B and drop A. No matter what, the one finger power chord is always there

Edit: oh and you guys still didn't play The Devil In I 100% correct haha sorry love you guys
Vemon Guy if you tune to b standard you can drop that one guitar to drop a without having to retune every string. They played the b riffs that could be done in standard
