Having a chemistry degree, and a user of copper peptides for almost fifteen years, I would argue NIOD’s copper peptide serum called, Copper Amino Isolate CAIS 3:1, is actually better than the Allies product. It’s been out and reformulated 2-3 times over the last ten years. Their formula is top tier. It’s also 1/2 the price as the Allies product for the same amount of product, and 25% off every November. Lastly, never use any copper peptide serum, unless the directions say otherwise, in the same routine with chemical exfoliating acids, l-ascorbic acid (vitamin c), or any retinol.
I know I have already responded to your other comment, but I wanted to state here to that I want people to do their own research and find what is best for their skin. To say to never use it is too vague for my liking, seeing as I do and it has improved my skin health. And have you used the Allies product and compared how it works against the NIOD? If you have and you like the NIOD better still, that’s great, but as I stated in the video, I have used another copper peptide product that is raved about by others and hated what it did for my skin. But I wouldn’t comment and say the Allies is hands and feet better for everyone. It is for me, but to say for everyone just isn’t accurate as we all have different skin that reacts differently to all products.
@@MandyDavisMUA I don’t claim to be an expert. I said in this comment, or another, unless the directions say otherwise, don’t use copper peptides with acids, vitamin c, or retinol, as they can weaken the efficacy of the copper peptide. My main source of information comes from Dr. Loren Pickart (the first to work with copper peptides and formulate serums), Dr. Dray (a derm), Lab Muffin Beauty (cosmetic chemist), and Caroline Hirons. Caroline, who has written a few books on skincare, ahas her own line, and is basically THE esthetician of London. She’s quite literally met with everyone who is anyone in skincare- including the Founder of Allies of Skin, Nicolas Travis. My point is to simply check the directions before using, as the majority of research has shown acids, vitamin c, and retinol decrease the efficacy of copper peptides when used in the same routine. I’d also like to add I’ve used three or four products from Allies. Are they good? Yes. However, they are no better than cheaper (not cheap, but cheaper) alternatives. I find them to be extremely overpriced. At some point, you are paying for the name.
Mandy, glad you reviewed this new release. I have yet to have a flop with the brand. Nothing has caused me irritation or breakouts and I also see improvement in my skin. I feel like I’m saving time and money. I have used NIOD but haven’t seen much improvement. Your skin looks amazing.
I'm so thankful that I found this brand through your channel. I have been loving the peptides firming treatment ever since you first mentioned it. I will absolutely try this new release.
@@MandyDavisMUA Yep! They can work together, that’s why I said to basically read the directions. Depending on the formula, which we don’t know, using a retinol with copper peptides can often make lower their efficacy of the latter.
@@MSUSPARTANS1973 I have only found data saying it could possibly lead to more irritation, none that says it cancels each other out when using tret and copper peptides in the same routine. As far as irritation, I have had none with this product and find my skin looks better for it. It everyone should do what they feel is best for their skin.
Thank you!! They are fine to use, but I personally don't mix peptides and growth factors with acids; or at least I try not to. So, I would use one in the morning and one at night personally.
Great video! I have about the Firming Antioxidant treatment. I was wondering after you apply the firming treatment over the copper serum at night would that be your last step or do you apply a moisture on top as well. Wasn't sure if the firming treatment was your night moisturizer also
I do...it's my favorite growth factor to take traveling. I use that and the moisturizer only as my morning routine and are more than covered. From what I have read, you can use the two together. I use growth factor in the morning and copper peptides at night personally.
I do have their eye cream in my rotation. I don't use the retinol serum because I use tretinoin. My other faves are most definitely the cleanser (in my top 2), the moisturizer I spoke of here, their growth factor serum, the mandelic pigment correction serum, and their Vitamin C is my favorite form of LAA Vitamin C out there.
You are so sweet...thank you. Yes, I think I mentioned in another comment that this and tret are the only treatments I use at night when I don't have my exfoliation night, but I always forget about using Defenage since I use it after my moisturizer. So, yes, I still use Defenage as the very last step. Hope this helps!
That's understandable. It is an investment (although not $199 after 20% discount), but some find it worth it because it takes the place of so many other steps as many Allies products do.
@@OceanluvOC that’s fine and understandable. But if you looked at all my sponsorships, you will see that they are with brands that I have bought from and used for a very long time on my own accord before I ever take a sponsorship. Same goes for Allies. I have used them for years, spent my own money on them plenty and recommended them tons. I sometimes wish I could share how many opportunities I turn down, daily, for paid content so people would be less skeptical of my particular partnerships. I leave a lot of money on the table, and happily, for my integrity to stay where I know it is and want it to be. But again, I understand.
I find these videos dangerous, although well intentioned. People, please for the love of your skin, your largest organ, do not take generic skin care advice from youtube. Makeup application sure, great, awesome. Skin care NO. Make an appointment with a dermatologist then an esthetician that your dermatologist recommends. Period. Skin care is too important. Your unique skin deserves the best care, and that doesn’t necessarily mean an abundance of chemicals constantly smothering it. Commercial products are mostly fillers and low grade ingredients. They fall under cosmetic so are not reviewed for safety by the FDA. Lastly, if a company is legitimate offering legitimately high quality products they do not need to pay influencers to push them, they don’t need advertising at all. They don’t need to give discounts. Mandy has absolutely flawless skin, stunning, but that is mostly genetic. This company would love to claim responsibility for her beautiful skin, just another illusion.
That is VERY unfair to assume and then state that my skin is mostly genetic. Apparently you don't know the lengths I go to to have the skin I have, both external and internal. I never stated in this video that people need to stop what they are doing, order this product, and then have the skin I have, nor that me using this one and only product is the reason for the skin I have. Not once. I have made countless skincare videos in the past, yet you haven't commented on those with the same rhetoric...when I am doing the same thing here that I have done there. Sharing what I love and what works for my skin. Me making this video isn't dangerous, as dramatic as that sounds. People not doing their own research may fall under that term, however I have no control of that, and will not take responsibility for the fact that they may or may not have done so and then used something bad for their skin. But please, make sure and make this comment on the literal thousands of skincare videos on UA-cam. I wouldn't want anyone to think you are singling me out. Have a fabulous day!
You do realize that the skincare lines dermatologists push are pushed because they are heavily marketed by the company’s reps and that the only products that are truly different from dermatologists vs esthetician/OTC are prescription products? general skincare - unless you have a medical condition - doesn’t require a dermatologist or an esthetician. And frankly, your comment singling out Mandy and calling this type of video dangerous is plain ridiculous.
Advise anyone who makes assumptions without knowing the individual(ie Mandy) and how much time, research and money goes into putting these videos together. You aren't forced to buy any of these products or subscribe . I trust Mandy and love the info she brings to her audience.

Thank you for featuring this product. Allies of Skin is so good. This is going onto my "need to try this" list

Thank you so much for the video. I tried the NIOD copper peptide and used the whole bottle and it did absolutely nothing. I can’t wait to try this!

I just ordered the Allies of skin peptide moisturizer and the New SPF from Dermstore. I really enjoy it so far.
