- Summer season in Finland is very short but beautiful. The environment is very green and the day is longer than the night. The first culture shock i faced was the summer cottage life. This was a secret or a mistery to us until we decided to explore and experience the new culture.
lt is the best experience ever. Countryside/villagelife life in Finland.
Home away from home life🙏. Thanks goes to our neighbour who hosted us and taught us the finnish summer cottage life.
Finnish summer cottage life is no longer a shock to me. It will remain to be the best experience in Finland.

Your observation of going back to your rural roots or to something similar is one very true aspect for some people. But there are also many other motivations and individual preferences.
Mökki used to be a fairly primitive cottage. Nowadays they are more and more often like vacation homes with similar facilities they have in their regular homes and can be used for living all year round. These are naturally much more expensive than traditional mökki used to be.
Mökki could have been a fishing or hunting cottage or a base for skiing trips, foraging berries and mushrooms. Sometimes it has a kitchen garden.
For some people it's the place where you have space and freedom to do physical relaxing hobbies like taking care of the forest or building something.
These activities can often be physically demanding but mentally relaxing and rewarding.
It can be simply a place to go and step out of your daily life and roles.
Before the internet and constant connectivity it was an excellent way to escape your social networks and social pressures.
They enjoy watching from the massive window while in the toilet 😂
In my experiences people who have morning swimmingly and especially ice swimming in their daily early morning routine before work are people who have the drive to be high achievers and perform well and also pay attention to what is beneficial for their wellbeing.
They use this routine to support their physical and mental wellbeing and readiness for the challenges of the day.
Some of them have also had some problems to which they have tried to find some cure or relief and by own experience have come to believe this routine helps and improves theirs happiness. And if it also seems to improve their productivity its a win-win-win situation they prefer to keep.

That machete is built differently from Kenyan type
32:14 to me those look like Silkkiuikku (Podiceps cristatus) or some other kind of uikku, grebe (Podicipedidae). They don't look like ducks to me.
@@just42tube Enjoy. You are a real Finn👌. Lettuja on kyllä hyvää.
Some experiences need to be strong to trigger the desired physiological reactions.
Swahili on meidän toisen virallisen kieli. Englantia on ekä.
@@Ilona_Ke
Kuulinko oikein videolta, oman perheesi kotikielen olevan swahili?
Meillä on kyllä heimo kieli lisäksi.

Heimo kieli.
Could it be that you're comparing billhook (vesuri in Finnish) to a Maasai short sword or machete?
Vesuriksi🤔
@@Ilona_Ke
I mean, you mentioned in the video that it's different compared to what you are used to in Kenya.
Vesuri
Etymology:
vesa + -uri
Pronunciation
IPA(key): /ˈʋesuri/, [ˈʋe̞s̠uri]
Rhymes: -esuri
Syllabification(key): ve‧su‧ri
Noun
billhook, bill, pruning hook (a wood-cutting hand tool, with a hook-shaped point, and fitted with a (short) handle, used mainly in pruning)
I compared it to machete. In Kenya we mostly use the machete or the Maasai short sword.

I would think that machetes in Kenyan are often used for similar purposes as what a small camping axes are used in Finland. It's light, short, easy to carry with you and still sharp and handy to cut with precision and to apply significant force.
This place must be lonely. Zero visitors. No passers-by 💔
Not really lonely. Most Finnish people love being alone and in a silent place. Someone can live in summer cottage the whole summer alone.
That is normal to most Finns i have interacted with. Peace of mind and enjoying of nature during holiday in a silent place is some times good for our health.
@@Ilona_Ke I'm impressed. I would never consider solitude
