It doesn't look like the Hopscotch Girls book is manufactured by Amazon. That means the interior is not made with the recycled toilet paper stock that Amazon uses. Also: It's probably not assembled by the lowbrow hammerheads that Amazon hires to put the interior in upside down and out of order resulting in fewer bad reviews. However most of the negative reviews are about not having enough pages.
This is the basis for some indie publisher to use KDP to produce the same quality product and results. That's so not going to happen.

Here are some examples of the many negative reviews on this book.
The coloring book was ripped when I got it out of the package. I am very disappointed because I am suppose to give it to her in a couple days.
I was very disappointed when I received the book. For the price, I was expecting a very nice and thick book. But there were only about 15 pages front and back. I had bought this for a Christmas present for my granddaughter but now I will have to get something else to add to this Purchase
It is a coloring book with one short inspirational message on each page. The description of this book is very much overstated. While the messages are important to hear, I thought it would have more substance. No thought-provoking questions to ask yourself when you're feeling inadequacies, no advice on how build up your confidence or help your friends. My daughter always hears positive messages, coloring the words isn't all that thought-provoking or profound.
That last one sounds like a dingbat that spent their kid's whole life screwing them up and expected a therapy session for $7.00 plus shipping.
Your rude! Let's see you do better... instead of complaining and you think you can do better....do it shut the heck up. At least she's doing it.....

I just read that you can't publish coloring books on Amazon because there is no way to color on a Kindle unless you take a Sharpie to the screen. What I read said uploading a coloring book to Amazon would get your account banned. What's up?

The print books Amazon publishes aren't conducive to coloring on. Or writing on.

The more interesting KDP videos are on “how to do it”. These videos of yours are more of the click bait variety. Firstly because if a new KDP author too closely copies a highly successful book or book series, they will get banned. Secondly and more importantly, you can see the sell through and estimate the amount of money earned BUT you can’t tell us the advertising costs that were spent. It could be that they spent $100K to earn that $1million. Roughly 10% of their revenue was advertising costs but who (generally) has $100k to spent on advertising upfront to get $1million revenue. You also don’t know the costs that they have to on pay. The illustrators might get 40% of royalties, etc. So, not trying to be overly critical but you can only tell part of the KDP business and the $1m is deceptive

Also, even if they do spend $100k to make $1 million they wouldn’t have started off spending that much, it’s something that they would’ve built up over the years and the more you sell/make the more you can spend on advertising. It’s not unreasonable for anyone to build up to something like that over the space of 5-6 years. The point of these videos is to look at marketing strategies and to show what’s possible when publishing books not for people to copycat books so anyone doing that should get their accounts banned.
@@MyFreedomEmpire don’t they at least get 90c in royalties? Besides I chose a hypothetical $1million. I am still correct in that you can pretty much only guesstimate at revenue earned, not the actual profit. And yes, there is lots of free marketing that can be done, but it is really much less effective unless you are one of the really lucky ones to have a book go viral. I am trying to be not critical but these books and videos are not really that inspirational to me. But I may be the only person to feel that way. However it does seem that some “make money through KDP” UA-camrs probably make more money on the videos and sponsorship codes than they do by selling KDP material. I love the ones who actually show us the receipts on their accounts. They also have discount codes.
This comment is unfair. I’ve watched a few of her videos and they always offer a fantastic insight into the world of KDP.
@@JayPea-zu7ue absolutely agree that Caroline gives valuable insight into the world of KDP but I don’t think that I am being unfair with the clickbait comment. She starts the video saying that there will be an analysis of “exactly” how this series has achieved its success in only a few years. How can an analysis be exact when exact costs are not accounted for, how many illustrators were employed, how much was the website programmer paid, how much advertising was done and those costs. Caroline says she will analyse how this series achieved its success and how “you can do this too “. My point if badly made was that these analyses are superficial. Was it interesting to see this niche? Yes, but then most of the videos say to try and find a niche that is not saturated. So I am confused. I also said that I maybe the only person with this confusion, so be it. I must say, I do pay more attention to creators that show their receipts & their own publishing results. If Caroline’s main success is being a UA-camr, then great, that’s her niche.
