    I know this video is several months old. But by any chance can you guys please do a comparison of the Shoei GT Air 2 and Shoei RYD (RF-SR in the US).

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, we don't currently stock the RYD, so we are unable to test it. Though the RYD does excellent for safety with a 5 star SHARP rating and is seen as a fairly quiet helmet, we'd still expect the GT Air 2 to come out the quieter based on its very strong road test result (alhough this would require testing to make sure).

      @@Championhelmets Well I think the GTair is more touring and the NXR more streetfighter-ish. So I probably go for the latter. I have a RYD now and I must say I'm very pleased with that. Very! Or do you have another suggestion for me? Another helmet like the RYD that I don't (yet) know of? Cheers!

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому

      Great to hear you're enjoying your RYD! Though both the NXR and the GT Air 2 have quite sporty designs, the GT Air 2 is definitely closer to the touring end of the spectrum. That being said, the NXR would be the most direct step up from the RYD, not least because they share the CWR-1 visor.
      For alternatives, if you're already leaning more towards the general sport-touring market with the NXR, then the main competitor would be the AGV K6, both helmets showed a strong performance on our road test while also coming with a focus on safety. Though the NXR may have a slight advantage here since it earned 4/5 stars from SHARP.

    I'm looking for a quiet helmet, but the GT Air 2 is a bit out of my price range, can you give any other suggestions?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому +2

      The other 2 best options would be either the HJC RPHA 70 (which also was incredibly quiet at 97dB) or the AGV K6, which was slightly louder. You can also see how these helmets all compare here: ua-cam.com/video/oQtOhG7XP-s/v-deo.html

      Yes absolutely, we expect the first NXR2 sample to come in september. As soon as we receive it we will take it out on the road for a Road Test.

    What communication system can i fit on my NXR?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому +1

      Though Sena have recently released their new Sena 50 series, the best option would be to go for either the Cardo Packtalk Slim or the Packtalk Bold. Though if you're coming off of an older Sena system, it's a good idea to also check if it's part of the 50 series trade up program. Nonetheless, Cardo will give you a great level of quality, waterproofing, and are meant to fit in almost any helmet. Thanks for the comment!

    hi. What does Shoei need to improve to get 5 stars in the visor section?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому +2

      While the Shoei visor system gives the it a great seal, considering the helmet's price and competition we had to be tough on the details, the main thing being the system can be a little fragile at times. Other than this, the visor is excellent and comes with all the features we'd expect for this price segment. However, Shoei helmets have earned 5 stars for the visor, like the Shoei X-Spirit 3, and this was thanks to the numerous additional features that came with the visor. Thanks for the question!

    How can the GT have twice the stars of the NXR regarding noise? The NXR supposedly has special ear pad lining that makes it heaps better than the predecessor (which must have been absolutely horrible compared to the GT) ??

    Guys, I wanna order a helmet from you, but when I've tried both of them in a local shop here ,I experienced that Shoei NXR fits to my head better than the GT-Air2?! ...So considering my headshape it seems the NXR fits perferct. But I wonder which other brands and models would also fit to me I want to learn other alternatives. I've tried many helmets from AGV, HCJ, MT, Scorpion etc. but none of them worked for me. Could someone tell me if they use NXR, which other helmet models do also fit to their head? It seems it's the only way I can learn my other alternatives. Thanks!

    i need your honest opinion between GT AIR 2 vs X SPIRIT 3

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  2 роки тому

      If you are a true racer the X spirit will be the best choice. If you are a more versatile rider (now and then doing a trip, commuter, etc) the gt air 2 will be the better choice. The internal sunvisor really does add a value. Unless you take an x spirit 3 with a pbotochromic visor, then the x spirit is better choice overall. (but more costly)

    Can you compare the GT Air II vs the RF 1400

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, we have not been able to get our hands on the RF-1400 yet since we are based in Europe. Nonetheless, if an NXR update is released in Europe then we certainly plan to test it. For now, the GT Air 2 vs the NXR is the closest we can get, though we expect the RF-1400 to show a stronger performance.

    Is shoei NXR same as shoei Z7?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, the Shoei NXR, RF1200 (for the USA), and Z7 are all more or less the same helmet intended for different markets. The main difference between these 3 versions is their certifications, head fits, and there is a slight difference in weight.

      GT Air 2 of course, coz have better noise isolation and better ventilation (this test is not fully correct about measuring ventilation, i think). I have both of these helmets and GT Air 2 is definitely better

      Depends on you and your bike. I wanted to buy a GT-Air II and finally kept my NXR after a road test. It was definitely the quieter helmet and I am very picky about noise. I just bought a photochromic shield to compensate the absence of the tinted visor.

    • @MaxFromSydney1
      @MaxFromSydney1 4 роки тому

      Thanks for people’s replies. But it’s a nightmare that people have different perceptions of which of these helmets is quieter. A quiet helmet is important for me on highways and motorways. I own the Shoei NXR and Hornet X2 helmets. I ride a V-strom 650 with a Givi Airflow screen and I find the X2 incredibly noisy with the peak on compared to the NXR. Note that I always use custom moulded ear plugs when riding. I’m inclined to get the GT-Air 2 for my next helmet in a couple of years.

    • @oneblackdogrides
      @oneblackdogrides 4 роки тому

      @@MaxFromSydney1 I hear you about the Hornet X2 - I found that the peak vibrates in any turbulence and this makes the whole helmet boom - I found this out by holding the peak between my thumb and forefinger - it was magic! My (partial) solution was to reinforce the underside of the peak with fencing wire and glue and now, with a new windscreen on the KLR, it's tolerable. Just. But it fits my head perfectly and the lower portion of the helmet is brilliant at keeping out the road and mechanical noise.
