Deion is, undoubtedly, the greatest Cover Corner in NFL History. I’m taking Ocho on 3rd and 5. That’s not a slight to Prime AT ALL. Chad is just as different as a WR as Prime was in coverage. And that specific down and distance plays to Chad’s strength.
As a huge boxing fan for all 41 years of my existence, the phrase “Styles make fights” comes to mind. No, Ocho isn’t the greatest WR of all time. But his footwork is something we’ve never seen before him or since.
He’s a Hall of Fame player in my humble opinion, but the way he’s been portrayed and perceived kept him out. His numbers are almost identical to Michael Irvin… and Chad had to play Ray Lewis + Ed Reed’s Ravens AND Troy Polamalu + Ryan Clark’s Steelers defenses twice a year EACH. The Browns were a vacation, but they still brought the funk defensively.

I loved Chad as a player, but Prime would've locked him up. Prime used to lock HOF guys with relative ease. He had impeccable technique & anticipation and in the rare even he got beat early he had the speed to recover

I was blessed enough in College to see some of the Bengals players 7 on 7 throughout the year...
I had no issues with Chad going deep myself, but spent 99% of my time standing up from his change of direction. Dude is a fucking great person as well. Treated everyone from freshman hopefuls to senior standouts the same.
