I put the 1800 in mine, wheels and tires, MiniT springs, and pulled the rear internals. Those basic upgrades and this thing is a completely different animal
Nice 1st upgrades been looking at the Hobbywing Fusion for the Capra. And thinking about the Desert Rc chassis and skid. Missing the Red Rocks of St George. Stay safe, my friend
Dude it will make driving that Capra allot more fun! What would you put the chassis on? It’s a really good one! Down the road I will be converting _______ truck over to that chassis. But I want to do some other stuff with it first! :)
One could argue that those motors are same or price evenly to a good brushed system which I like both. And the slow slow slow apply those FOS’s have make crap tires at least 25% work better. Being that slow let’s everything settle. Like giving time for shock oil to pass the valving, slop in links/suspension to settle sidewall rolling to rest a hole list of things chassis flex to calm down. You’ll have less bounce you can hear ring and pinion trans gears drive shaft slop tighten up and transmission. Instead of hair trigger control and the rig becomes sloppy bouncing and unmanageable. Bake those tires off the wheels and tune them with foams and re glue. I use gloves and tinny desk top oven on a little cookie sheet/pan and check the tires glue about ever 5min trying to press them off run mine about 300-350 degrees. I bought it only for this as the rubber is very toxic and stinky. Some wheel plastic are less desirable but I get a 90% success rate. Also knock off metal bead locks are cheap to buy instead of re glue. Your channel is great bro BA rig!
That’s a great breakdown of the value of slow slow crawling! Very very true. What I love about these motors is they are just plug and play. Very little tuning needed, great for begginers. Thanks for the break down on how to get the tires off! I definitely will pull these off and put on some beadlocks eventually! Thanks for the comment and the kind words 🙏🏼 much appreciated
No I haven’t noticed any….I am actually gonna do some tests with the shocks tho….but lovin what they are giving me. But shocks are a weakness of mine haha. Not sure what a best practice would be
@HobbyDrop There is no best practice. Actually, depends on the line or course. I hope Redcat solved the twist issue. I was shocked at the performance. Thanks
I couldn't find anyone that got the 1200kv, I'd be interested to see how fast it goes. I know speed isn't priority but I like some and stock was too slow. 1800kv appeared about same as stock but of course no one measures speed on crawlers lol. I got a fusion pro 2300kv, it is fast lol
Oh yeah I don’t pay attention to speed at all haha. Exocage always tests that 😂 the pro will have a heck of a lot more speed. This one isn’t very fast.

That’s the direction I’m headed as well I think! Did you ever try running it with no springs?
@Richieboy81 did you just do the miniT springs on the front or both front and rear?
@@3staggerlee3 I still have the stock springs on it. Shock upgrades are coming this week!….kinda. Haha
@@3staggerlee3 front and rear. Soft up front , mediums in the rear.
@@HobbyDrop No I haven’t, I usually run no springs on my 24s, but on this one I think the Mini T springs work great.
Its looking good and performing well out on those rocks dude. So much potential still. Going to be a fun journey to watch. Glad I could help.
It’s definitely better! I’m thinking maybe shocks next 🤷🏻♂️ ima run some tests
I received my ascent yesterday and I installed the hw fusion pro I already had I have the se also its really good too
Yeah the SE is just so good on the wallet 😂 the pro is awesome tho! How have you liked the truck?
With that & the 20% underdrive wow it’s now a line slayer. Of course got the metal beadlocks also.
I do need some metal beadlocks! That will come in time :)

Fusion for the win. Does that truck have any torque twist? Thanks for sharing.

@@smokin0137 what truck were you having the twist issues with?
@HobbyDrop the everest and the gen 8 are both very twisty.
@@smokin0137 oh yeah the Everest is for sure. I never had an 8

Subbed! Does Fusion SE pair with stock transmitter?
Thanks man!! Yes it does pair, I’m still using the stock controller and receiver. It’s so user friendly! Just plug and play.
